  1. For chips there are only 2 brands I don't have a problem with: 1) On the Border tortilla chips (found here at Wal-Mart & Kroger). I also love the On the Border salsa, which is gluten-free. 2) For flavored chips, I only eat Golden Flake because they are all gluten-free, so there is no risk of cc on their lines.
  2. The whole liver cleanse idea is bogus to me. I reply only to echo what others have said about PLEASE be careful & consult a trusted physician BEFORE attempting anything that adds laxative to laxative to laxative..."liver spams" "gallbladder spasms" ...???? The liver can't spasm. As some of you may remember, my gallbladder had to be removed not because...
  3. Excellent! Green Giant & Del Monte....thanks everyone for the tips on these brands & the labeling policy. Thanks for the compliment on my dog, Haines, Darlindeb. The vet says he's a mix of some kind of setter or spaniel & a golden retriever. He'd been abandoned at the animal shelter a few years ago...I can't imagine....he's an INCREDIBLE...
  4. hello...any thoughts on gluten-free cream style corn? I found a recipe for mexican corn bread that looks yummy but i need cream style corn. HELP!!
  5. Hi! Ok, so I don't live in AL, but I'm in north MS....Oxford. I'm a couple of hours from Jasper, and about 4 from Huntsville. Just saying hi....I think y'all are about the closest folks on this forum to where I am. I'm an hour south of Memphis and an hour west of Tupelo. There aren't any support groups around here that I know of.
  6. Hi all! What cream style corn brands are gluten-free? I need major, national brands please...available store brands vary too much regionally.
  7. Recently discovered a new fav breakfast. It keeps me full easily for 6-7 hrs. Bowl of Enjoy Life Cinnamon Granola with a fresh peach diced on top, pour DariFree over. Yummy. This and a cup of coffee and I'm good to go for quite awhile.
  8. I haven't tried the alfredo because of dairy intolerance, but the one time I had a Classico tomato based sauce I was sick, sick, sick. No doubt it was the Classico. I wont touch the stuff again.
  9. I bought the Thompson's pda guide here. No problems so far, and that was Feb. I just don't like that I'm not notified when updates are out, like I think people who buy directly from CT are. I have to remember to go look for updates...yegh!
  10. I've found that I have trouble with high fructose corn syrup. I found, after completely avoiding it for awhile, I can now tolerate traces of it, (like in ketchup), but still try to avoid it completely as much as possible. I also just don't tolerate any kind of sugary sweet anything very well. Honey seems to be easier for me to tolerate than anything else...
  11. I may have to try them. I'm just not sure since they really spice up everything they cook....yes, they do have a very nice selection of veggies. Pre-dx I use to love their veggie plate, but being very familiar with their food, I'm just not at all certain that their veggies would be gluten-free.
  12. Maybe but not necessarily. Where's the slow down? Or is it just in general. When you think about the different organs, and how much is involved in digestion...well, different tests show different aspects of the process.
  13. Where is this? What did you have here? I love Thai! And where was this? Sounds really good. Oooh, sounds like you found several good places. Were the staff comfortable with your needs? Or was it toally new to them? Now you're talking!!! We live in Oxford. We used to eat at Ajax really often. Great food if you like it a little on...
  14. Try this....copy/paste this link into your web browser and then scroll down to the Baking Tips, Guides, and Resources. The Zojirushi instructions are there in pdf format. www.gluten free.com/resources.htm#gfp
  15. Whoa...hey! I certainly didn't expect to see you for a couple of days. So they released you same day???? And you woke up hungry??? You and your surgeon are both pretty awesome Oh, Bev, I'm so glad it went well for you! I just pm'd you thinking it would be a couple of days before you got on the forums. Take care and continue the strong recovery...
  16. The upper GI and the stomach-emptying scan are two different tests. I've had both so I'm positive of this. Gastroparesis (slow emptying stomach) is not always linked with diabetes; that's just one of the causes. Rache, yes, there is something wrong, but it's not rare. There are different meds they can try. How long have you been gluten-free?
  17. I think this is what you're looking for Open Original Shared Link free.com/files/zojirushi_X-20.pdf I spent less than 5 minutes programming this once. It works great with all the gluten-free mixes I've tried.
  18. I ordered the Triumph Dining cards about 6-8 wks ago, but hadn't tried them yet. Last night at the last minute a friend and I decided to eat out. I didn't have any info with me, but I did have my Triumph cards. We went to Chili's and as the waitress brought our drinks and asked if we needed a minute, I used Elonwy's line and said, "I come with instructions...
  19. I have heard that the highest hurdle is the person with an eating disorder deciding they want to get well. As ChelsE said, hopefully the clinic she is going to will help her find that true desire. {{{{{HUG}}}}} God bless you and your family.
  20. The Centrum you bought advanced formula A to Zinc is gluten-free. I've also just started taking it, and I think a number of people here do. By the way, good call on the chewable; the chewable is not gluten-free.
  21. Hey Bridget, I don't want to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong....but sometimes I do *laughing at self* When I read debmidge's post, I didn't see it as an attack on you. Really. I read it as someone saying, I read and hear your perspective. Here's mine. Other's have said it before. Because we depend on text and an occasional emoticon, it...
  22. Well, are you looking for the white sand of Destin, FL, etc., or the more brown sand of a local beach. White sand would be easy enough. I've used Pamela's shortbread cookies as a sub for graham cracker crusts several times. Yummy and they crumble really nicely in a ziploc. You could have very light-colored sand in no time!
  23. Yes, I usually use my own spices, too. Ditto the McCormick's Tex Mex Chili seasoning, though, but I can only find it at one place near me.
  24. A good thing.... I've been a House fan almost since it started. I still do not care for the way last night's script portrayed Celiac disease. I acknowledge that my bias may be because what was portrayed was completely foreign to any experience I've had with Celiac. Am I outraged? Nope. Yes, I know it's just a tv show. Yes, I know that ratings matter...
  25. Ditto! ....well, I don't know exactly when mine developed, but as a child no doubt. I hear voices through an IRiver Ditto! Which is what put me in the hospital, where a dr. finally said, "Gluten!"
