  1. My son loves sausage and we have some Tennessee Pride in our freezer, so I wanted to see if it was gluten-free. The suspect ingredients that I see are "Spices & spice extractives". I tried to email the company, but couldn't get that part of their website to work. I can try to call them tomorrow if no one knows. TIA!! BTW, we have the Mild Country...
  2. I just ordered some of their pancake & waffle mix from their website and shipping was only $4.75 for 2 boxes. Some of our local stores carry the cake mix & blondies mix, but have never seen any of the others. I am interested in the pizza mix now, too!! Thanks for sharing!!
  3. Philly Swirl makes some Italian Ices that can be found in the freezer section at Wal-Mart or your grocery store. Last time I bought them they were $1.97 for a box of 6 and said Gluten-free on the box!
  4. DS does PB sandwiches with Gluten-Free Pantry's French Bread, Go-Gurt Smoothies, applesauce, Enviro-Kids Crispy Rice Bars, Gushers, taco salads, grilled chicken salads, hard boiled eggs. We try to rotate so that he isn't always eating the same thing.
  5. Hi Kelly! I have had a hard time convincing relatives to be tested, too, even though they have symptoms. My Mom did get tested, but my Dad & Sister are choosing to bury their heads in the sand. I think that there is only so much you can do. Send the info, suggest testing and leave it at that. I hope that they come around and get tested...
  6. Bush's Baked Beans are gluten-free, all varieties except their chili beans and chili magic. YUM!
  7. I am so sorry, Betty! That really stinks. I say do what makes you feel better!! What a moron that dr sounds like. My son is biopsy diagnosed and gets stomach pain with gluten. So do I, but I am not biopsy diagnosed. My bloodwork looked much like yours. I agree with everyone though, who cares what you call it, you know that the gluten-free diet helps...
  8. I would expect to pay more and wouldn't mind doing so. Yes, it does stink that eating gluten-free costs more, but it is very worth it to me in the long run.
  9. YIKES!!! I would be very upset! I hope that it doesn't happen again.
  10. I agree to focus on what you can have, not what you can't. At least you have some answers now and you can get on with the diet and your life. I am debating whether or not to go dairy/casein free. I haven't done Enterolab, but know for a fact that I am Lactose intolerant and possibly casein intolerant. Good luck to you!
  11. Kristy ~ Thank you so much for your post. It is great to hear from someone who has the experience with ADHD/ADD that you do. My son is 10.5. He said the reason for the delay with the results was due to the fact that 1 of the drs in their 4 dr practice had been out for an extended amount of time and they were swamped. I was a little irritated that...
  12. Wow....thanks for the wealth of information! I will look up CHADD in our area. DS plays hockey & baseball and has been playing some casual lacrosse with the neighbor kids daily. He is not one to sit in front of the computer or TV, especially since he had his PS2 taken away. I have started to look for some Karate or matrial arts classes in our area...
  13. So DS was evaluated for ADHD back in May before his Celiac diagnosis and we just got the results back last week. He has since been diagnosed with Celiac and started the gluten-free diet on July 15th. His Ped said that the results are consistant with ADHD and highly recommends meds, although he said that when he first started his medical training that he...
  14. Northland Cranberries are labeled gluten-free. I drink them all the time.
  15. I buy Sweet Baby Ray's at my grocery store (Meijer). I think that Kroger carries it too.
  16. My soy reactions are very similar to my gluten reactions. I didn't realize that soy is in SO much of what we eat. I have now switched to canola mayo, corn oil for cooking and real butter instead of vegetable oil (soy) based margarines. I have a lactose intolerance, too, but can take Lactaid to help with that for the butter. Maybe try eliminating the...
  17. Yikes!! Glad you opted to get the biopsy. Even if it is negative you may benefit from trying out a gluten-free diet if you feel the need to try. I can't believe he suggested that you wait a while!!! Good luck on your endoscopy!
  18. Amy's 365 brand Quaker (I now use Arrowhead Grits and Lundberg Rice Cakes)
  19. Let me start by saying that I eat at CIP pretty frequently and know what is gluten-free and I usually eat the same thing. I usually bring the gluten-free menu with me that I printed out from online, but last night I didn't. I asked the server for one b/c I was wanting something different and he told me that their entire menu is gluten-free. I looked at...
  20. Thanks guys!!! I have never tried Pepto, but maybe I will give it a try. He is drinking lots of water. He was feeling better earlier today and then had some applesauce for lunch, along with some gluten-free mac & cheese. Now he says it hurts again. I am going to eliminate the applesauce for a few days (he normally eats a ton of it) and see if that...
  21. He has been complaining of a stomachache for the past day. He hasn't had one at all since going gluten-free up until yesterday. He did have ice cream out (Graeter's) and DD threw Fruit Loops at him (she is 4) and 1 got in his mouth, so there are a couple of things that could have done it. Is there anything that he can take to help him feel better? He...
  22. OMG!!! I am still so very angry for you!! I am glad that she is now home where you can feed her safely! The hospital and dietician both need to learn some stuff about the gluten-free diet apparently.
  23. Kinnickinnick makes frozen pizza crusts that are Gluten-free Casein-free. They are AWESOME!!! They come in packs of 4. I eat them all the time.
  24. Hi Kim! I have a 10 year old boy that just went gluten-free a few weeks ago and may be up for chatting via email if your DD doesn't mind chatting with a stinky boy I will warn you, though, he is not a huge talker and just got his own email address at the start of this summer. I will check with him, too, when he gets home and see how he feels about...
  25. ((((HUGS))))) At least you know now, though, and you can prevent them from suffering down the road. It is a hard adjustment to make for anyone, but I think it is much harder for kids. What I have learned over the past few weeks since DS has gone gluten-free is to make sure that there are plenty of gluten-free treats available for him. We found these great...
