So nice that you found a dr who took you seriously When he was talking about the low IgA, was he referring to total serum IgA or the anti-gliadin IgA? I am curious b/c while my dr never ran my total serum IgA, I suspect that I may be deficient b/c only the IgG was postive with me. I went gluten-free before I had further testing without knowing any...

ARCHIVED Zelnorm Withdrawn
wolfie replied to jerseyangel's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My dr tried to get me to take this years ago for my "IBS". Glad I didn't. I am always very leary of taking new drugs as it is and I knew there had to be a better way to handle my "IBS". I was right. Same thing happened with Vioxx....dr wanted me to take it for sinus headaches, I didn't and glad that I didn't now that it was pulled off the market as... -
This was an issue with our son as well. He was being evaluated for ADHD, he was irritable and had some vague stomach issues...constipation and occasional non-specific tummy aches. Asked his Ped to test him and his blood work was really high and his biopsy was positive. He is a different person now that he is gluten-free. He is so much more pleasant to...

ARCHIVED Having A Scary Episode Of Vertigo
wolfie replied to mesmerize's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Vertigo can be caused by different things. I know that when I had an inner ear infection I was so dizzy that I couldn't walk. I was waiting tables at the time and had to go home and lay down. My FIL also had vertigo right after I had DD and ended up in the hospital it was so bad. I don't think they ever found out what was causing it. Do you have... -
ARCHIVED Igg And Iga
wolfie replied to Nic's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
In the test that you posted it most likely is Anti-gliadin IgG & IgA (Immunoglobin G & Immunoglobin A). Meaning that he was reacting to gluten. I think you can get the type of testing for casein that you are talking about done through Enterolab. -

We eat Yoplait yogurt all the time with no issues. You do have to avoid the granola or cookie add-ins as mentioned above. -
I eat at CIP once a week!! I love them!! The burgers and fries are fantastic! They do a great job with gluten-free. I have got the location I go to so trained that I don't even have to tell them what I want anymore. The server that waits on us most of the time knows my order (bacon cheeseburger no bun, no seasoning (it has soy), no onions and fries with...

ARCHIVED Antigliadin Abs, Igg
wolfie replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had a very similar situation happen to me. My PCP Dr told me that my results (AGA IgG was positive, others neg, but they did not do a total serum IgA, so I could be deficient there, which would skew the other results) indicated Celiac and that I needed to go gluten-free. She said that I could see a GI if I wanted, but didn't need to. I told her that... -

Can she eat dairy? If so, what about some gluten-free mac & cheese? I make it with Tinkyada pasta and Velveeta OR Kraft Cheese powder (can be found by the parmasen cheese in your grocery store and is what is used in the Kraft Mac & Cheese). DS loves mac & cheese and will never pass it by. I also make gluten-free spaghetti & meatballs a... -

ARCHIVED Blood Test Now Or Later On New C Diagnosis?
wolfie replied to NewtoGF's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Has your son had any bloodwork done at all? I would personally have the testing done before you put him on a gluten-free diet, especially if the dr suspects it. Once your son goes gluten-free, the test results could be skewed. I hope that you can find some answers and get your son feeling better soon! -
I think that they say that you can trim the stem if it bothers you. Have you checked their website? If it isn't leaking, I would imagine that you have it in place correctly. Were you able to spin the cup around once or feel that the cup has opened up? Sorry for the TMI, but I have been using this for over a year and it took me a cycle or two to get it...
