  1. I work in a hospital and this made me laugh. Every now and again we pass around the humorous medical abbrevations, I will have to post it when I get it. I enjoyed this though :) Keep them coming!
  2. I would say 1-3 days for me, when it comes to "D" some of my other less bothersome symptoms can last longer but the "D" is the one that slows me down and it is by far the most annoying one to try and go to work or live a life with.
  3. I don't know if this is an option, but is there a way you can all pitch in for plastic dishes/utensils? We use both the dishwasher and hand washing in my house. My fiance doesn't eat gluten free like I do so I made him rinse his plates very well before putting them in the dishwasher. This has been working very well for me and I have not had any ill effects...
  4. Molly, that was a wonderful article. Congrats on your 15-year mark. It is an accomplishment and I bet you can vouge for how much food has come along in those 15 years.
  5. I think I would have a hard time getting used to it as well. It just seems very unprofessional. I understand people think oh it is just a small job...but still the cashiers behavior says a lot about the store. I just attended this customer service training a few days ago at work and I am still amazing by this pickle video they showed us. I don't work in a...
  6. Wow, I live in PA and when I go in the stores (around me anyway) I never see cashiers with snacks.
  7. I know it was all emotional for me, very down because I couldn't eat like everyone else and at first I had no ambition to try anything new or cook. We fell into a fast food rut in those days. We are so much more into healthy eating now a days and I am no longer depressing over gluten!!!! It was a long fought battle let me tell you!
  8. This is a great thread because sometimes when you feel as if you can't go another day to work or don't know how you will even finish the one you are in, it is nice to come on here and know that others understand.
  9. I know it messes with my moods, when I have "C" I am miserble!
  10. I am not sure if this will help or not, but before learning I had celiac, I had pain in the left lower abdomen and it kept getting worse, nothing helped it...no pills, rest, heating pads. I had also all kinds of radiology tests to find out the cause, nothing. When I switched Dr's I had been keeping a journal of what was happening to me and when. She suggested...
  11. I will let you know, there are quite a few stores in Scranton that I shop at that carry different cereals you never see anywhere else.
  12. This sounds very good. I am going to try it this weekend. I have not had breaded chicken, besides chicken nuggets since going gluten free. I am excited.!
  13. I love the Tinkyada pasta, tastes like real pasta, Bell and Evans chicken nuggets, GLuten Free Pantry brownie mixes. Whole Foods frozen biscuits.
  14. I never heard of Crown, what else do they make. I always am in the mood for candy.
  15. I bought both the Little Einsteins and the Mickey Mouse cereal the other day, it was on sale 1.60 a box. I opened Little Einsteins and it is very good. I remember Kaboom from years ago, I believe I did see some recently, I'll let you know.
  16. I am so glad to hear Tory is doing better. How scary that must have been. I am glad to hear the rest of the vacation went well and everyone made it home ok.
  17. I had those tests done seperately but the gas pain was horrible from the colonoscopy (test done first) and I actually took a warm/hot bath and that helped. I then took a nap and felt much better. For the endoscopy I just was tired from the meds given to relax you.
  18. Philip Morris as in the cigarette company?? I never knew that, interesting. Disturbing...but interesting.
  19. My energy took a dip before the diagnosis and so did my work performance. I stayed at my job (they worked with me because they knew I was ill and not "Faking" it) A year after going gluten free I took a new job and I am doing a lot better. Thankfully I only have to watch gluten, but I do stick to a healthy diet as much as possible. I do the greens, and fruits...
  20. Hi, and welcome to the board. It is great to see how careful you are being, It was a few months before I knew about the CC issue. You seem to understand the diet and that is great. It does take time for your body to react to the changes. It varies from person to person. Keep with the diet. One day everything is going to flow and you will be feeling...
  21. I know all about this, once I felt real good I started doing things, like an occasional Olive Garden meal or Cheesburger. At first nothing happened so I thought everything was ok, and it became more frequent that I did these little slips, soon I was starting to feel worse again. So now I am no longer doing those slip-ups, it is not worth it.
  22. Hmm, I thought the West Coast would have had a lot of gluten free options. Whenever you hear of the West Coast you hear about all the healthy options, unles maybe I am wrong.
  23. Thank you for this information, the title Campells made me read this post, this awful cold weather has got me in the mood for some soup.
  24. I do the exact same thing, especially on weekends, on recent weekends with the winter weather here, John and I hibernate in the house and I eat all gluten free stuff, but junky food. I need to change my habits, so during the week I have been focusing on trying to improve things but come friday I fall off the wagon.
