  1. I totally understand, I too have days like that. There are some days and it always happens at work that I feel so isolated and so sick of this. When I go home I am in my own enviroment where I eat gluten-free and it is stocked full of food for me. At work, when people bring in things to share they bring pretzels, and cookies, or baked goods. Now with the...
  2. Very tricky, I trust the mainstream products from the Wegmans which state gluten-free. I never had a problem. They are very good about labeling and if they are not 100% sure they will not put the gluten free circle on it. I always double check the label in the beginning when there is no gluten free listing, I sometimes miss things and have bought a product...
  3. Always in my cart, Peanut butter cup ice cream and Creme Brulee from Wegmans, both gluten free, kettle chips and french onion dip, and iced tea.
  4. I usually am sick within in the hour, very bad D and stomach cramps. I sometimes get very "foggy and sleepy" My head will get heavy and I feel like I am in a zone. I recover from the D within a few hours after taking the Immodium pill. The rest of me feels better anywhere from a few hours to a day or two, depending. It really can vary, if you are very healthy...
  5. My sister actually made mine and this was the first time she ever cooked gluten free. She used the EnerG brown rice load, she didn't have time to look around and this was the bread that Wegmans sold and she just picked it up and used it. She diced and minced fresh celery and then used the Wegmans new culinary stock soup for the chicken broth. It was...
  6. I buy pasta and bread and cookies gluten-free. I shop a lot at the Wegmans and since they label their brand name products gluten free, I buy my soup broths, pasta sauces, dips and etc through the store on the mainstream level. The pasta sauces are very good, there are different flavors which makes it nice. I am not really into buying organic, and since I...
  7. Ours was also good. We were to my parents house for the meal. We had Capon, beans, corn, mashed potatoes, rutabgas, sweet potatoes. I made gluten-free bean casserole, and brought the Grainless Baker pumpkin pie, and I also brought cranberry sauce from the amish farmers market which was real good. My sister made me gluten free stuffing from scratch, very...
  8. I love the Grainless Baker, today I had the regular size pumpkin pie and it was good! Sorry you were feeling sick. I never had any problems. They are actually building a bigger gluten-free bakery at the moment. The butteryfly cookies are heaven!!!
  9. Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg, PA has started to carry the Bell and Evans chicken nuggets and chicken tenders. I bought the chicken nuggets tonight and have got to say that they were great!
  10. I have to agree, the worst part happens the day before the test. I don't remember my colonoscopy or my endo. I had the "twilight sleep" I wish my tests had been the same day, I had the colon a year before then endo and I do remember being very nervous and not really knowing what to expect. Once it was over I just felt a sigh of relief. Good Luck
  11. It is hard when people, especially people you love and are close to you second guess you. Stay gluten free for yourself and for you baby. If you have noticed the changes from when you eat gluten and then when stay away from it, thats all the proof you need. As long as you feel better I would keep on it. It is hard when your husband doesn't believe you and...
  12. Honestly, it may vary person to person. It was a week or so in and there were positive effects I noticed. It all depends how damaged your body is. It is a change when you start feeling better, and when you spirits start lifting it motivates you to stay on the diet. The longer you are on the diet it gets easier. Plus, the food has come along way from...
  13. I would still make the small turkey. I agree about bringing the leftovers to the dinner of things you have made, this way you know Rebecca will eat them and not get sick. You will have piece of mind and the dinner will be more comfortable. My mom is a picky eater, so we have never had a stuffed turkey, it has always been plain. I am thankful for that now...
  14. Happy Birthday!!!! I am so glad to hear that they bought you something you can enjoy. It makes you feel better about the whole situation. My coworkers made me gluten free cheesecake cupcakes with fresh cheeries on top for my birthday gift. It is tradition that everyone gets their favorite cake on their birthday. I was glad that they made sure I could...
  15. I work in a large hospital and it is very depressing that they don't serve anything gluten free. I bring my own lunch anyway, since it saves a ton of money. Too bad though, in my gluten days I ate a lot of hospital meals since they were actually very good. I think they should provide more options. I know they provide gluten free meals for inpatients.
  16. I saw the report for next Monday...snow showers, fiance is already excited.....I am just depressed, I am a summer person, barefoot, beaches, fresh fruit from the road stands, county fairs, not snow and layers of clothing.
  17. I bought the Frosted Perky O's from the Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg, it was good. I used to eat cereal dry as a snack, so I miss apple jacks, waffle crisp, and all those other things. I have not cared for the Enjoy Life granola yet. Dora cereal is good though.
  18. you know when you travel many miles to go visit a Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or other store because you heard of the baked items they carry you get excited when you find a store-bought cookie which is not only soft but doesn't taste like card board. you shop at Wegmans and can proudly show your friends the little yellow circle with the "G" on the...
  19. I believe it is. I know it is used for treating certain types of cancer. I work at a Cancer Institute doing clinical trials so I have seen it used for that. I can inquire some more tomorrow at work and see too. This is interesting, I googled it and found this https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-56103593564.79
  20. I had this happen a few months ago, I had gotten allergies to the Maine Coon cat we adopted. I was put on Allegra. 1 week after being on the Allegra I noticed my legs felt very strange, pins and needles and almost as if they were falling asleep. I couldn't figure it out, but as I got used to my cat I stopped taking the Allegra, and within 2-3 weeks the feeling...
  21. Sometimes I noticed my replies don't always pop right up and sometimes they do, so I usually wait a few minutes and then hit the view new posts button.
  22. I also find no concrete evidence in those articles. It is personal choice. Like the above posters, the pig is very clean and has a digestive tract similiar to ours. Those articles are out there putting more fear and confusion into our brains. I eat pork still, it may not be everyday but it is frequent enough. I have no problems at all. If you choose not...
  23. I live at Wegmans, that has been my fave store for years!!! They do alot for people like us. I usually shop at the Scranton PA store since it is near my familie's house, but in 2007 they are opening a store in Harrisburg where I live. I can't wait. You should try their new Culinary Soup Stocks, all gluten free and they are very good. I have made very good...
  24. Thank You so much!!! I bought the cream biscuits and the sandwich bread. This store actually did not have that good of a selection so I was not as impressed. Hopefully I will be going towards Philly in a few weeks and I hear there are some out that way.
