ARCHIVED Whole Foods
blueeyedmanda replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was to the Whole Foods today, for the first time. I had got some advice from a fellow member about their bakery section. I enjoyed that they had alot to choose from in that section. I was disappointed about the rest of the store. They only carried Deboles pasta, and everything was mixed in together. The store was crowded so you didn't really have a chance... -
ARCHIVED Whole Foods Baltimore
blueeyedmanda posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am hoping someone out there can help me. I have never been to a Whole Foods, we have none in the area where I live. My finace told me he would take me to the Whole Foods in Baltimore tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone has shopped at this store, and can tell me which of the Bakery Foods are really good. Also does anyone know if they carry the Bell and... -
ARCHIVED Corn Tortillas?
blueeyedmanda replied to JeanC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have ate the Mission corn tortillias without a problem. For wrap sandwichs I buy a different brand, not even sure what the name is but I bought them for the first time at Wegmans, in the Taco aisle. They were room temp. I paid a 1.50 and got a bag of 50 which is more than I needed but it seems as if they last a long time. I did put them in the fridge... -

ARCHIVED I Want To Scream And Have A Meltdown!
blueeyedmanda replied to Turtle's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Poor Turtle, I feel for you. Sometimes people just don't understand and it just makes you feel so small and unheard. How much would it kill her to look past the fact that you will bring your own food. Would she rather you get too sick to attend her wedding. I know you are friends with the bride and her parents and that makes this situation even harder... -
Jenvan-Jealousy can work. I make Gluten Free Pantry's triple fudge brownies....then sometimes I let them sit out on the desk. I once shared a plate of them and they were gone within 10 minutes. You are right, sometimes people are ignorant of the situation. Example: Last week it was bosses day on Monday I believe, well out of the blue everyone figured...

It is cold here too! I have grown up and still live in PA but I am a summer girl at heart. Let's face it winter/cold lasts at least six months here. We get summer for 3 short months. I was shivering on the walk up to work today. I am thinking it is time to bring the winter coat out. My mom is in NEPA and they are forecasting snow showers where she is....

My coworkers at my job (guess I am not all that new anymore since Ihave been here a year) go out to eat to celebrate birthdays and sometimes like to order in. I have one coworker who always asked dumb questions until I was out at a birthday lunch gathering and she was throwing pizza in my face. I pretty much embarrassed her in front of everyone. She just...

ARCHIVED Where Do You Shop?
blueeyedmanda replied to FeedIndy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't have a Whole foods/Wild Oats/ Trader Joe's around me. I do most of my shopping at Wegmans in Scranton at the moment. Soon our new Wegmans is going to be built and then I will have a local one! I also shop at the Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg, the couple who runs that store are very helpful and so friendly. I enjoy going there and the selection... -
ARCHIVED Wild Oats V. Whole Foods
blueeyedmanda replied to Robina's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have neither store, but I do have the Wegmans and they are only in NY, PA, NJ and recently started to branch off in MD and Virigina. I wish the Whole foods was closer, I want to try the bakery. I hear good things on this board about stuff there. -
ARCHIVED Wegman's Culinary Soup Broths
blueeyedmanda posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
While shopping at Wegmans over the weekend I came across a new product which I was excited to see. They have 4 soup broths in the boxs (the liquid broth) All are gluten free labeled on the box. One is chicken, one is beef, one is veggie, and one is thai. They were $2 or so. I know between College Inn and Swanson there has been questions but this had the little... -
ARCHIVED Manicotti Or Jumbo Shells
blueeyedmanda replied to IsAMom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have purchased the Jumbo shells from Tinkyada and made cheese stuffed shells. They were so good. I even passed them off to my gluten-consuming coworkers who really didn't know the difference. I stocked up over the weekend on Tinkyada pasta, Wegmans had a sale on it. Much cheapier than what I have to pay in my gluten-free stores. A bag of penne was 2.15... -

blueeyedmanda replied to chgomom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You get excited when you find a cookie or cake or anything that tastes almost as good as wheat infested food. Seems like a dream but that was how I felt the first time I had some butterfly cookies by The Grainless Baker -
I have never had problems at my Outback, they have always been wonderful. I always order the Alice Springs Chicken, once I find a favorite I just keep sticking to it. I get a baked potato instead of the fries. Well, that day I felt like something different so I ordered the garlic mashed potatoes. On the web it said gluten-free. Well we do curbside take-away...

ARCHIVED Book Suggestions For 9 Year Old Girls
blueeyedmanda replied to 2Boys4Me's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Nancy Drew was always one of my favorites, I am not sure if The Box Car children are mystery or off the top what reading level they are either. I enjoyed the Goosebumps series and RL Stine also makes other books that have the creepy feel to them. When I was 10, The Baby-sitters Club books were hot, think that has faded now and they may not even still make... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Ice Cream?
blueeyedmanda replied to hannahsue01's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I get Turkey Hill ice cream, Wegmans has a listing of gluten-free ice creams and I recommend the Peanut Butter cup, and my personal favorite although pricey...Hagen Daz Creme Burlee. I only eat a few spoonfuls at a time since a pint is almost as much as some brands gallons. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Beer At Outback!
blueeyedmanda replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Guhlia, As you neighbor over here in Hershey, I agree the laws are more than silly. Would it kill them to lighten a little. It probably about brought the state to it's knees when they decided to open the spirits shops on Sunday. I am glad you got your Outback to carry the beer, you are awesome!!! -
ARCHIVED Desperate For A Safe Candy

I have not had a reaction to the candies either and I could go for a snickers bar right now. You should check for other intolerances though, because there could be something getting overlooked. -
