Cheri A replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The first cake that my dd has liked is the basic white cake recipe here in the recipe section. I also have to replace the eggs and added Dr. Oetker's vanilla pudding to it. Another poster (thanks Liz) posted about that!! I have made it as cupcakes too. -

Cheri A replied to Cheri A's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you, thank you , thank you!! I'll post how it is tommorrow! -
A while ago Kasey'sMom shared a link that had a bunch of recipes for Vance's Dari-Free. One of them was a whipped topping. I have the link, but it's not working. I was wondering if anyone copied it and would re-post it? I gotta come up w/a whipped topping for tommorrow morning for Carleigh's VBS snack. Thanks!

There's no drooling icon ... I SO want a KA someday. Guhlia, I have no helpful advice. But that is a really nice sounding machine! I would probably go for it! But then, I did not replace all my appliances and she has seemed to be ok.

ARCHIVED Eosiniphilic Disorders
Cheri A replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Ok ~ I thought that you could read the general boards, but not post. And, like I said, I KNOW there are scholarships that are there for those that need it. They WANT everyone who needs to be there to have access and I will find out who/how to contact them to get you on to ask those questions. There is a whole folder designated to EOS and I'm sure they... -

YW! I'm over there too. If you can't read, let me know and I'll find out how we can get you on over there... some of the ladies there are SO knowledgeable and have lots of experience. -
You're right, Carla. I was getting ahead of myself being excited b/c we haven't eaten any fast food (there or anywhere else) since January. I was thinking that it might be an option when we are travelling for my dd. Never mind...

Cheri A replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
TCA ~ go to this website RIGHT NOW! www.kidswithfoodallergies.com It costs some to join and be able to post, but I think that you can read without joining. I also know that scholarships are available. There are several people that deal with that on the board. ((hugz)) -
We have not had luck at Applebees. The few times we tried, she got sick.

Hey all ~ this article was posted on another board I go to about Wendy's. I didn't see another thread yet, so I thought you all would be interested. I'm happy to see this! Open Original Shared Link

Which Seasoning Brand Do You Use?
Cheri A replied to mart's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to use Lawrys Season Salt on EVERYTHING.. It made my daughter sick. I now use Mrs. Dash (love that stuff), McCormicks Garlic Powder, Salt and Pepper. I also have tried Gluten Free Pantrys Taco Seasoning and it was fine. -

Cheri A replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Sorry to confuse you with another recipe in the thread. Nope ~ you don't mix the yeast w/the water. But, it does work! And, yep ~ this is the recipe I use to make the hamburger buns. -

Congrats!! Would love to see a pic too someday! I am waiting for the first cake decorating class to come around at Michaels so I can learn to make pretty cakes! Do you think that the recipes in that book would sub well w/sorghum flour instead of brown rice? at Rupert! Very cute cake!! Let us know how that coconut cake comes...

ARCHIVED Darifree Chocloate Ice Cream
Cheri A replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Think I'll skip the avocados.. We just finished up the last of the ice cream ... as Frostys! I made hamburgers and hot dogs with Alexia fries for lunch and Nick was crabbing that we never get to eat at Wendy's or McDs. He wanted a milkshake so I took out the leftovers and let it get mushy. Then threw it in the blender w/some Hersheys chocolate..... -

Cheri A replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Vincent ~ what kind of container did you store the leftovers in? I used a tupperware container and it was ROCK solid last night when I took it out. Maybe I'll plan to have no leftovers next time -
ARCHIVED Kids Helping Others Learn About Celiac
Cheri A replied to chrissy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That is great! My dd is also good about educating all of those around her, even at 7 years old. There were four kids that are allergic to peanut butter in her class this year and the teacher did a great job of keeping our kids safe by asking people not to send peanut snacks into the classroom. Several times kids did bring something and the teacher...
