  1. Don't forget to eat lot's of yogurt...I can only imagine what an antibiotic of that strength would do to your digestive tract, not to mention the lady parts That might be part of the tummy problems, it's killing off your good bacteria, too
  2. Yeah, I should have mentioned that, I just got so used to fixing the translation when I did homework that I forgot. It works best if you're translating from the other language to english, because then it's easier to figure out what they meant in the other language.
  3. You know what the dumb thing about this lawsuit, well, one of the dumb things, is that McDonald's food is CRAP! You can't get an ulcer from an isolated incident with a kid size fry... So she's suing because she repeatedly fed her sickly child with fast food french fries? Dum-bass. Maybe her health insurance should sue her for making her child...
  4. I've read that remembering your dreams isn't a good thing. You dream in REM, and if you remember your dreams you were pulled out of REM abruptly. Therefore, you're not as well rested because the sleep cycle was interrupted at the same time.
  5. Maybe it was the overdose of vitamins? I know my tummy can't handle large doses of vitamins at all
  6. Nope, Ovaltine is very shelf stable and not that popular so it'll probably take a while to get their inventory cleared out enough to have an allergy statement on there No allergy statement at all, but I looked at the malt ones to compare labeling, and they had parentheses around things like whey (milk) and malt (barley), so maybe they label that way...
  7. I am perpetually amazed by the shallowness of people Each day, I wake up with a renewed faith in humanity. And then I get out of bed... And celiac isn't that big of a deal as a disease really, it's not terminal cancer or AIDS or ALS or any one of the horrific diseases there are out there. People would get divorced over not being able to eat at...
  8. I'm finding some conflicting information about our friend Ovaltine... I know the malt and chocolate malt are obviously a no, but what about the Rich Chocolate flavor? I thought I saw somewhere it was gluten-free... I thought it would be good for getting extra vitamins, since I have a lot of trouble taking vitamins. Also, it's my ultimate comfort...
  9. That's me! Second year of college and everything! I don't know how I'm going to deal with not having D all of the time because for so long my thinking was, "well, at least it's making me lose weight". Not healthy. It also doesn't help when dr's tell you it's all in your head, or that you're too stressed out, or whatever. Hang in there, you've...
  10. I haven't had a problem with their Santitas chips. They have both yellow and white corn. They only come in one flavor, and they have three ingredients: Corn, vegetable oil, salt They were my favorite before, but I'm in love with them now
  11. I know I've said this before, but it's time for the McDonald's PR guy to find a new job. Idiot. And people love to sue McDonald's for all kinds of stupid stuff. Cases in point: -Parents to lazy to cook meals for their children have obese children who will eat nothing but double cheeseburgers -Woman stupid enough to put "WARNING: CONTENTS MAY...
  12. Yep, Austin. I feel blessed to live in the one city in Texas where there are a ton of health nuts (thanks, Lance) and therefore a lot of healthfood stores, not to mention the landmark store for whole foods
  13. I agree, there's worse ways to spend money. Wheat is good for most people, just not us Well, good for people in a whole grain form... Though I do miss fruit loops
  14. Anyone know anything about Mentadent?
  15. A little off topic, but... Lollie- You must be in either central or east Texas to have both of those options! I find that I feel like I'm being ripped off at Central Market, because many of the same things are available and cheaper at HEB... ...and HEB clearly sends all of their GOOD produce to Central Market
  16. I'm still really psyched about the blood sugar seeming to even out, never expected that! I was actually expecting it to get worse without having whole wheat whatevers... And my mood, hot dang! (DH appreciates that one!) I get to shop in Whole Foods and Central Market now, where DH wouldn't let me go because I'm too much of a foodie to not...
  17. Hmm...conflicting information... Oh well, I know the dr said I have the non-diabetes causing one... She was sure to calm me down and tell me, because I went tearing into the health center first thing in the morning to test my blood because I was so paranoid after too much time on webmd DH forbade me from going on webmd, not good for the nerves...
  18. "Only fools and children tell the truth"
  19. I think it's time for the PR guy at McDonald's to find a new job Unless it was their goal to look like they have their heads up their butts...
  20. Find another Dr that uses what I like to call the "duh" approach: Tests inconclusive? Try the diet, if it works you've got it and you know how to treat it. Duh. Saves everyone time, money, and suffering
  21. Maybe you're just allergic to your husband Just kidding... Your systems kind of go into overdrive and all kinds of chemicals are released, maybe you picked up gluten from somewhere and you react more because all of your body chemicals get thrown around? Best I could think of...
  22. I've found that the cheese or egg does help, granted, it takes a few minutes more to work and it's harder to swallow when you're feeling like crap, but it buys you more time before your next food. I know that drinking a coke or eating sugar only buys me about half an hour before I need to find protein. It's all about the protein
  23. I think I remember my nerdy engineer DH saying that acrylic is a polymer...synthetic Acryl Acid.....lots of chemicals, nothing organic I don't think there'd be gluten in that
  24. My mom goes into "feed Chelsea" mode when I get shaky and nauseated and basically shoves a block of cheese or a boiled egg down my throat. A bowl of cereal for breakfast is a cardinal sin in her house There was nothing worse than having mono, unable to eat, swallow, or move and being siphoned protein shakes through a straw by force I...
  25. I believe this list has saved my life on more than one occasion, I usually keep a coke in the car for this reason: Open Original Shared Link Also, I've read that there are two types of hypoglycemia, one is a precursor to diabetes, the other isn't. The one that is a precursor is when you wake up with low blood sugar and have low blood sugar between meals...
