  1. In my opinion I would go with this option... I would however phrase it more in a lightened manner such as "whatcha gonna trade for it?" or "What'd ya bring to trade?"   2. I have simular issues with my family, I have intollerance at the least my cousin (maternal)is a diag'ed celiac disease altho i hear she cheats quite frequently on the diet... I have tried to get my mother and sister to at least concider the possibility and so far my sister just ignores me and my mother now is "thinking about it" Patience is a virtue...

  4. I almost know how you feel... sitting on the engines 12 hours day in day out for hours on end banging up and down with out much suspention to speak of and OMG I feel it after a week or so.... Last trip I had an old "SD-40" that had seen better day 20 years ago, last night..... all night..... for 12 hours..... in that uncomfortable seat and I am feeling it...

  7. Welcome, it may not seem it now but you can get thru this, we all did and you can also.... You will have good days and bad days but heck thats life in general so why should this be any different right, lol... depending on your dairy situation (and any others) and mostly for your daughter as I recall when I was that age pizza rules the world.... still...

  9. Sorry I can't help you on the test results, I never could get anyone to actually test me... diet works I stick to it.... So lets assume it is celiac disease... You start with the basics...... Start with food.... basic meat and veggie's until you get past step 2... step 2 is learn to label read..... its not easy but you will need to learn step...

  13. I have the following to offer.... In my pre-gluten-free days I used a bread machine and didnt like the recipes, not to mention it was a real pain to get out of the machine... After figuring out myself that celiac disease was a "very possible" issue and learning the symptoms, I figure I have been misdx'ed for about half my life... this could have been caught when I was a teen if not sooner. My last dr (which I fired for stupidity) kept insisting I had "acid reflux" and gee guess what the pills DID NOT help this should have flown...

  17. The "healing time" is very hard to narrow down.... every one of us has a different amount of damage done and each of us heals differently than others... I do believe however that children will heal quite quickly for a couple of reasons.... 1) they are still growing 2) they dont have 40 years of damage to heal

Well, this was a welcome post for me believe it or not, I just returned from work and logged in and see this post...... haven't laughed so hard in a couple day and I needed a good laugh... cured.... sheeshhhhhh and it only took 4 months amazing...... I haven't tried any except "cause your special" brand cake mixes.... my MIL made a few for my anniversary party and everyone loved it, many were shocked to see me eating it and were scared I would get sick.... then when I told them it was gluten free the look on their face was classic! and their brownie mix is to die for..... hubby never wants the other...

Not so much a "checklist" but heres a few things to doublecheck.... dont give up it takes a while to get back into shape and get the diet down Non-kitchen items: hand lotions shampoo/conditioners Kitchen and food related things: doublecheck all labels on food in your cupboards including spices and seasonings stay clear of dairy for a while...

  22. Interesting as I recently have been led to think I may have soy issues as well, will see what happens with the food diary for that for now however.
  23. I toured "hammonds candies" out of Denver last month, and from all appearances theirs are gluten-free as well... not sure about the cc issue with the other candy they make in the factory however.... I didn have a "sample" candy cane while there and did not get ill
  24. You may want to check out a problem called RLS (restless leg syndrome) I have a minor case of it but it has decreased in severity with the gluten-free diet.... go figure! At night my issues have decreased manyfold, now I just have the daylight problems, but on the bright side my almost contant movement of my legs and feet give me awesome looking legs, lol...
  25. Seems to me your hubby needs a small life lesson! lets see what we can think of........ Stubbing toe in middle of the night next to 2yo's door...... nope, not harsh enough..... OOOHHHHHH I GOT ONE!!! HE gets tested and finds out he has celiac disease also and lives thru a few months of "just a little wont hurt ya" before he realizes it does!
