  1. ok First i will confess, i did not read your full email. it was very personal. The current event of my situation. my sister-in-law is not speaking to me, and has convinced another sister-in-law not to speak to me. my daughter is having more medical testing done. now my dream... my father-in-law has been dead for 14 years often comes to me in dreams...
  2. I just happen to have a bag of figs here so I can suggest Sun~Maid Califonias Mission Figs. Ingredients-Dried figs with potassium sorbaste added as a preservative.
  3. I have no personal experience with William's Syndrome. I am on a search for answers for my daughter's issues. (kind of a "research junkie" way of dealing with things) She has been diagnosed with Celiac since she was 16 months old, Eosinophilic Esophagitis when she was 6, vitamin D defiency &precocious puberty at 10 (now), and I'm not sure if doctors...
  4. Welcome back! ((HUGS)) You sure are proving "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"! (now back over to your other post....)
  5. I just a heard a cleaning tip for cleaning up after basement floods..... Old fashioned (non cream) 30 volume hair peroxide. Mix 1/4 part peroxide to 3/4 water in a spray bottle. Wear gloves and mist onto the moistened areas. Leave the area for a while. Come back and wipe off. Supposed to be as effective as bleach for stopping mold growth, without the...

    ARCHIVED Alopecia

I had eyeshadow available to try out what shade of color would look best. Really use the products designed for this special purpose. I have heard about Joan River's products (QVC does great promotion for products). There are other products that are color fibers shaped like miniature feathers or pipe cleaners to clump and grab onto natural hair. As...

    ARCHIVED Alopecia

I worked with a hair client that was missing large patches of hair. It worked best with minimal (long) layers. Literally the ends of the hair are cut in points. Like VVVVVVVV Point cutting can also help with natural wave/curl. (On fine hair a straight line _________ shows how thin the hair is. If you are able to tolerate hair coloring..... Use a gel...
  8. Enjoying the A.C right now. The real trouble starts later into the afternoon. The heat kicks up thunderstorms, and there is a risk of losing power.
  9. Do you have any specifics to the damage in your esophagus? In my daughter's case of Eosinophilic Esophagitis, there is an airborn allergen as well as food "triggers". (More cases are diagnosed by symptoms that "flare up" late summer to early fall.) Here is the odd part. There is a connection to Celiac and EE. A major gluten free product line uses...
  10. We opted for electric. Just because all the knobs for gas appliances are in the front. We had young kids and it just seemed too dangerous to have the knobs in reach. Now I'm just used to using an electric stove.
  11. Double check the house and hygiene products. 2 is tough, because a 2 year old will eat dog food and such. If the symptoms persist, go back to the doctor. Was your child scoped for the diagnoses? Unfortunately many gut issues present with the same symptoms and some of these issues tend to have a higher connection to Celiac. i.e. H. Ployri. infection...
  12. I will try them! Dedicated lines and that they are "made for those with diet restrictions" means they are taking the time to make Celiac friendly products. Celiac Specialties of Rochester, MI makes an excellent glazed donut. They do have on-line sales from their website.(If you really want a great donut and have the $.) They do contain eggs.
  13. Went for a quick vacation. (Mackinac Island, MI) She started on the supplements and was very excited about the trip. She was out in the sun for the past few days and really has regained energy quick! (Best kind of medicine ~ sunshine and fun!)
  14. Just to update and old thread. Mackinac Island is definitely a gluten free friendly place. 21 Speed Grille even had a sign in the window. I was very happy with my lunch and enjoyed a hot sandwich on a gluten free bun! Murray's is now my favorite fudge from the island. It is "the creamiest" texture. (Use the same common sense as ice cream choices...
  15. It has been standard procedure to do the patients by age. The youngest ones first. Remember the biopsy can rule out other issues too. It will give a baseline of any damage to be healed. Like most have said, it seems harder on the parents. Keeping your little one "resting" after the procedure may be a challenge.
  16. Ok. Doc called and said it is a vitamin D defiency. We will start supplementing and get a recheck in a month. I do want to see all the results in my hand, but I will request it for the recheck appointment.
  17. I just checked some simple sites. CBC should have a platelet count, but may not have results for Mean platelet count or platelet distribution count. I do have this nagging gut feeling that Eosinophilic Disorders are actually a blood disorder. These disorders are many treated by gastroenterologists by the systems (and high counts) are through the gi...
  18. My daughter is having some issues again. quick history.... Diagnosed probable Celiac when she was 16 months old. Vomitted blood when she was 6 (bad virus was going around). Went on to be diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. (The other symptoms leading up to this, vomitting up to 5 times a day, her whole gut hurt, bad headaches, dark circles under...
  19. Try supplementing Biotin. Biotin is normally found in the diet by eating animal liver. (Most athletes have been advised not to eat animal liver, because it can lead to testing positive for some PEDs.) I have found no evidence of any toxic level of Biotin supplementation. It even seemed to have helped my thyroid condition. (after 15 years on thyroid...
  20. You need a refferal to a gastroenterologist. Celiac and gluten intolerance symptoms do match a few other disorders. (H. Ploryi infection, hernia, Eosinophilic disorders, parasite infection, and a few others) An endoscopy with biopsy can help rule out or diagnose your illness. I would love to visit your doctor and show him how food intolerance can produce...
  21. Well my daughter has Celiac and Eosinophilic Esophagitis. The EE needs to be diagnosed with and endoscopy with biopsy too. H. Ployri infection, parasites, congenital defect, amount oof Celiac damage, and other disorders can be ruled in or out. It is important to know what you are dealing with and if any types of medications might help heal your child...
  22. Black Celebration, Depeche Mode
  23. My tried for increasing milk supply, eat a plain Hershey's chocolate bar. I think it just gives the extra calories and fat for the diet.
  24. Hi. I am a mom who has a daughter with Celiac and EE. Early steps of EE diagnoses are to prescribe a modified steroid inhaler. (modified to makes the droplets to swallow, not inhale. It would be best to avoid this if you can, it can also cause a thrush infection.) We had to do an elimination diet to identify "triggers". Gluten free, all top...
  25. A difference between hamburger buns and bread? Are you using a contaminated toaster? Start looking for another sensitivity. (Usually the top 8 allergens are a good place to start Eggs, soy, dairy~ down to casein protein) Now consider some are sensitive to xanthan gum, guar gum, and pea protein is showing to be more of a reactive allergen for some people...
