  1. My daughter was diagnosed as probable Celiac when she was 17 months. She is 8 years old now. From my memory that looks like some of her "Celiac" poop. Some had undigested food, mucus blobs, really it was just nasty, nasty stuff. Seemed like her but just got raw from mere seconds of contact with it.
  2. Yup. It happened to me after being gluten free for about 6 years. Get the gallbladder out and you will feel so much better.
  3. He should be reffered to a ped. gastro. from the pictures alone. The doctor should realize the force of the bm is so strong is blows up the child's back when it hits the diaper. You can not stop giving him gluten until the testing is done!
  4. The only thing that concerns me is your severe GERD symptoms "throughout" your digestive system. Celiac testing. You have to keep eating gluten for the regular testing. The genetic testing is not as accurate as 98%. Even the most reputable company back pedaled on the accuracy saying, human error can account for at least 30% error rate, genes mutate from...
  5. I have read some patient study reports that a gluten free diet was helping schizophrenia patients.
  6. Please work with a doctor. There are other diseases that also fall into these symptoms. The symptoms for Eosinophilic Esophagitus were the same as when my daughter was glutened and GERD. These symptoms suggest you should have an endoscope with biopsy.
  7. (((HUGS))) Better to stay home when you aren't feeling well. I have a feeling your dad was just going to yell, better over the phone than in person.
  8. Don't give up hope, and don't stop eating gluten until your testing is done. Yes, it's true a lot of Celiac is mis diagnosed as IBS. You need to work with a gastroenterologist and you will need an endoscopy with biopsy.
  9. My fingers are crossed, but I will say some prayers too! Almost there! If your son is young enoughthe hospital will dote on him. If he is older get him something special for going through all this.
  10. I think if a restaurant refused to serve someone based on the fact they are FAT, the restaurant would get sued. So we are just too quick to threaten lawsuit.
  11. I will probably have to get an implant soon. Front cap that had 3 root canals, two apicodetomies (the bakwards root canal) will probably fail soon. Let me know how it goes. I heard more dental insurances are covering it now. Good Luck
  12. Milk supply has a hormonal, emotional, and sometimes physical. It could have all happened because you looked at your baby or heard your baby cry. No lie, I saw a seventy year old woman wet her shirt because of a crying baby. Sometimes it just can happen and it doesn't make any sense.
  13. Yes. My daughter threw up after eating, and also had "D" before she was diagnosed with "probable" Celiac at 17 months. She also threw up and had "D" again after eating and up to 5-8 times a day. She was then diagnosed with Eosionophilic Esophagitus when she was 6. Demand to se a ped. gastro. and get the testing done. Vomitting does cause damage to...
  14. Labrynthitis. Is an infection very deep in the ear canal caused from a virus. Some patients have been put on permanent disabilitly. I had it about 9 years ago and I was so dizzy trying to stand up it would cause me to vomit. I have had a full recovery.
  15. It was mentioned but KEEP EATING GLUTEN during testing! The problem is the symptoms for Celiac and gluten sensitivity are associated with other disorders. Gluten can also be a "trigger" for other disorders or just known to excerbate other illnesses. It would be best to get a proper diagnoses. If you end up being diagnosed with another illness, you can...
  16. My son went gluten free when he was 5. He is now 12 and his dental maturity is 2 years ahead. Odd I know but then Norwegian children are found to be ahead in dental maturity. We do have some Scandinavian roots. His enamel is missing in grooves and he has had some cavities filled. The last time at the dentist she did a cosmetic "bonding" of a white sealant...
  17. Try and have some frozen things to soothe the burning in your chest for the "GERD". Popscicles, Slurpees, fruit sorbets (look for fuits types that can bring down inflammation), and some people suggest frozen banana (I would be careful not to choke on frozen fruit).
  18. Hubby gave up gluten after he glutened me from kissing.
  19. Sorry to play doctor online, it was a lot more fun as a kid Diagnosed with GERD, but what was the Eosinophil count? You are describing Eosinophilic Esophgitus symptoms. It is now being diagnosed more often but still not as often as it should be in some cases. Sometimes the Eosinophils are imbedded in "normal" looking tissue. Eosinohils are active...

    ARCHIVED Celia Disease

Is the doctor going to do any further testing? A Gastro doc would probably do a follow up scope. An allergist immunologist would do testing to see if there is an allergic reaction. If so if you can keep things "normal" during the testing. If you have to go about this all on your own. Keep the food journal, and include all information. We had to remove...
  21. They can actually knock her out with gas or a swallowed medication that will make her not care before the I.V. goes in. They have you together at this point so your child doesnt have any extra stress. She is doing well with EE. It is really managed by eliminating "trigger" foods. It took about a year and a half of elimination diet and rotating back in...
  22. I've read different articles that 30% of Celiacs present with constipation. It has so many different symptoms and body types and doctors just miss the dignoses.
  23. You are right she most likely has Celiac disease from the blood panel. The "gold standard" of diagnoses includes the biopsy. The biopsy at this point can be done to rule out any further disorders and give a baseline as to how much damage has occured. For example my daughter was too ill to have the biopsy at 17 months old and was diagnosed probable celiac...
  24. You are right stay on a "normal" diet for testing. There seems to be many links between Celiac and other disorders. Some Celiacs who have started the gluten free diet have noticed that their GERD resolves. You really didn't go into much detail about your symptoms but since you say Celiac fits them there are other disorders with these symptoms.... Hernia...
  25. You should have been eating gluten to have the test. We you eating gluten when you had the test done?
