  1. Lisa Hope you had a great birthday! Debbie
  2. Thank you guys...I haven't been here in a short while.
  3. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  4. The pest control guy came on Monday and sprayed a residual spray. I cannot throw my mattresses and sofa away right now and replace...... I want to move out in the Spring. I would not attempt to move in the dead of winter as there's too much chance to be having snow and I can't move because the "treatments" aren't over yet. So we will have to...
  5. Lisa, Would your daughter and son in law mind emailing me directly if I have any further questions? I'll be happy to provide you with my email address.....I feel like I need to ask more questions and I'm sure you're probably through with this topic by now.....so let me know then I'll PM you with my email address. Thanks Deb
  6. Lisa, What did you daughter do about stuff like pantyhose, make up bottles, curlers, books that stay in bedroom (I have a wooden bookcase my brother made for me my hand that I cannot part with). What about photgraphs and photo albums? Was the nest right in the box spring itself, like if you opened it up with a knife they'd be in there? I have...
  7. I'd like to try that - doesn't the freezer have to be at 0 degrees faraghenheit (spelling is way off!)?
  8. Dear Lisa: Thanks for your response...I want to understand better...your daughter unknowingly moved into an infested apartment and the apt was professionally treated twice, and then she and husband moved again (?) and now they are Ok, but understandably paranoid. Did they move the second time because they just couldn't get rid of the bed bugs? Did...
  9. Dear Kahle Family: My husband enjoyed great health until his celiac was trigged at age 27 and life certainly changed for him. Again, he had he potential for the disease in him all those years, but a blood infection brought it to the forefront. He is not aware of any of his parents or ancestors as having celiac but he's certain his sister has it but won...
  10. I am embarrassed to say I believe that I have Bed bugs. I have not done any traveling to hotels or purchased any new or used furniture or used clothing or gone anywhere different. I live in an apartment building and websites on this topic do say that they can migrate into other units. I am very, very upset - I am crying constantly and that isn't...
  11. She knows his dietary gluten issues - this isn't news to her. She just refuses to take the trouble to make accomodation for it. For instance, she announced that we're to have this funeral luncheon and I expect to "chip" in for it, but of course, it's without concern for my husband's gluten-free diet. We see her very, very often and she knows...
  12. Does anyone know if their foundation products are gluten-free? Inasmuch as I am not celiac, I am concerned about wearing anything which could transfer over to my husband's face if he hugged or kissed me. I believe in gluten-free kisses and hugs
  13. For this post my definition of "outsiders" is a non-celiac who knows nothing about celiac and gluten-free diet. I think the problem is as such: Celiacs without on-going health-related problems are able to participate in normal activities, as well they should. The "outsiders" view this as, "Oh, so celiacs are able to participate." But...
  14. Salon I go to uses a hair spray with wheat germ oil in it (Vitamin E). I didn't get the manufacturers name but just wanted to put this out there as a warning.
  15. My husband has celiac his sister, so far, does not. Their mother is in hospice and they are discussing the funeral arrangements. So she says she wants a "get together" at a restaurant after the funeral - a place we are not familar with. She tells me that it'll be a small gathering, etc. and as to my husband's diet, "we really don't have to...
  16. Put your foot down. This teacher must either change to accomodate the students' needs or retire as she's a danger to her charges.
  17. Husband had ups and downs a lot for few few months in the "adjustment Period" - perhaps unintentional glutening happened. Once he got on correct track, there was still some ups and downs - total "up and downs" time was one year.
  18. My husband's sister doesn't "get it" either. We no longer eat over her place (she lives in an apt. over her mother's apartment). This is why we don't eat there any longer and boy am I happy about it - I got so sick and tired of having to to MIL's every Friday after work when I really wanted to go OUT to dinner or go HOME and eat my own food: After...
  19. How did you think you contracted it? How long did it last? How sick did it make you? Were you ever as sick as this before as you can remember? Did you take Tamiflu (or the other anti-viral medication)? Do you think it helped? Do you have other health issues which contributed to you succumbing to Swine Flu? Do you have other health issues which contributed...
  20. ...keep in mind that universal health care may make it that flu shots and other immunizations are mandatory to keep the population as a whole healthy. I do not want anyone to dictate to me how I must medicate myself.....govt. sponsorship=govt. control.
  21. I am the same way, like commercial syrups over real maple syrup but I now use it like such When I have pancakes, I pour out a little regular syrup in a bowl and mix in a little real maple syrup and use the mixed syrups just like that. The real maple syrup does improve the regular commercial syrup's flavor, but doesn't over power it.
  22. Mike has other food intolerances - see in ending message line
  23. Congratulations! Much Happiness to You
  24. This thread has been very helpful. I had been wondering about Five Guys for sometime now and now will do 2 things: 1) visit their website to look into their position on "gluten free" 2) take the time to visit Five Guys when they are not busy and discuss my husband's gluten free needs. It is exciting to find new places to eat which provide gluten...
  25. I think that there is a connection between gallbaldder disease and pancreatitis. Perhaps Maycoclinic.com can shed some light.
