  1. I think that part of the added cost is the shipping....I think everything is baked in their No. Carolina facility and shipped to the stores. That's also what's pumping up the cost. the stuff isn't made on premises on each WF store.
  2. RE: low iron Does the iron level have to be below the norm? Anyone else have normal iron levels and RLS? (hubby's situation). Also for him, anti depressants make RLS a lot worse - to point need to stop the anti depressants immediately.
  3. ..don't know if you are female but I had this and it turned out to be ovarian cysts....I originally guessed it was diverticulousis (spellling?).
  4. Response from the people at Clan Thompson who called them at my request of which I am grateful. Hi, I talked to Taylor Provisions of Trenton, NJ. They said that they use no gluten containing grains in the ingredients used to make their Taylor Hams. However, there could be "cross contamination from wheat fed to the animals." I asked them if the only...
  5. I recall with Arrowhead that when questionned, you never get the same gluten-free information twice. Sometimes they say Yes sometimes they said possible cross contamination. etc.
  6. In my humble opinion it is a hard-hearted statement as a lot of people on this board originally got sick BEFORE internet and ways to research this. That statement makes us feel like do-do as it implies that we didn't do all we could to research the medical problem - thirty years ago. It makes people who don't have the same resouces as others feel that...
  7. I suppose this would also apply to "maltodextrin?"
  8. Rachel has been posting in all areas prior to the OMG thread starting. She should not have to defend to anyone why she stopped posting activity in other areas - not posting doesn't mean a person isn't reading the other threads. Additionally, I know that during her initial time of OMG thread Rachel was not well enough to post in other areas and didn...
  9. We slice the bread as soon as it's cool, and store in individual plastic freezer bags (writing the date of baking on the bag) and freeze a few slices in each bag. This way there's always fresh bread.
  10. I only wish the White Bread had more fiber in it per serving. I use rice bran in my home made bread and that increases the fiber content.
  11. I totally agree with you
  12. ....I mised it, what's SIBO?
  13. You sound too honest and forthright to be a politician
  14. Nut CC is important to avoid then. I don't believe that Kinnickinnick 's corn meal or corn flour has pea protein in it, but I'll check it out as my husband can't have the pea or bean flour either. I believe the meal and flour is pure corn but yes, you will have to avoid it due to nut cross contamination then. It's difficult to find gluten-free...
  15. What Vincent is stating is true - and in insurance we call it "adverse selection." Meaning, those most suseptible to having a claim are going to be the people who take out the insurance. For instance, an insurance company starts advertising that they will write Flood Insurance for all - no one is rejected - well everyone who lives near water or gets...
  16. This is not as unusual as it appears ....my husband has a cousin who married a man with similar genes - they found out after a second child was born with a genetic mutation and the couple went through genetic testing in order to find this out...they were told that they had similar genes and not to attempt to have any more children. Both of these people...
  17. If you never ate chocolate with barley malt in it keep in mind that it has a distinctive flavor - there's a underlying grain flavor in the chocolate so if you get malted chocolate by error keep that in mind. I noticed German chocolates use the barley additive.
  18. does anyone know the participants involved in the trial phase?
  19. Hi all: This is a good question - and you're not bothering anyone when you ask about it. I know it is hard to get to all the reading when you are too busy - so that's what us friends are here for. To interchange information on these topics. But after you talk to someone on board about it, look it up or call the manufacturer - I know that might not...

  21. Angie: Thanks for checking....
  22. We've had CC issues with Bob's so I get corn meal and corn flour from Open Original Shared Link when I order their hamburger muffins. There is a $10 shipping fee - maybe a support group near you orders as a "group" and you can get in on it? I also buy xanthan gum and a loaf of bread and rice bran when I order from them so my order gets big. We did...
  23. I'll have to look it up. It was Heartland...I got link from website of www.expandexglutenfree.com
  24. I emailed them asking them for an ingredient statement....
  25. I use gluten-free Pantry Favorite White Bread mix and I don't follow the package directions. I put in 2 eggs; 1.75 cups of water , No butter no margarine, 5 tablespoons of rice bran, 1 teaspoon of guar gum, and in the water I add 1 tsp of salt. (and of course the yeast in the package is used) . My bread machine mixes it (but it can be done by hand...
