  1. Well I am still looking for people who have used this product to advise as to how their baking turned out or if they purchased anything with it to share with us how it tasted, what the texture was. I am not so concerned about how the ingredient is chemically modified and maybe Expandex has a spot on their site which explains the modification issues.
  2. Vitamin B deficiency is good reason for this..but don't discount this as being a symptom of other health problems like diabetes so please get checked out by doctor anyway.
  3. For us we'd suggest that the selections be made in a fashion that it's easy to "hold" other accompanyments; for instance, customer may not want the Fish selection with the spicy gluten-free sauce as the customer cannot eat/tolerate spices and soy (like someone mentioned). Make the selections easy for the chef to make these adaptations. Use gluten...
  4. From the Clan Thompson.com celiac site: "January 24, 2007: Duncan Hines told me today (January 24, 2007) that they no longer consider any of their frostings to be gluten free because they are manufactured in a facility that shares lines with gluten containing products. Also, they would give no information about specific flavors of their frosting when...
  5. It sounds like peripheral neuropathy which is associated with some other health issues - this list is not inclusive: 1) celiac 2) vitamin B deficiency 3) diabetes 4) chemotherapy to name a few.... a good website for medical information is mayoclinic.com
  6. I purchased some and want to try it. Modified food starch is aleady in foods. Maybe if you ask Expandex about how they do it they'll answer you.
  7. I'd like to make this for my husband's birthday in a few weeks..anyone have a receipe on this? Thanks. Debbie
  8. Does anyone have experience with both of these products? Which bread mix is best? Does Kinnikinnck mix need "doctoring up?" Do they taste the same? Do they have the same texture? Which did you prefer? I have experience with gluten-free Pantry FWBM only. I might use Kinnikinnick but wanted to know more info before I did. Thank you.
  9. Has anyone used this new gluten-free baking ingredient? If so, how did it handle? Did it taste good? How were your results? How was the texture of the baked item?
  10. This Zonullin sounds good for celiacs to take as a precaution ..for those who eat out or at relatives houses....eat gluten-free, but in case they ingest gluten unknowingly...like at a wedding or event....not for purposefuly eating of gluten. It would appear to be a good back up plan and my husband is looking forward to this being available. It would provide...

  17. In any event, there's no excuse for deliberately using poisonous materials to make pet food. This is why we should insist that manufacturers KNOW where their products come from and what they are made of. They should test the product before they accept shipment and implementation. Not many people know this but take petroleum for instance....those...
  18. Congratulations! Love my nieces and nehews! Always want to be around them - always sending them cards, postcards, stickers, etc. It's great to have them! Enjoy..
  19. For my husband he had an infection of blood; got antibiotics for it; next thing happened was severe D and gas/bloating that never ended. He lost 30 lbs in about 3 months and doctors Moe, Larry and Curly diagnosed him as 1) Drug addict (Veteran's Hospital) and refused to do any more testing 2) IBS 3) Colitis 4) Mental disorder then he was...

  21. Congratulations! It's good to hear good news once in a while. Wishing you best wishes as well on your upcoming wedding and life together.
  22. It was doing something to the heart (increased heart attack risk I believe).
  23. Two Mile Landing advised me they can accomodate gluten-free
  24. We use real butter ....because more often than not margarines and subsitute butters have more lactose and lactic acid than real butter does and lactose bothers me. Could this be the case for you as product then is gluten-free but perhaps you are sensitive to lactose? Just a thought....
  25. Since my husband has celiac I make sure that my make up and hair and shower gels are gluten free. I wouldn't want him to have to restrict himself from touching or kissing me and I don't want to leave gluten residue in the shower/tub area. Why take the chance? And yes, he did have DH as a symptom for years and we didn't know ......doctor thought it was...
