  1. hubby's B.P. just yesterday was twice taken (he's 56 years old) 1st time: 98/70 2nd Time: 104/72 Kind of low first time (this was after a quarter mile walk to the doctor's office). Pretty good for an old guy. Maybe it's due to celiac somehow after all.
  2. Thank you for the Deglutinzer/security designation. Yep, that's me constantly wiping the kitchen table to avoid any CC after I make my lunch (before I go to work every morning). Switenauer that's a nice internet match story. Good luck Ryan Yes, pink and purple are girly colors. I love when little girls do little girl things and don't grow...
  3. Hello Deborah, I've read your message about Clearskin Invigorating Cleansing Scrub. My name is Stephanie and I'm happy to help you. This item is gluten free. I hope I've helped you. Please keep an eye on our website. We're always trying to improve it for you. Sincerely, Stephanie Avon Information Center Original Message Follows...
  4. hmmmm...I'm Debbie (Midge is my confident, assertive, take no poop alter ego). It appears that you don't have a Gluten Screener in Rachelville. I'd be interested in being the "law" in town so to speak to keep people from sneaking gluten into Rachelville. Sort of like an airport screener. I know Donna is security, so if this is a duplication of duties...
  5. From Debbie 8/15/06: Is there anyway they'll suspend this decision until a Professional can be called in? Aren't there people who specialize in historical construction, design and form? Who can guide your town council on what is best for the structure? Does this Councilman know or own the company who will be doing the vinyl windows? I am sensing...
  6. Well whatcha think Andrea?
  7. RE: OMG thread. I enjoyed being a spectator. I did read ending and missed from page 29-300; but got gist. Town life sounds great. I am only part time gluten-free my husband is 100% FT gluten-free. But I AM a convert leastways and will defend and support Rachelville way of living even though I am an outsider.
  8. I tried Retinol based cream once and got peeling skin with irritation. It's too harsh for some skin types - I've been letting nature take it's course as regards skin. The more I fuss with it, the more problems I create. My husband and I stoped having Friday night dinner at my MIL and SIL's place for this reason (CC) and...
  9. I tried to get thru the OMG thread and ended on page 28.... It seemed like a good party going on there.
  10. Banana Daquiri --- I'll take that medicine

ARCHIVED Celiac Sprue & Doctor Too!

Dr. Russ, Don't take it personally if a thread happens to be angry towards M.D.'s.....sometimes a member vents about their bad experiences with past / present doctors. We had a Dr. (who had celiac) once on the board who really took it too, too personally when members voiced their mistrust about doctors and this Dr. refused to ever come back on...
  12. Zell, please let your wife know she can send me an Email through this message board system and I'll be glad to answer any questions she has as regards being the wife to a celiac person. It turned my life upside down too and I & husband had to find a new way to cope with the challenges and issues and limitations. Several years ago, before celiac...
  13. I was looking at a bag last Saturday and didn't see wheat but I did see that they contain soy, if soy is also an issue for anyone.
  14. Please don't think this is a strange question, but are you on anti depressants? Anti depressants cause strange body shaking in people with RLS (neurologist told my husband this because hubby gets extreme shaking on anti-depressants and he cannot take them due to this.
  15. Last month hubby's neurologist mentioned that neuropathy is associated with RLS. Now the question is is RLS associated with Celiac?
  16. I want it now....I can't wait.....my hubby needs a little topping for his vanilla ice cream. this sounds perfect.
  17. Dr. Sachan, Gastro Specialist Chestnut St. (he just moved to this location from the Morris Ave. location which is closed down) Union, Union County, NJ 07083 I don't have his new phone number. He was the first and only Dr. to properly correctly diagnose my husband. He has other offices in NJ I just don't remember where. (Where in NJ are...
  18. Susan, not to change the subject or interrupt, but if that's a photo of you (in your posts) what are you doing right...you SO do not look any age close to menopause! I figured you to be about 26 years old. You may have to start another thread to give anti aging tips...
  19. sounds great! Two questions: what kind of flour worked best? and what brand of cherries?
  20. Husband (with celiac) has this. This neuropathy started about 7 months after he went 100% gluten-free and he still has it and receives a B12 shot monthly (plus takes sublingual B12s twice a week). He's been neurologically tested upside down and sideways and there's no reason why he should have this condition so one would assume that it's due to the...
  21. that's a great experience (Dr. knowing what to do/say about celiac). It's good to hear good stuff like that.
  22. A lot of school systems over past 10 years have reduced or eliminated their "Home Economics" or "Foods" classes due to underfunding or lack of interest. That could have something to do with some people not knowing that wheat is a grain that is used in bread, cookies, cakes, etc. I don't think the educators have time to talk about it as now...
  23. We had the same experience with a Nutritionist (it was a waste of time and money) and it was paid by insurance as I had a note from the Gastro justifying the need for the visit. I only had to pay the normal co insurance.
  24. For those who were waiting ...drum roll please... Creamies are ice cream bars
