  1. I inadvertently threw this issue away....does anyone have copy of it? In the beginning of mag there's a clothing advertisement of Christie Brinkley and I was saving photo of her hair style to show my beautician...if anyone has this issue could you scan the headshot part and email it to me? Thanks. Deb
  2. One favor, if you happen while in Cape May eat gluten-free at "Two Mile Landing" (great fish place) please let me know...I've attempted to contact them in 2005 about gluten-free dining but didn't get a response. Thanks Debbie
  3. Next question: what level of these symptoms remain as this SID person gets older?
  4. Lynn My sister, aged 42, was diagnosed with latent TB when she was about 20 years old and she has severe asthama too. She opted not to take the panel of anti biotics and knock wood she's healthy and had her second baby last year. It's believed that she was introduced to TB germ thru an elderly family member when she was a child. Hope all goes...
  5. I am familiar with ADD, please explain SID. thanks.
  6. Please reconsider ...you're one of the members of the board who has as lot to offer...board threads will have unusual topics and responses and unless it's damaging information there' s nothing that can be done about that. I think all of us pick and choose which threads we participate in and if the thread deteriorates we can always skip it and go onto another...
  7. sometimes it's best not to mention the Lactose intolerance then.....like Lactaid is a "controlled substance"! During my last operation I brought in Lactaid, Gas pills, motrin, asthma meds, - I hid them in my pocketbook as I knew the "drill." The lactaid and gas pills came in very handy 'cause if I had to wait for the overworked nursing staff to...
  8. as an aside, keep in mind that the Nestle milk chocolate candy has lactose in it, if you're lactose intolerant it'll get you. (I wish they wouldn't put lactose in their chocolate candy but that's another matter).
  9. gfp, what accent? I've never noticed one....
  10. Hubby does not get colds, flu or sore throats in all the years we've been married (27) and he has had celiac disease. I get sick all the time, he never catches it. Only once he came down with something that he needed antibiotic for. Me I look at someone who has a cold and I'm sick too. It's funny but he is getting other immune stuff that would be...
  11. Lyme disease is scary ...knew someone who had it unknowingly at first; after diagnosis she had to go on disability for a year; on heavy anti biotics and it pretty much kept her in bed most of day. Perhaps in Tailz's case she should have a shunning for let's say 6 mos and allowed to return on a "trial" basis. What disturbed me most about the Tailz...
  12. sorry to hear about your frustration with the medical test results and the infection.... Don't stress yourself over this..it'll make you sicker. Stay calm, take the anti biotic and anti viral meds (try to take probiotics too). I know it's hard to accept "what is" and "what can and cannot be changed." That's my husband's situation too. Take...
  13. I think that the reason many people are unsure about ingredients in vitamins (gluten, soy, etc.) is because only until recently did vitamin manufacturers provide that info. For example, my husband and I used GNC brand and in 2004 we asked a GNC store manager and called GNC to find out if they were gluten-free and of course we got the "we can't guarantee...
  14. A person shouldn't be allowed into adulthood unless they know where food comes from. Like sugar comes from sugar cane, white flour is wheat, vanilla is from an ochid bean, ham is from a pig, most carbs are found in food that grows from ground (vegetation) except for milk which is high in carbs; shortening is vegetable fat, butter comes from cream...
  15. I've been on vacation for a while, so I missed some Tavi, sorry you're feeling down about your situation. Penguin, Happy for your weight loss news for you. Judy, always glad to see you around. You're always such an "upward motivating" person to us. I wish I could have your cheeriness. Chelsea: hope you are feeling better Rachel,...
  16. Adelle Welcome! You'll be glad that you came aboard. There's a great group of people here who are very eager to share tips, hints and commiserate with you if you need it. Don't be bashful about joining in any of the threads. Deb
  17. Kristen You've hit the right place! The board is full of help hints, tips, similar stories and feelings. It's only natural to be depressed about this major change in your life...but as long as you don't have other food intolerances you'll do well. You'll learn how to be creative with non gluten ingredients. If you have other food intolerances...
  18. It's great to hear good news! Best wishes for continuing improvement in your health. It's amazing what a simple diet change will do.

  21. really!!? for what? I hope not for asking questions about eating meat in another thread.
  22. I read through all pages and I can't find what the hub-bub was about.... My overall impression was firstly - discussion over to take silver or not 2nd - some doctors are quacks and big pharma wants your money 3rd - is meat acceptable to eat if we read the Old and New Testaments? I never felt Talilz was pushing a religion at any point....
  23. Nice hair & eye....now surprise us with a full face photo.
  24. Just a warning that the Metamucil ingredients can cause non-glutening gas.... Benefiber has added wheat to their product know but yet can claim gluten free staus. Citrucel has caplets are gluten-free
  25. we have not found a low dose nor baby aspirin company that will confirm gluten-free status of their product. (I am speaking about the major brands and don't know about lesser known brands in other states and Canada and UK. and Austrailia
