  1. hi e Im getting married in December in Toronto ( so cant help you with bakeries) but my mom found a place that will make a gluten-free cake in a gluten-free facility. i feel the whole cake should be gluten free or i would probably get sick. i was also considering doing cupcakes and then some could have gluten??!! congrats Jess
  2. Hi Steph NARS says all thier lipsticks and glosses are gluten free but they are kind of expensive. also if you call MAC most of their lipsticks are gluten free- they will tell you over the phone which ones are. Jess

Hi Dana NARS says all thier makeup is gluten free. i use thier eyeshadow, blush, bronzer and lipgloss. its kind of expensive but lasts a long time. you can get it at sephora or department stores. also MAC has a really good list of what is gluten free and what is not but they wont give it out so you have to call them. i use thier lip gloss, eye shadow...
  8. i dont really out- i get to nervous. but ive eaten twice at elephant walk in boston and had soup and salad and had a fab pizza at il fornello in toronto. thats about it! i wish we had some gluten-free italian places in boston!

Hi Monica I should have clarified then when i got really sick in january i lost 12 pounds in a week, so i gained that back over a month oce i was able to eat again. so i was only really underweight for a couple of weeks. the seven pounds are on top of going back to my normal weight of about 118. i'm by no means "over weight" its just i feel really gross...

Hi Lisa Right now i'm on antibiotics too for a bad cough infection. uch i hate antibiotics. im taking doxycyline. ive defintily reacted to antibiots before with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting , d and stomach aches so its probably that. how many days do you have left? hopefully not too many! im only on day 3 Jess

  14. thanks everyone for the great suggestions! when i first went gluten-free i defintley bought all those gluten-free goodies like the brownies, cookies etc.... i would normally not buy them so why i bought them after being gluten-free who knows? i guess i felt bad for myself. i dont buy them anymore but occasionally have a cookie after dinner. im moving this...
  15. Hi Does anyone have a sample of what a doctors note should say to allow you travel with gluten-free food on the plane? i was going to ask my dr but not sure what to ask him to write and how much detail to go into. does anyone already have one. thanks Jess
  16. hi when i go, i just have them use the opi nail polish (which has no gluten). i dont let them use the top coat which does have gluten(one by opi) also i check the ingredient sof the hand cream- the ones by opi that ive seen have not had gluten in them. i also wash my hands when i get home from the manicure in case some gluten touched them.   21. Ive also been getting this in my left hand- but only since ive been gluten free- wierd. it usually happens at night. i alos have dizziness since being gluten free.........so annoying because you hear how weveryone gets so much better and then now i have new probs. jess
  22. sounds like a cold to me. i'm also sick right now with couhging, headache and stuff. i know in boston a lot of bugs are going around- stomach bugs and colds. i always think those things dont go around in teh summer but i geuss they do. make sure your cold medicines are gluten free!
  23. diagnosed 5 months ago at age 27 after being hospitizlied for pancreatitis caused by the undiagnosed celiac. years of being told i had ibs also because of my diagnosis my dad got diagnosed 2 months ago at 60
  24. any person can call child protective service and file an anonymous allegation for medical neglect, abuse or any type of nelect. it does not have to be a social worker. the difference is social workers are mandated to do that and others are not.

As a mandated reported, being a social worker, If I had a client with that situation I woudl probably file with DSS becaue i would have no choice as it would be considered medical neglect. we file all the time if a parent does not give a child a psychiatric medication- it is considered medical neglect until the child is 18.
