I think Snape is still good, but I think he was forced 'magically' to kill Dumbledore as he had an unbreakable oath to Malfoy's mother to ensure he was not harmed.

Just thught you would all like to know that the Mongoli Grill has gluten-free options as well. When we asked the server, she presented a sheet containing the selections that were NOT celiac friendly. I was VERY impressed. Not to mention the food was awesome.

ARCHIVED Pie Crust, Sourdough Bread, Pasta, Beer
Daxin replied to unaspenser's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
You can also try to track down any of the "Gluten Free Gourmet". Bette Hagman has hundreds of recepies in her books. The topics range from eveyday to comfort foods to desserts and breads. Bob's Red Mill also has a TONNE of great recepies for everything. Their pizza crust is to die for. Bless you for doing all this research for him. It will be a... -
Huge fan!! I am waiting to see if the end of the last book will hold up. I hope she's faking us out a bit! I do not want to say too much in case I turn this into a spoiler for those that haven't read it yet. We have looked into pre-oredering the last book but may wait fora bit to see how it goes. My mother-in-law usually sends the books to our son...

ARCHIVED Got My Calgary Schedule Date!
Daxin replied to num1habsfan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Lisa, I am sorry to hear about all the things that have been going on with your exams. I can emapthize however. It angers me that the school is so inflexable as to not let you write early, since you will be not only out of commission, but physically out of the province during the rest of the exams. There is NO WAY you could pass on information... -
Just to keep the thread alive, ZEST is now serving gluten free menu items. I believe it is near the science centre in Regina, but am not to sure. I had a look at the online menu and it has notyet been updated, but in the article I read, they are going to be having everything from appetizers to desserts available. Way to go Regina!

ARCHIVED Happy Birthday Daxin
Daxin replied to jerseyangel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thank you so much Patti. We just stayed home and spent time with the family, as it was Sunday and all. My wife did manage to get me tickets to the Barenaked Ladies concert that will be happening in early Feb. for my birthday though, so we are taking our son. It's going to be awesome. -
I just wanted to update all my Rachelville friends on the longest week of my life. It turns out that I will NOT be going to Greenland this year or next. I got a call this Monday telling me they have rejected my transfer! I was upset for a day or so, but I am sure it will turn out for the best. At least I no longer have to leave my wife and kids...

I have to admit that I am NOT a fan of the new "trees" at the bottom of all the threads. I much prefer to have all the posts in full while I am skimming. This new way of putting all the posts on makes it hard to find something specifin as we are only allowed to see the first line of a new post, and it is the same as the last one if the quote feature is...

Daxin replied to BigRog's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I emailed the company, explaining the canadian dilemma od only one kind of gluten-free beer. Below is the email they sent: -
Sandy, My thoughts and prayers to you and you family. It is never easy when things seem to all pile up at once like that. I hope you find some answers for Kathryn quickly! If Rachelville existed in a real way, I think we would ALL benefit from a move. Please keep us posted.

Donna, Bobbi bought the "eye toy" for my PS2, and it came with a "game" that makes up a 12 week routine for you, and increases the difficulty of the games as you go. They are geared for a cardio workout and the like, so that over 12 weeks, you actually get in shape while playing the game. They had to for my mother, and she found that recovery... -
Hi, The following website has a list (if somewhat dated) list of gluten-free foods available in Canada: www.penny.ca/celiac-canada.htm I do not recall any specific places to eat Old Quebec, but they should be there. You may also want to see if celiactravel.com has any tips. I hope you daughters trip goes well. Quebec City is one of my favourites...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Daxin replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am sure we will all see Patti very soon. None the less, I am keeping her in my thoughts today. Well, the screening went well. The doctors see no reason why I can not go out of the country to a fairly major american facility that employs chefs that have anyines best intetrests at heart. I still have to take Bobbi (DW) to see the base Social Worker... -

Daxin replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel -- If you set a precedent and change the sub-title, you would likely have to change it again every 760 pages or so. Mia -- Hope the treatment has some positive effects for you. I am off to work to continue the "screening" process for work. The military medical people are now concerend about the "sensitivity to gluten" that was noted in my... -
ARCHIVED I Am New Here
Daxin replied to luvkin's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just to echo what has already been said, If you feel better, than stay off gluten. My doctor told me that should be enough of a signal in and of itself to show me that I was intolerant at the very least! I was surprised as well at how many other "symptoms" cleared up after going gluten free. (I had bad heart palps) -

Happy 2007 to you all!! Someone mentioned a few pages ago that Lyme seemed to be very prevalent in Califonia lately. As I am going to the Lompoc area in April (Vandenberg, north of LA), is there anything I should be aware of? Here in tick season, we all just wear long pants and hats. I would hate to think I am either naiive or paranoid. Also... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Make Gluten Free Cornflakes?
Daxin replied to kbabe1968's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I see my answer is already here, but I LOVE the nature's path Corn Flakes. They also make a honeied variety I think, but even the plain ones are AWESOME!! And I find they don't get soggy in the milk as fast. -
The patties are not made on site. They are brought in frozen, so the problem had to be at the plant, and not with the resaturaunt itself. Still, gross!!

If your trip on the bus is "Express' or something similar, it will not stop, or make very few. However, if you do not get the express ticket, you can expect it to take the better part 12-14 hours. (normally 6-7 by car from the Jaw) Hope that helps. -

I too want to wish all my Rachelvillians the happiest of holidays, and the best of new year's. May we all come out of the various celebrations unscathed. At least we can regroup in our cult farm and share horror stories -
ARCHIVED Pancake Mix
Daxin replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you can't find it, try the biscuit and baking mix from Bob's red mill. They have a pancake one as well, but the biscuit mix makes fluffier, better tasting cakes. -
ARCHIVED Elizabeth Shaw Chocolates
Daxin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have to note that I am VERY impressed this year! There is a brand of chocolates out there (with some booze in them mind you)! The brand name is Elizabeth Shaw. The reason I'm impressed is that it says right on the container "Suitable for Celiacs" Just wanted to pass on this note, and hope you all can find them, and support yet another company...
