  1. Hi, I am interested in seeing how many celiacs on this forum also have fibromyalgia. Please sign in---- and tell me which diagnosis you had first --- fibro or celiac?? And did you have fibro symptoms BEFORE you began to suspect Celiac? And---- have you found that you pick up more fibro symptoms as the years go by??? Thanks for the info-...
  2. Some good news for you younger women who suffer from migraines.-------- I had horrible migraines at least once a month (hormone triggered)--- And now that I have passed menopause----- NO MORE BAD MIGRAINE headaches---- ( just mild ones, easily relieved with Excedrin ) No more hours of ice bag to the head, pill popping, floor pacing, want to shoot...
  3. I think your best plan, in order for you to not be miserable and stressed, is to just cook all your goodies the gluten free way and DO NOT TELL ANYONE------- Dollars to donuts, they will never know the difference. Most of your recipes wil convert to gluten free with a few alterations---- No one has to feel deprived---- Then after they have...
  4. Do a gluten free diet for 2 weeks----- if you are significantly better------ you might have celiac. You could have more of a wheat allergy than you know (wheat is in EVERYTHING ) ---- It could be many things---- If I were you, I would start with getting ALL gluten out of my diet and see what happens. Take it from there ------- You WON'T...
  5. Do not assume that every gut issue you have is because of Celiac or gluten. The bowels are important, living, organs that can be aggravated by a host of things---- not just gluten---- How much sugar are you consuming??? How many refined carbs ?? Junk food ??? sodas ???? Are your food portions too large--- do you eat too often???? Are you eating...
  6. You have nothing to lose from getting u/s of the gallbladder---- and you can rule out the disease, or confirm that you do indeed have gallbladder disease . As you know, most people do not have a "textbook case" of signs and symptoms of disease. Each person is a unique individual. Celiac disease can be hard to track down---- you need to be willing...
  7. Hi, Sounds like it's time for you to sit down with whatever doctor put you on such a restricted diet, and see if some changes could be made I don't blame you for being so frustrated ! !
  8. Yahoooo ! ! Thanks for posting this ! ! ! I have not wanted to tackle making my own pizza crust from scratch------ so this might be just the ticket---- I'm sooooooooooo hungry for a decent pizza ! !
  9. I've had pain to my right side for years off and on. When I went gluten free it was better until I started eating ground flax seeds in my baked goods. Then the pain returned. I got flax seed out of my diet as well as gluten and have had no pain since. Some likely culprits: an oavarin cyst / food intolerances / colon disease --- /
  10. Some other things that can cause neuro and cognitive problems ----- Fibromyalgia Multiple sclerosis--
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions on brands. And listen up folks---- You're " preachin' to the choir" about the evils of aspartame, sodas, splenda, etc.------------ I am the choir director. I know ALL artificial sweetners are BAD BAD BAD------- (and I use them RARELY)
  12. I like an occasional Diet Dr. Pepper, or diet rootbeer. However, I try to avoid aspartame. (I think all the other diet sodas taste nasty ) I'm looking for a Dr. Pepper, or rootbeer diet drink sweetened with Splenda that is gluten free. Any one know of some brands ?? Thanks !
  13. Atkins Diet ( low carbs ) extremely helpful for type 2 diabetes. Read the book "Atkins Diabetes Revolution"
  14. Nan, Don't worry about all your questions to your doctor. Doesn't matter if he "gets sick of you"--- Just keep at it until you get the answers you need. Often time, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease"--- So keep squeaking---
  15. I was raised in the country with our own well. Drank our well water all my life as did the rest of my family. Didn't do us any harm. I will NOT drink tap water with all the chemicals and junk found in it. SOme days the water from my tap has a brown tinge to it. We are ALWAYS having "boil your water" notices. No thank you, I'll take my...
  16. I stopped taking ALL vitamins about a month ago, and don't plan to take any again. I figure I can get enough vitamins and minerals from my diet to sustain life.
  17. I would NEVER drink tap water. (Unless, I had my own well) ------- UGH ! ! !

  19. Hi, Don't be nervous As an RN , I can tell you that whenever I helped out in the endo lab in the hospital where I worked, all the patients said it was "not bad, at all". They will sedate you well, before it is done. Every patient I ever dealt with said they didn't feel anything and most woke up in recovery not remembering anything about it...
  20. About food allergy testing--- I was told about 13 years ago, when I had mine done, that they weren't very reliable (the blood test, that is) I don't know about the prick tests, I would NEVER have that done. Anyway, the blood test came back, that I was VERY allergic to wheat -- off the charts, so to speak ! (I had anaphylactic reaction a week earlier...
  21. I would recommend that you go back to your doctor and discuss all these symptoms, particularly the need to eat every few hours because you feel faint. You may need more testing. Be very sure that you are strictly gluten free. Hope you feel better soon.
  22. No such thing as low calorie or low carb gluten free bread. If you are trying to lose weight---- bread of any kind is your enemy.
  23. Yes--- THANKS ! ! ! Can't wait to try them---yahoo ! ! ! I love this forum----- Instant problem solving ---- 20,000 brains are better than one------
  24. If you can't afford to see a gastroenterologist for celiac testing---- just go strictly gluten free and see if you get better------------ You have nothing to lose. There are a host of autoimmune diseases out there. Lupus causes heat and sun intolerance. Fibromyalgia can mimic MS. Hormone imbalances can cause your vaginal spotting, and your heart palpitations...
  25. Recently a friend invited my husband and I for dinner. She tried to cook for me, bless her bones. But I've decided in the future to tell everyone " Please don't try to cook for my dietary restrictions. I can't eat wheat and cooking without it is dang near impossible. It takes years of practice to weed the wheat out of every dish and condiment, so don...
