  1. I've heard it was GOOD ! But my health food stores don't have it----- next time I'm in there, I'm going to get them to order some for me. I Love Pizza !
  2. I disagree--- I am NOT Italian --but I do LOVE pasta----- and even though Tinkyada is good--- IMHO it DOES NOT taste as good as the "real thing" ------- And I like the texture of wheat pasta much better than the texture of rice "pasta"---- But to each, his own-----
  3. You cannot change anyone's behavior but your own. You will NEVER convince your boyfriend to give up the foods he loves ----- He will give them up ONLY when or IF he wants to------ If I were you, I would give up trying to change his eating habits------- it's a loosing battle. Take it from someone who knows --- I've been trying to get my husband...
  4. Well, If I were you, I would go back to eating gluten and be tested for Celiac-------- Cause I would always wonder" Do I have Celiac or not ? "
  5. Fibrocystic breasts ????? underwire bras????? Hormone problems ???? I've had boob pain all my adult life------ going caffeine free helped a lot----- but nothing got rid of it til menapause----
  6. Hi, Why not relieve yourself of all this needless worry by just going back to eating gluten, then get tested for Celiac disease, with the right blood work-- if that is positive, the doc will do an endoscopy (no big deal) and you will have your answer hopefully. If you ARE celiac---- then you can worry about it and decide what to do. If you...
  7. Yes, of course ask to be tested based on your symptoms. A reasonable doctor should be willing to do this. You may want to arm yourself with information from another doctor like Dr. Peter Green to share with him. I'm always recommending that people read the book "Celiac Disease, a Hidden Epidemic" by Dr. Peter Green. Celiacs do not have to be thin...
  8. Someone said Bob's Red Mill has a pizza crust mix that tastes good. But I have not been able to find it.
  9. You can find it in "The New Ultimate Guide to Gluten Free Living " booklet published by the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University. 2nd edition published 2008, page 43
  10. If a person is diligent to WASH their hands EVERYTIME before they eat---- there won't be any lotion on their hands---- The Celiac Disease Center of Columbia University says that shampoos, toothpaste, dental products, make-up (except lipstick), soap, lotions are all SAFE.
  11. Celiac disease is a VERY manageable disease------ FIrst you need to obtain all the information you can from reliable sources about Celiac. The book " Celiac Disease, a hidden epidemic" by Dr. Peter Green--- is a good place to start. He is the director of the Celiac Disease center at Columbia University. Your library probably has this book. THe...
  12. I would call them, but there is no number on the box----- Just wondering if someone knows if it is gluten-free? Thanks----
  13. I would have my heart and lungs checked----
  14. Thanks Happy Girl --- I will try to remember that web address.
  15. Night sweats can be a sign of TB
  16. My doctor gave me samples of Lunesta 3 mg----- I haven't taken any-----(don't like drugs) but tired of lying awake til the wee hours of the morning. I've NEVER had sleep problems in my life (until the past 2 years)---- You could have set a bomb off in my room and I wouldn't have woke up ! ! Had no trouble falling asleep, or staying asleep--- ...
  17. What is a gall bladder flush??
  18. I'm sure it is--- it only has about 4 ingredients ------ milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla bean, etc. and it is to die for !
  19. How about some home made fruit smoothie thingie made with REAL full fat Hagen Daz vanilla bean ice cream ! Yummo !
  20. Some people are just born with a tendency to be anxious and worried. And the stressors of life can overwhelm them at times----causing greater anxiety and worry------- "They say" anxiety can also be result of serotonin imbalance. (which can be linked to celiac disease, if I remember right, there are many serotonin receptors in the gut )
  21. Tell your doctor that you don't feel the need for an anxiety med to take everyday and ask him if he would give you some Xanax or similar drug to CALM you when you have to fly or for other stressful events. But understand, that these drugs can cause some dependence, depending on how often you feel you need them to get thru the days. Or consider going...
  22. Could be that your gut is going to take a long time to heal---- I would change my diet to include only a few foods at a time and keep a food journal--- then you might be able to track the foods that bother you. Case in point------ it took me a long time to figure out that "healthy" ground up flax seeds added to my breads gave me a belly...
  23. Yes, the doctor CAN see damaged villi in the small intestine with the endoscope alone--------- the intestinal lining can be slick like tile in some patients and that would be entirely visible to the doctor looking thru the scope WITHOUT a biopsy--- The doctor knows what a normal intestinal lining looks like, and when there is damage he knows that is NOT...
  24. Judging from some of the problems on this forum---- the most important thing you should ask is----"You WILL be checking me for Celiac disease with a biopsy, won't you ???" And right before they knocked me out for the endo I would ask that same question again. The endo is painless, you will be given an IV to make you very drowsy---- Most people...
  25. Most "packages" don't list gluten as an ingredient. Gluten is found in wheat, rye, barley, oats---- you cannot eat anything with those ingredients listed. Also gluten is hidden in some not so obvious places like flavorings, etc.
