  1. With meanings? Cataphony - what you get when you step on your kitty in the dark.
  2. I get your point now. I don't watch TV or read pop stuff, so it didn't even occur to me that people follow someone just because they've heard their name. Yes, you're right, people do things just because someone else does, and doing it poorly will reflect on those who endeavor to do it properly. Maybe it's up to us to clarify (every time) that we aren...
  3. Yes, WE get that, but I don't think that's true for most people.
  4. Well, me too, but is it really all that different than the "pizza and a diet soda" mentality?
  5. As a whole, we're a lot cuter than the general populous.
  6. I don't see it as an issue. If your religion forbade you pork, would you be thinking unkind thoughts towards people who don't eat it because they don't like it? If I refuse dairy because I don't like it, am I dissing the people who have a real issue with it?
  7. You learn something every day! :o Open Original Shared Link
  8. Kale and portobello mushrooms sauteed with bacon grease and mixed with quinoa. Cole slaw with roasted red pepper and green apple.
  9. I agree that TB is not something to play with. Call an infectious disease doc and ask them what the best plan is. Google gave me this info: Open Original Shared Link
  10.   Racoons and possums mostly Maybe you can dig up some recipes for me.....
  11. My friend does a lot of the doc paperwork at a hospital and there are all kinds of really stupid reasons why a doc could be suspended like: He hasn't gotten is flu shot, or, No one told him that his license renewal form was due, or he was moonlighting. So could be a bad thing, could be nothing. Either way, get an appointment with a different doc, or...
  12. I think one of those type stores just opened in a nearby town, but I haven't gone in yet. I don't buy a lot of processed stuff so I'm not sure if it'll be useful or not, but worth checking out. Sad about AFM, seemed like a good idea.
  13. Right now my veggie bits go to the chickens. My local grocery has a 'day of expiration mark down - 30% for most things, 50% for fish. It's usually gone by 11am so I do my shopping early on the weekend. I do all my cooking on the weekend and put it all into plastic ware for meals. Occasionally during the week I'll cook something (fish for breakfast this...
  14. That doesn't mean that I should avoid saying something. I refuse to give tacit approval to something I think is wrong, simply by being quiet.
  15. Why do they care what you eat? (And why do YOU care that they care?) If you didn't like fish, for example, would they all still be so obnoxious? I think they're all acting like bullies and you should tell them to *********. The cousins you don't have to deal with, but the hubby, next time he says something ask him why he doesn't want you doing something...
  16. Well, I guess they won't stick to the pan.
  17. My last two BA flights I was handed a box that had the 'vegetarian' word crossed out and gluten-free written in. Completely inedible.
  18. But they have to be gluten-free friends. Does a case discount (or the 10% off 6 bottles discount) beat the Costco $10 bottles of wine? (WA has a state 50% markup on all alcohol). I tried the Trader Joe's cheap stuff. The post-consumption headache is not worth the discount.
  19. Resurrecting an old thread. I'm hoping to get into grad school this year so I'm 1) trying to cut my budget to save money, and 2) trying to learn to live on less so I won't have to borrow as much when I'm in school. I live pretty lean now, but I'm up for hearing about ANY budgeting tips, not just about food. And I'm not giving up the wine, so...
  20. Or flour fairies will follow you around and dust you periodically when you least expect it. I'm surprised you reacted to the corn based polymer of the plastic - it shouldn't resemble corn at all by the time it gets to that stage. Are you really really sure it couldn't have been anything else?
  21. bacon! goes with everything! but especially with pasta with olive oil and capers or toasted walnuts
  22. I haven't watched television in a long time. It makes me sad that this sort of thing is what many people believe is "comedy".
  23. cheese and bacon :D and wine
  24. Yep, it's that old Punnet square from high school biology You got either 2 or 8 from Mom, and one of whatever Dad has.
