I know this has been discussed before, but i have some additional questions.

Apple gate meats look good, the one that looks the best to me is the roast beef. Has anyone tried it?

Is boars head meats behind the deli counter only?

I'm looking for something that is not only gluten free, but also free of colorings and other added preservatives.

Applegate ham is yummy.  We haven't tried any other " flavor".   I get Boarshead in packages from the company.  Its next to the Deli counter in my store.

What about Hormel Natural Choice?  I can get it at Target and Walmart and its about half the cost of the Applegate.  I haven't had the roast beef because I'm a big roast beef person.  But I know my son and husband have had it and it was OK.

we do natural choice too, it's just cheaper. I've only tried Applegate turkey for the lunch meat but love their bacon and breakfast sausage yum!

Looks like the hormel products have a larger line than the applegate. I may actually do those instead.

boars head has packaged stuff - at kroger and publix - also sliced at the deli counter.  the ovengold turkey on udi's white bread is still one of my 'go-to's when i get glutened.  (just had one....)  <_<:o

I am a big fan of Applegate Farms because I can't do all the additives.

Boar's Head is the hub's fave.

I like some of their products but have to watch the MSG-ish stuff.

I like the Applegate Natural Roasted Turkey that I get in a family sized pack at Whole Foods.  Haven't had their brand of roast beef, but I have had the Hormel one, and it was pretty good.  It still weirds me out that some roast beef shimmers like it's part of an oil slick

me too. I have never had roast beef from a package as a result.

I don't think I've ever seen Boar's Head in packages, but I've never let that stop me from getting it. There are two local delis here that sell it. One sells only Boar's Head meats and cheeses so there is no risk of CC from whatever else is there. The other does sell some other stuff that I'm not the least bit interested in knowing more about. (The first package listed some wonky ingredients, I was done.) I either go there first thing in the morning and am waiting as the deli opens, or I make them clean the slicer for me. How inconvenient that is for them is not really on my list of craps I give. Of course, they never know that. I always smile sweetly and am super polite and they're always more than happy to help me.

Mostly I've given up on the second deli though since they stopped selling Lebanon bologna. Jerks. Now I have to drive clear across the city if I want a bologna sandwich.

I seem to recall that my digestive issues actually started when I was taking NSAIDs c. February 2013 for some unrelated condition.  My stomach got so sore during that time I went to see my GP and she thought it might be an ulcer or gastritis so prescribed me Omeprazole.  That appeared to trigger diarrhea which, once I came off the Omeprazole, did not stop.  I went back to the doctors after a few weeks, and that finally led to my coeliac diagnosis, after months of unexplained neurological symptoms, low ferritin and anxiety, which did not seem to have a cause but of course we later realised was all down to coeliac disease. I occasionally take a very small aspirin for a sick migraine which sometimes only responds to aspirin, but it usually leaves me with sore stomach a few days later. I've been told co-codamol is another medication I could take with a sensitive stomach. I was once prescribed it, to use for just a few days. It is not an NSAID, but it contains codeine, which I understand can be addictive so should be used with care.  It can also cause constipation.

I also take Paracetamol. I haven't taken an NSAID in years since being diagnosed with UC. The can cause UC flares.

Welcome to the forum, @jessysgems! How does this affect you? What do you do to address it. Do you have to get up and consume something sweet?

She used to take supplements, but her abdominal pain is so debilitating that she hasn't been able to continue.  Her primary care team has been suggesting liquid supplements rather than pill form to help.  They just drew a lot of blood Friday and we are slowly getting all that work back.  I will definitely check into thiamine!  Thanks!
