If you accidentally eat some gluten, do you guys immediately change to new toothbrushes?

I guess I have never eaten gluten in a large amount to worry about that.  I have only gotten a teeny bit of CC a couple of times.  But changing a toothbrush is probably a good idea - especially if you ate something big like a mislabeled hamburger bun.  Its a pretty easy and cheap thing to do.

I always keep extra toothbrushes on hand for after someone is sick, etc.  If I ate a large amount of gluten and used it after, yes I would toss it.

I never thought of that and I think quite possibly we should add this to the NEWBIE list.  Change your toothbrush.  I also wash my toothbrush once a week with hydrogen peroxide or in the dishwasher.  I am just not sure these techniques could totally rid it of gluten if it were there.

I have never ate a big amount of gluten by mistake. That I know of anyway... I wash my toothbrush before each use with hot. I also change tooth brushes every 6 months. If I ever ate Gluten by mistake, alot of it... I might get a new tooth brush...

My kids have separate tooth paste (one eats gluten on occasion out of the house) so I would say yes I would.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
