Good idea, but I can't lead them....it wouldn't give credibility to my talk with chocolate bumble bar crumbs all over my face.

:lol::lol:

Although they shall not be shirtless, lol...we have a pre-established rule about clothing in Rachelville.

Oh yeah! Forgot about that Donna....

Thank gaaaaaawd for pre-established rules! :P

The inflammation sets up the pain, and the nerves and muscles in my jaw and puzzling enough its concentrated mostly there and in my neck and somtimes wrists. Its arthritis, in a sense, not rhumatoid, ive been tested for that, it could be something more vague like a systemic autoimmune thing going on in my body. Thats why no doctors have been able to figure it out.

I love but hate being so sensitive!

Premature Post:

Well, Christine, maybe I can ease your mind about your wrists, so you'll have one less thing to worry about. Granted, it's only a baby step, but we all have to start somewhere.

My mother's fourth cousin thrice removed, Lula, had a dangling nerve in her right wrist, and that thing drove her crazy. She worried about it constantly, and often described the weird sensations it caused. Poor Lula went from doctor to doctor all her life, to no avail. To the day she died, at the age of 96, she never did find a doctor who was able to figure it out.

So, if I were you, I wouldn't waste another minute worrying about those wrists. Concentrate instead on the big picture, the systemic autoimmune thing going on in your body. Hope this information helps.

I was wondering... should cooking shows, and esply the Food Network be shown to small childern with celiac disease? Seems like it be like porno to them

Cruelage!!!

 Yep, intervention may be needed...it's 8:46 a.m. and so far I've had NO chocolate, lol.

:lol::lol:

You are well on your way Donna! When you get the urge..think about how you'll feel lying in bed...trying to sleep but cant because your itchy legs are driving you mad. You can do this!

Remember Andrea's inspirational chant?

I know I can, I know I can, I know I can...resist the chocolate!!! :D

Yeah....it doesnt work too well for me either. I'm still addicted to ice cream.

Holy Heck! There are dozens of plump, moist, gluten filled banana nut muffins (with cinnamon sprinkled on top) sitting in the break room at work right now...and GET THIS...noone is eating them!!

This is way beyond my comprehension....the things in life that are taken for granted! Will wonders never cease?

Now...if it were me who could eat these muffins...well you can be damn sure I'd be walking around looking like Donna with crumbs all over my mouth and little puffs of muffin flying out everytime someone speaks to me. :D

Well....we had quite the party last night. I was so far behind it took me all night to catch up.. Rachelville once again consumed me and I never made it to Whole Foods to get some food. Sitting here with nothing to eat 'cept an artichoke. <_<

I caved and went for the bag of corn chips....I ate alot.

Waiting for the blisters to appear....should be any minute now.

I take Zyrtek, so will be really interested if it can be compounded! :D

I will post this info as soon as I get it. :)

I still havent heard anything back about my ultrasound. They said my doc would call in a day or two..its almost been two weeks now. <_<

Do you think they have seen the alien baby and are not sure what to do about it. I remember it felt as if he was quite disturbed that day after I poured about a gallon of water into my gut.

I'm getting a little worried...I shall call them today.

OMG...."The Dave" is here......he is suppossed to be at WORK! :o

Mr. Dave, was the party a little too much excitement for you last night? Did Rachelville keep you from fulfilling your obligations of the day? Dont worry...I'm holding down the fort for ya. ;)

Dave will love being in the R-ville vocabulary list.

OH Gaaaaawd...he has become part of the wordage now.:lol:

Rachel,

That saying of mine is good in theory. :P

Oh no, out of food and nothing to eat but bad things. I haven't been to the store but payday isn't until Thursday. Mitch goes for little things like fruit when we run low. I have to make the journey for stocking up though. I hate it....it throws Seth off his schedule.

I would definately call the office and find out if they forgot about you.

I ate corn chips yesterday and I feel like dog poop today. How is it I can eat the sprouted corn tortillas and tamales no problem but I get so sick eating corn chips? Maybe Celia's scientificness post has something to do with this?

I

Ok,I phoned my sons clinic for the results of his repeat celiac disease screen.

The nurse said the paediatrician wants to discuss the results with me and they've given me an appt for the 22nd Aug.I explained we was away then,so she come back on the phone and said he'll see us on the 30th :o -she wouldn't tell me on the phone the blood results..

Mmm,I've never got an appt that quick,I'm assuming the worst and that he's had positive bloods (can't think what else he'd want to discuss <_< )

I know I've been pushing for testing for my son as he has some of the symptoms-but now it comes to the crunch-

Well good googly moogly, I don't want him to have it !!!(stamping Foot)!

nikki, that is the worst waiting for test results. So much anxiety. I will keep you and your son in my thoughts that all is well.

If he would happen to have celiac, at least he has his wonderful parents to guide and support him.

 have mildly nuggetted myself (had about 10). A friend just came to view the paint color and I gave her the bag. They are out of my life. I cannot be alone with them, clearly. A sad day, isn't it Donna with the Bumble crums all over your face... I am going to have to hunt those down and try them. Carefully.

Am still quite amused over our madness and what exactly people can find when they google our town. Clearly we lost out minds last night......am going to revisit those pages, I was under the influence of many many things including chocolate hallucinogens.

That sounds wonderful.....and dangerous.

Have you ever tried carob. I'm assuming your ok with soy lecithin. Carob chips are very good and I have a recipe for carob treats that are really good, depending on what your diet limitations are. Some have very few ingredients. Do you like mint? Melted carob chips with mint flavor is yummy. I can't have those anymore since I'm soy intolerant. :( I also liked homemade Peanut Butter Cups with Carob of course.

Andrea, I'm not sure about the soy lecithin but once I'm pulling a Chocolate Dave I'm living on the edge. I do like carob and mint and would love the recipe for the Peanut Butter Cups with Carob. I do have carob powder and it is supposed to be beneficial for me to eat.

AndreaB Contributor

The recipes actually use carob chips which have lecithin in them.

I have made my own carob type treat with carob powder/coconut oil/touch sugar/coconut and almonds.

Now I buy enjoy life chocolate chips which are pretty good.

You can easily make a carob cake substituting the carob powder for the cocoa.

Anyone every have Hydrogen breath tests for baterial overgrowth and/or lactose intolerance?

These do not sound like fun! I think I am going to be spinached and pulling a Dave all at once. The testing service just warned me I may be visiting the porcelain god after both tests. :(:o

Dave, Dave, Dave....did you not read the town list.

Cissie is in charge of the auxigro detecting geese who also patrol the borders of our village and keep gluten intruders out.

Remember....you must go through the de-gluten chamber before coming back to our lovely village after foraging in the town over the hill.

I made it through the holiday w/o being glutened. I had my brother cook with gluten-free breadcrumbs and I didn't get sick. I baked cookies with gluten-free flour and had dry ingredients for cookies in ziplock bag. I also made gluten cookies as well and guess I did good washing to avoid CC. My wife also went to a french bakery and bought a gluten-free flourless chocolate cake dedicated gluten-free it was out of this world.
    • xxnonamexx
What do you mean it would not allow any celiac to eat gluten again. I think if this helps cross contamination when eating out at a non dedicated gluten-free restaurant this would be nice not to encounter the pains. But is their a daily enzyme to take to help strengthen the digestive system?

Hi, thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, no other antibody tests were ordered. I am a 32-year-old male. About two months ago, I ate pancakes and then developed severe diarrhea that lasted the entire day. At night, I became unconscious due to fluid loss and was admitted to the ER, where I received IV fluids. Two days later, I ate bread again and once more developed severe diarrhea. I ended up in the ER again and received IV fluids. In my country, Pakistan, doctors are unfortunately not very thorough, so they treated me for a stomach infection. I visited three or four doctors, including a gastroenterologist, but it seemed like they just wanted to keep me on medications and IV fluids. Eventually, I did some digging myself and started connecting the dots. For years, I’ve had excessive gas buildup and frequent loose stools, but I never paid much attention to it. I also cannot easily digest dairy products. Two years ago, I had a CBC test that showed iron deficiency. My doctor told me to eat more meat and said it was nothing serious. However, for the past five years, I’ve also had severe motion sickness, which I never experienced before. Whenever I get on a bus or in a car, I sometimes lose consciousness for 10–20 seconds and wake up sweaty, and occasionally I feel the need to vomit. After more research on the internet, I came across gluten and celiac disease, so I got two related tests (TTG-IgA & TTG IgG) done along with a stool test and another CBC. The stool test showed weakly positive blood. Ever since eating those pancakes and bread, I’ve had a burning sensation in my gut. My doctor reviewed my tests, he told me to completely stop eating gluten and started me on IV fluids for 20 days, saying that I had severe inflammation in my gut. It has now been two months since I quit gluten, and I’m still not sure whether this is celiac disease or gluten intolerance. I don’t really trust doctors in Pakistan, so I thought I might get some help here.

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SamAlvi! Were there any other antibody tests ordered? Particularly, was there a "total IGA" test ordered to check for IGA deficiency. When people are IGA deficient, celiac panel IGA test scores, such as the TTG-IGA, are likely not valid. If a total IGA test was not ordered, I would request such to be done. Note: "Total IGA" goes by other names as well. I will include a primer on celiac disease antibody testing which does a good job in covering the nomenclature variations connected with the various tests. Elevated IGG scores can certainly indicate celiac disease but they are more likely than elevated IGA tests to be caused by something else.

Thank you— yes, valid and essential— The issue either doctors is that every one I have tried to talk to about this has essentially rolled their eyes and dismissed me as a hypochondriac, which gets discouraging. I believe a diagnosis would help me to be taken seriously by doctors as well as being validating, but can carry on without it.    There are many, probably most people in my area of my age and gender, who avoid gluten, but many just avoid it casually— eating the occasional plate of wheat pasta or a delicious-looking dessert, or baking cookies with wheat flour for gatherings.  That is not an option for me. I don’t eat other people’s cooking or go to restaurants that do not have strict cross- contamination procedures. It can be boring and lonely, and people do look at me as if I am being a bit dramatic but weeks of symptoms after a single small exposure has taught me to respect my experience.    Thank you very much for your response— sometimes I just need to hear that I am not crazy—
