Significant changes were discovered in the blood samples from the intervals following the foods cooked in the microwave oven. Lymphocytes (white blood cells) showed a more distinct short-term decrease following the intake of microwaved food than after the intake of all the other variants. The indicators pointed to degeneration. This led Dr. Hertel to the conclusion that such technically derived energies may, indeed, be passed along to man via eating microwaved food. According to Dr. Hertel,

"Leukocytosis, which cannot be accounted for by normal daily deviations, is taken very seriously by hematologists. Leukocytes are often signs of pathogenic effects on the living system, such as poisoning and cell damage. It appears that marked increases were caused entirely by ingesting the microwaved substances.

"There is extensive scientific literature concerning the hazardous effects of direct microwave radiation on living systems. It is astonishing, therefore, to realize how little effort has been taken to replace this detrimental technique of microwaves with technology more in accordance with nature. There are no atoms, molecules or cells of any organic system able to withstand such a violent, destructive power for any extended period of time, not even in the low energy range of milliwatts."

The same violent deformations that occur in our bodies, when we are directly exposed to radar or microwaves, also occur in the molecules of foods cooked in a microwave oven. This radiation results in the destruction and deformation of food molecules. Microwaving also creates new compounds, called radiolytic compounds, which are unknown fusions not found in nature. Radiolytic compounds are created by molecular decomposition - decay - as a direct result of radiation.

I'm outta here guys. Didn't have time to catch completely up.

Hello Rachel on lunch break....sorry I can't stay and read you posts, you too Rinne.

dlp252 Apprentice

No, not my microwave, lol. Holy goodness, how can I heat my lunch at work? We have a stove downstairs but sometimes I have to heat and eat it quickly. Can't imagine cooking it in a pot...hum, we have a regular oven too...I'll have to ask someone how to work it though...did I mention I am no Julia Childs in the kitchen. :lol: Then, I guess I'd have to have some kind of glass thingy here to put it in because aluminum foil isn't the greatest either. :(

I don't understand this but what jumps out at me is the fact that boils are made up of neutrophils and neutrophils are there to fight infection, what is the infection if someone in every other way appears healthy? In my thirties when I started to get boils I talked to my mother about it and she said that during her thirties she had boils and that my grandmother during her thirties had boils but in both their cases and mine those boils disappeared in our forties. I've also taken large does of garlic when a boil started to appear and had them subside and not come to a head, given that garlic is a natural antibiotic this makes sense. So, most recently I started to have other symptoms that my mother has and what I am seeing is that the Celiac manifests itself in stages, so for me first skin problems, then migraines, then boils, then arthritis......it seems like each manifestation shows the increasing inflammation to the body is the body attempting to communicate with us and each time we only deal with a symptom the problems go deeper. What I am curious about is how the disease morphs so that boils are no longer a problem but something else is.

PP(premature post)

Interesting about the neutrophil thing.

Rinne,my son keeps getting boils (I suspect he's a coeliac and is waiting on blood results)

The slightest little pimple seems to end up as a full scale boil.

He currently has a nasty one on his leg,which started as an tiny yellow head.

Oh gosh,his poor leg got sooo red and inflamed (hot to touch too)

It's nearly healed now but has taken 2 weeks,anything takes forever to heal-and they seem to leave such large holes :unsure:

I can only think it's something to do with a comprimised immune system? :(

Reading on.......

Rachel--No wonder your stomach was bothering you last night--having a car accident will really shake you up! The whole production afterwards with the police, etc. Good thing it was minor, and no one was hurt.

Nah...it was definately the ice cream. I seriously pigged out. :ph34r:

The accident was extremely minor...not even a dent or scratch in the paint of either car. Just some scuffs...I'll just rub mine out. They made a claim...so insurance will probably go up now...thats the real bummer.

Thats a very good question. Hmm, not realy sure... I'll go look for myself, and return when I have news or get bored of looking.....

:lol::lol:

OMG!!! Seriously I was wondering the same thing. I was more itchy for the last two days than I have been...the spots also burned...I was wondering if the histamine leave kicking and screaming. :lol:

Yeah...I've noticed this too...not sure what its all about though. Its probably the same as when we first went gluten-free....I dont know about you guys but for me that was probably the worst week of my life. I seriously thought I was dying and I could hardly eat, walk or even hold my head up. I was literally only able to eat half of an apple without feeling like I would vomit. I'm thinking its our bodies getting rid of the toxins as well as withdrawl. I recall reading that we can go through withdrawl from any type of food or substance that we are intolerant to. Its almost always the foods we crave the most that are the ones causing problems.

I've always loved the gluteney foods and pastries....loved bread way too much. However when I was really sick...the sicker I got the more I was wanting these foods. It got to the point where I was only wanting these foods....nothing else. Instead of having a few pieces of toast I was eating more like 8. Also mac and cheese which I might ususally have once or twice a week I was then eating it everday....and I just got sicker. This is when I rapidly lost the weight...25 lbs. total. To go from eating like this to suddenly only eating a few veggies and fruits...oh man...it was serious serious withdrawl for me.

I wondered if the comment went unnoticed by everyone but me! :rolleyes: We're on to you, Dave!!! :D Better be on your best behavior!

Ummm...I noticed it too. :ph34r:

Will have to find out what this is all about. :huh:

Yeah Dave....best behavior!!! All eyes are on YOU! :D

Celia- When I first saw your new picture I almost died laughing, all by myself, looking like an idiot here. I LOVE her (or is it a him) :lol: She/He has to be our mascot or something. What is that an emu, or an ostrich? Look at that face!

:lol:

Yeah Celia...that was hilarious. I also vote for the ostrich thing as our mascot!! :D

Thanks Julie, and you're welcome, lol. It won't be too hard to leave out the peanut butter and apricot spread (that's a new addition anyway)...it's the chocolate I'll need intervention for. :lol: Hey, it's 8:43 a.m. here and STILL no chocolate. :P

Yeah I second everything Julie posted. I would also add pork to the list as well. Pork is high in histamine. I've experienced reactions from it.... I'm pretty sure pork should be avoided. Green beans are also a possibility...all beans are high in histamines...especially kidney beans, pinto beans...but really all of them are high.

Interesting drive-by-factoid...when this thread started I was 50...I'm 51 now. :lol::lol::lol:

:lol::lol:

I wonder if we'll still be here when you're 52.....

I think maybe when you were 50 we were only a pajama party with a few giggly girls...

Now we are a whole cult farm paradise....

Who knows what we will be when you turn 52. :huh:

Donna - more itching?? a histamine withdrawal! Eat chocolate! :ph34r: oops did I say that...I'm on three days, no Nuggets....

:lol::lol:

Donna....dont do it!!

3 days no nuggets??? WOOHOO! Wonder if I could last that long no ice cream?? :rolleyes:

Donna, there is something about cashew butter also and I just don't remember what, sorry. :(

Micro-wave ovens, I haven't used one after reading somethings about them that caused me to question whether or not they are really safe.

Cashews contain alot of mold....

Microwave ovens....I know they are very bad but I must use mine everyday. :ph34r:

Although I'm much better in the kitchen than I used to be...I'm still no Susie homemaker.

Nope, I was all over it like white on rice, lol. Just decided it was best not to write what I had typed out, lol. :lol:

:lol::lol:

I'm sure whatever it was that you typed out.... probably would have made me spit out corn tortilla crumbs all over this computer screen. :lol:

I have been confused about that ever since. :unsure:

Was it the blood sugar thing? I didnt follow that thread all the way through so maybe thats why I'm lost. :huh:

Also, you were nominated the Rahelville hero because of all you've done for Tanya, Megan and that whole family. You might not think its much but I'm sure Tanya would say the "hero" titled is warranted. :D

Btw...I need to review that thread. I havent heard a thing about Megan in days...I'm assuming she's at home now? Is she still doing well?

I haven't used a microwave in 10 years, I even unplug them if they are on the premises :lol: Would love to hear the info too rinne, as I have forgotten some of the details.

Thanks for the compliments about my hair, I always get a little flustered and self conscious about it :lol: I was teased growing up and I guess you never forget that stuff, you let it go, but it still stays with you a little.

Does anyone remember rat tails? An oh so lovely hair style of the 80s :lol: All my friends had rat tails and had them dyed black or blue. My mom wouldn't let me get one, but she took me to the salon and had them do a strip of pink underneath in the back. I thought I was really cool.

Susie- I love your artisticness, please don't take it away from us :lol: Sorry you had a sleepless night, insomnia is the worst. The scary movie probably didn't help, and were there nuggets invovled?? :lol:

OMGosh, I wouldn't be able to live with only a regular oven and no microwave :blink: I am soooo impatient that today at lunch, instead of sticking my meal in the oven like I probably should have....I stuck it in the microwave.

And Julie, I sure hope that those people who teased you weren't serious. Although, now that I think about it :huh: Mom teases me all the time, more jokingly than teasingly though. I'll ask her if my hair looks fine; she'll answer that it looks hidious; I'll thank her and we'll both move on :D .

On the other hand, I don't use the microwave hardly at all ... and when I remodel the kitchen next summer, we might not even have one. We didn't in our old house the whole 6 years we lived there. But this kitchen is pathetic and you find yourself using it more than you really want to.

TCA has been posting updates to her thread on Megan, and on megan's we site... I'lllet you explore and read them.

No I do not have celiac disease. I prbly carry the genes for it, but after 2 bispoys, a few rounds of blood tests and a three seperate challenges... I am sure I do not have it. My problems have always been from they hypoglycemia which I did not discover until very late in the process.

Umm to equate it to celiac disease... Imagine if you contorl your celiac disease you had to eat a certin amount of gluten every day... too much and you get sick, to little and you get sick .. in addition you had to balance that gluten two different other foods, and as long as you kept it all in blance your fine.

Thats the over simplified version how it works, but instead of gluten I have to watch sugars (aka carbs), and balence them with fats and proteins.

I am eating mostly gluten-free cause I will not allow and gluten-food in our home. Ocassionaly we willeat out and I may or may not get a gluten food then. But thats realy about it.

Reading on.......

Nikki, I think boils are caused by a staph infection. I got several a few weeks after the birth of one of my babies. Couldn't figure it out until I read that hospitals were having problems with patients getting staph infections, and someone finally figured out that most were caused by unclean operating rooms. True story. I still have 4 or 5 holes in my legs. The boils didn't pop up all at once, but one after the other. Finally got a shot of penicillin, which darn near killed me, but got rid of the infection.

My ob said there were staph germs everywhere, which is true, but I wasn't the only woman who came home with a new baby and a staph infection, though it didn't always manifest itself as boils. There was a minor epidemic, but doctors didn't want their patients to know about it. The medical profession tried to keep it hushed up.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with your son; it's just one of those historical oddities I teach at good old UCCF! :P:P:P I do hope his boils clear up soon!

      Thank you all for your advice and the dermatitis herpetiformis article. The latter made me realise I had stopped taking my antihistamine, which I will restart today. The Dapsone has cleared the rash entirely but I still get quite a bit itching, absolutely nothing to see though. I know its notoriously hard to clear and its still relatively early days for me.  The iodine issue is very interesting. I do eat quite a bit of salt because I have Addison's disease and sodium retention is an issue. I also have autoimmune hypothyroidism, not sure how a low iodine diet would play into that? Because of my Addison's I am totally steroid dependent, I take steroids 4 x daily and cannot mount any defence against inflammation. I need to increase my meds for that. Now that I know what is wrong I can do just that if Im having a bad day. Life is very sweet, just so damn complicated sometimes! Hey ho, onwards. Thank you again for your advice.

      So, essentially all of the nutrition in the food we eat is absorbed through the villous lining of the small bowel. This is the section of the intestinal track that is damaged by celiac disease. This villous lining is composed of billions of finger-like projections that create a huge amount of surface area for absorbing nutrients. For the celiac person, when gluten is consumed, it triggers an autoimmune reaction in this area which, of course, generates inflammation. The antibodies connected with this inflammation is what the celiac blood tests are designed to detect but this inflammation, over time, wears down the finger-like projections of the villous lining. Of course, when this proceeds for an extended period of time, greatly reduces the absorption efficiency of the villous lining and often results in many and various nutrient deficiency-related health issues. Classic examples would be osteoporosis and iron deficiency. But there are many more. Low D3 levels is a well-known celiac-caused nutritional deficiency. So is low B12. All the B vitamins in fact. Magnesium, zinc, etc.  Celiac disease can also cause liver inflammation. You mention elevated ALP levels. Elevated liver enzymes over a period of 13 years was what led to my celiac diagnosis. Within three months of going gluten free my liver enzymes normalized. I had elevated AST and ALT. The development of sensitivities to other food proteins is very common in the celiac population. Most common cross reactive foods are dairy and oats but eggs, soy and corn are also relatively common offenders. Lactose intolerance is also common in the celiac population because of damage to the SB lining.  Eggs when they are scrambled or fried give me a gut ache. But when I poach them, they do not. The steam and heat of poaching causes a hydrolysis process that alters the protein in the egg. They don't bother me in baked goods either so I assume the same process is at work. I bought a plastic poacher on Amazon to make poaching very easy. All this to say that many of the issues you describe could be caused by celiac disease.

      thank you so much for your detailed and extremely helpful reply!! I can say with absolute certainty that the less gluten containing products I've eaten over the past several years, the better I've felt.   I wasn't avoiding gluten, I was avoiding refined grains (and most processed foods) as well as anything that made me feel bad when I ate it. It's the same reason I gave up dairy and eggs- they make me feel ill.  I do have a bit of a sugar addiction lol so a lot of times I wasn't sure if it was the refined grains that I was eating - or the sugar. So from time to time I might have a cookie or something but I've learned how to make wonderful cookies and golden brownies with BEANS!! and no refined sugar - I use date paste instead. Pizza made me so ill- but I thought it was probably the cheese. I gave up pizza and haven't missed it. the one time I tried a slice I felt so bad I knew I'd never touch it again. I stopped eating wheat pasta at least 3 yrs ago- just didn't feel well after eating it. I tried chick pea pasta and a few others and discovered I like the brown rice pasta. I still don't eat a lot of pasta but it's nice for a change when I want something easy. TBH over the years I've wondered sometimes if I might be gluten intolerant but really believed it was not possible for me to have celiac disease. NOW I need to know for sure- because I'm in the middle of a long process of trying to find out why I have a high parathyroid level (NOT the thyroid- but rather the 4 glands that control the calcium balance in your body) I have had a hard time getting my vit D level up, my serum calcium has run on the low side of normal for many years... and now I am losing calcium from my bones and excreting it in my urine (some sort of renal calcium leak) Also have a high ALP since 2014. And now rapidly worsening bone density.  I still do not have a firm diagnosis. Could be secondary HPT (but secondary to what? we need to know) It could be early primary HPT. I am spilling calcium in my urine but is that caused by the high parathyroid hormone or is it the reason my PTH is high>? there are multiple feedback loops for this condition.    so I will keep eating the bread and some wheat germ that does not seem to bother me too much (it hasn't got enough gluten to use just wheat germ)    but I'm curious- if you don't have a strong reaction to a product- like me and wheat germ- does that mean it's ok to eat or is it still causing harm even if you don't have any obvious symptoms? I guess what you are saying about silent celiac makes it likely that you can have no symptoms and still have the harm... but geez! you'd think they'd come up with a way to test for this that didn't require you to consume something that makes you sick! I worry about the complications I've been reading about- different kinds of cancers etc. also wondering- are there degrees of celiac disease?  is there any correlation between symptoms and the amnt of damage to your intestines? I also need a firm diagnosis because I have an identical twin sister ... so if I have celiac, she has it too- or at least the genetic make up for having it. I did have a VERY major stress to my body in 2014-2016 time frame .. lost 50lbs in a short period of time and had severe symptoms from acute protracted withdrawal off an SSRI drug (that I'd been given an unethically high dose of, by a dr who has since lost his license)  Going off the drug was a good thing and in many ways my health improved dramatically- just losing 50lbs was helpful but I also went  off almost a dozen different medications, totally changed my diet and have been doing pretty well except for the past 3-4 yrs when the symptoms related to the parathyroid issue cropped up. It is likely that I had low vit D for some time and that caused me a lot of symptoms. The endo now tells me that low vit D can be caused by celiac disease so I need to know for sure! thank you for all that great and useful information!!!

      Welcome, @catnapt! The most recent guidelines are the daily consumption of a minimum of 10g of gluten (about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for a minimum of two weeks. But if possible stretching that out even more would enhance the chances of getting valid test results. These guidelines are for those who have been eating gluten free for a significant amount of time. It's called the "gluten challenge".  Yes, you can develop celiac disease at any stage of life. There is a genetic component but also a stress trigger that is needed to activate the celiac genes. About 30-40% of the general population possesses the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% of the general population actually develop celiac disease. For most with the potential, the triggering stress event doesn't happen. It can be many things but often it is a viral infection. Having said that, it is also the case that many, many people who eventually are diagnosed with celiac disease probably experienced the actual onset years before. Many celiacs are of the "silent" type, meaning that symptoms are largely missing or very minor and get overlooked until damage to the small bowel lining becomes advanced or they develop iron deficiency anemia or some other medical problem associated with celiac disease. Many, many are never diagnosed or are diagnosed later in life because they did not experience classic symptoms. And many physicians are only looking for classic symptoms. We now know that there are over 200 symptoms/medical problems associated with celiac disease but many docs are only looking for things like boating, gas, diarrhea. I certainly understand your concerns about not wanting to damage your body by taking on a gluten challenge. Your other option is to totally commit to gluten free eating and see if your symptoms improve. It can take two years or more for complete healing of the small bowel lining once going gluten free but usually people experience significant improvement well before then. If their is significant improvement in your symptoms when going seriously gluten free, then you likely have your answer. You would either have celiac disease or NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity).

      after several years of issues with a para-gland issue, my endo has decided it's a good idea for me to be tested for celiac disease. I am 70 yrs old and stunned to learn that you can get celiac this late in life. I have just gradually stopped eating most foods that contain gluten over the past several years- they just make me feel ill- although I attributed it to other things like bread spiking blood sugar- or to the things I ate *with* the bread or crackers etc   I went to a party in Nov and ate a LOT of a vegan roast made with vital wheat gluten- as well as stuffing, rolls and pie crust... and OMG I was so sick! the pain, the bloating, the gas, the nausea... I didn't think it would ever end (but it did) and I was ready to go the ER but it finally subsided.   I mentioned this to my endo and now she wants me to be tested for celiac after 2 weeks of being on gluten foods. She has kind of flip flopped on how much gluten I should eat, telling me that if the symptoms are severe I can stop. I am eating 2-3 thin slices of bread per day (or english muffins) and wow- it does make me feel awful. But not as bad as when I ate that massive amnt of vital wheat gluten. so I will continue on if I have to... but what bothers me is - if it IS celiac, it seems stupid for lack of a better word, to intentionally cause more damage to my body... but I am also worried, on the other hand, that this is not a long enough challenge to make the blood work results valid.   can you give me any insight into this please?   thank you
