Tom,

I forgot to mention. I've bookmarked that site and will go over it with hubby.

We don't like accessing things that use Java so I don't know that we'll do it. Seems like I've read or heard bad things about java before but I don't remember now.

Bagel? That wasn't a gluten bagel???? was it????

Frito's make me sick if I have too many. I don't eat them anymore......sure love them though.

I'll be waiting to hear whether his head goes towards his desk again at this next appointment. :)

It was a gluten/casein free bagel! But, that's bad enough. :(

I think all doctors have their specialty, even LLMD's, which is why we have to find the one whose methods are what you want/need.

I agree.

That may be the rest of it. He actually shook his head REALLY long and slow and put it (his head  ) halfway down to the desk when he saw my little antibiotic history sheet.

well... i think that he is jealous because that you have a greater little antibiotic history sheet than he does

:lol: That was my 17 year old son typing ... I got my computer back now ...

If his protocols don't work for you, then the other guy might be a better fit.

donna-

i would love a copy-

and wow thats a lot of rachelling admission you fit into a very short "commercial break "

Mia send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you.

 to your son!

I was afraid to start antibiotics myself, so I think this doc and I will work out well, lol. He will prescribe if he thinks it's necessary. I think I'm not going to be able to avoid them forever...I'm positive I have at least 1 or 2 of the co-infections that Scott says I have...

oh yucky-

i am having a horrible reaction to my lunch and have been all day-

Laura-

so sorry you are feeling so bad

I don;t think i am really feeling better lately i am just antsy and if i keep busy i can't spend time feeling like i am waiting . I really should just relax - i need too!! but i am not sure i was built to relax- i have never been good at it

Lisa, I am very glad you are feeling better, count me as one of those who was worried about you. :)

....

What's up with the websites these days. I STILL can't get on to lymenet either from home or from work. .....

I read on the CanLyme site that lightning hit something connected to Lymenet and that is why people can't get on.

Frito madness Donna.:lol: Keep the beautiful photos coming. :) And yes to the spreadsheet with our results.

....

I had a hunch I was off, as I can't read and process anything thats going on. I have stopped one of my meds that has given me horrible side effects, and now I think a flare/herx/whatever it is is starting. Sigh.

...

:( Laura, hope you feel better soon.

.....

Some of my more sensible (read: insane?) friends don't understand when I eat an entire bag or batch of this or that......clearly everyone gets it here (except maybe Rinne?) ha ha ha!

.....

I think you have me confused with Carla. :P:lol: I am more than capable of rachelling, I have lost count at seven rinne bars, well or simply refused to count after that many. My sweetie found me, I think I've told this story once  , with chocolate on my face one morning last week. All I could say was, "I've gotta get off the rinnebars man."

.....

Rinne! I was figuring that pic was u. Wish I had some old pix scanned. Maybe I soon will as I JUST installed mom's new scanner. Even tho it's a combo printer/fax/copier the scanner IS a flatbed, across the top of the unit!! :D

....

As Rachel said everyone had their baby photos up but have since updated, I on the other hand am a complete idiot when it comes to scanning, uploading, etc.

Yes to childhood photos from you. :)

As to theme songs, I've been listening to Leonard Cohen for 35 years and I have been known to quote lines from his songs but I can't say I have a theme song. I'll think about it.

.....

Here is a quote about Rockefeller's role ... it's, of course, from an alternative website. Open Original Shared Link

....

Very interesting article, thanks Carla. :)

JUST SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME NOT TO EAT THE STUPID FRITOS NEXT TIME!!! Oh, or maybe it was the bagel that did it.

I have been free of D for almost a week, and now...bagel explosion!

Ack! A bagplosion!!!

(wish I could put that 'long-A' line over the A in that word)

Alright Donna - You say yell, I say how loud.

PUT THE BAG DOWN & BACK AWAY FROM THE FRITOS MA'AM!!!!!!!

"I've got a pudding-filled MagicBullet and I'm not afraid to use it!!" <stern look>

But seriously, I know I was lucky to not have anything in the house I shouldn't eat unless I made that decision of sound mind (HA!) at the store.

Having stuff around has to be soooo hard.

Maybe the other household members can help by switching to something like Ranch Doritos - one look at just the *SIZE* of the ingred list might help avoid lapses.

P.S. How about reprising those youthful portraits???? I'll get one scanned too. :)

We don't like accessing things that use Java so I don't know that we'll do it. Seems like I've read or heard bad things about java before but I don't remember now.

The bad one is an offshoot, related in name only (cuz it was written w/ java). Many bits of net-nastiness use javaScript.

Javascript is a very specific little bunch of code that, while helpful in a great many ways, was co-opted by the black hats of cyberspace.

It's as much java as a Happy Meal is a herd of cows.

That site doesn't use javascript and is written in the usual html. I keep j-script off and went there fine.

So - go . . . Get OpenOffice. Or google reviews of it 1st and be 190% convinced.

P.S. Java is in your life whether u want it or not. By far its main app is non-pc.

Most non-fancy cellphones, smart appliances, car elec, cableboxes, fancier elec billboards, for example.

Not only for ease of use, but extreme reliability and of course the kicker - never a licensing fee. :)

 !!!! Oh, I forgot to say how much I LOVE my magic bullet earlier. Thanks for the yell. All is well for a few more days. They give us free snacks once a week...I think with the bag I took yesterday and the bag I took today, I have successfully cleaned out the Fritos from all cabinets. There is an advantage and a disadvantage to getting here hours before anyone else does.

The bagels I've had in my freezer for months...there were only two left...now only one! Still have all 5 bumble bars in my cabinet though. Yay for me, course that might be different if I had PB there too.

Okay, will put up one of the "baby" photos I have here.

Thanks for doing this. :)

You're welcome!

Aw so sorry you have having a yucky reaction! I can't wait for you to see your new doctor!

I understand about the relaxing thing...I don't have quite the same ambition you do, lol, but I definitely find it hard to relax. The PT guy I go to tries to work on my neck and keeps saying "relax", I say "I am" he says "RELAX" I say "I AM".

I just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. With my brother in town, I haven't had much time to post, but I've been trying to keep up with reading.

I just want to add that I LOVE Fritos but don't eat them because of the CC Lays is notorious for (but, I've heard rumors that Fritos may have their own dedicated lines.....anyone know if there is any truth to this?). I used to love dipping them in Rondele cheese spread. Boy, I miss cheese.

I've still been having diarrhea, but I'm down to imodium only twice a week, which is a good thing.

One more thing--my naturopath has not gotten back to me. He's supposed to be working on my supplement plan and emailing me with questions and progress and....nothing. I feel sort of ripped off. I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Thanks again for being the one place where I can talk about all this--you all are truly the greatest :)

dlp252 Apprentice

I just hate when doctors (or anyone for that matter) don't call when they say they will. Hopefully they just forgot.

I miss cheese so very much myself! Don't know about the dedicated lines for Fritos, but even if I knew it was cross contamination central, I'm not sure I could have resisted. How sad is THAT!?

Feeling physically a little bit better today.

I set up an appointment with a biological dentist, who is mercury free etc.

My appt. is on July, 10.

I may be looking at extractions here, because I dont want more dental drama, and also I cant seem to figure out what I am sensitive to.

I will just have to wait and see, what he says, Im sure he sees a lot of sensitive people, with reactive immune systems after root canals etc.

I completed the 24 hour urine collection, and brought it to the lab. They also drew blood to test kidney function, BUN and Creatinine, and a CBC with diff to test for infection.

I will wait and see the results of the protein amount in my urine...if an abnormal or large amount is present, and what type it is before the doctors can make any speculation about my kidney function! I guess there's no point in guessing until the tests come back. I will just get more stressed out.

Hopefully I get my period this month too, that would be nice.

Otherwise, I feel great emotionally. Weird huh?

So I guess, no one has had protein show up in their urine before? Just curious.

Wouldn't it be weird if all this was stemming from the dental work!!!

I wouldn't be suprised.

I imagine myself getting the teeth pulled and everything feeling better! But I know its prob not that easy.

I don't know about this but don't eat them as eating "just a few" is out of the question. I get sick if I eat too many.....didn't use to bother me at all.

They are very good chips!

So I guess, no one has had protein show up in their urine before? Just curious.

I never have.

My daughter did but it was when she had HSP. Once that got better she didn't have the protein in her urine anymore. That was about a 3 month ordeal.....I think going gluten free helped her get over the last of that.

jmengert Enthusiast

Fritos really are the best chip, aren't they? I miss chips. I hate that all of them have such CC issues, and the Lays Stax have soy in them, so they're out for me. You'd think potato chips would be easy to do gluten-free and have them guaranteed to be gluten-free!

AndreaB Contributor
Fritos really are the best chip, aren't they?

Yep. One of the reasons, getting sick aside, that I stopped eating them is that it isn't organic corn. A lot of non organic corn is GMO.....plus I don't think corn oil is all that good for us. Probably part of the flavor of these guys though.

Yeah.... I love how you snuck those confessions in there.

Oh, and I have finished my spreadsheet (Excel) with everyone's Igenix results so if anyone wants a copy let me know.

YES...please!

I would love to have a copy. :)

does anyone know if beans in a can or coconut milk in a can contain mold in them?

You sound just like me. I told the dentist to pull all my teeth out and he refused. Says some kind of chinese belief that everything is connected to everything else to make the body work properly or something. I have had blood in my urine.

I have never had protein in my urine before but that is something going on with your kidneys. I just had blood drawn in emergency 2 weeks ago and my BUN was somewhat high. But I think it was because of the milk of magnesia. I also have high ketones but I think that is from not eating very much.

glad your o.k. today though

So I guess, no one has had protein show up in their urine before? Just curious.

'Scuze me for buttin in, but I just happened to see this.

Christine,

I have proteinurea. I take those tests every 4 months. I have a condition called Minimal Change Disease / Nephrotic Syndrome (A kidney disease) - Dx'd by chance during a physical exam 4 years ago. There's another one on the board too. But, MCD is only one of many reasons why you would have this going on. If I can help you understand in some way, I'll give it my best shot.

Take Care,

Kat

NCGS does not cause damage to the small bowel villi so, if indeed you were not skimping on gluten when you had the antibody blood testing done, it is likely you have celiac disease.
    • Scott Adams
I will assume you did the gluten challenge properly and were eating a lot of gluten daily for 6-8 weeks before your test, but if not, that could be the issue. You can still have celiac disease with negative blood test results, although it's not as common:  Clinical and genetic profile of patients with seronegative coeliac disease: the natural history and response to gluten-free diet: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5606118/  Seronegative Celiac Disease - A Challenging Case: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9441776/  Enteropathies with villous atrophy but negative coeliac serology in adults: current issues: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34764141/  Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.
    • Xravith
I'm very confused... My blood test came out negative, I checked all antibodies. I suppose my Total IgA levels are normal (132 mg/dl), so the test should be reliable. Still, I'm not relieved as I can't tolerate even a single biscuit. I need to talk to my doctor about whether a duodenal biopsy is necessary. But it is really possible to have intestinal damage despite having a seronegative results? I have really strong symptoms, and I don't want to keep skipping university lectures or being bedridden at home.
    • Scott Adams
They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.
    • Scott Adams
In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?
