Dear Carla,

Thank you for the update! Things are looking good for you and Chloe! How encouraging! You sure have to take a lot of pills! I do not know how you do it! Do you have a medicine schedule or something to help you keep track?

Ha! And I didn't even tell you all the supplements I'm taking! LOL

I have them sitting on a tray and based where they are on the tray, I know when to take them. Not very scientific, but I don't do well looking over at Excel sheets before I take my meds!

Kassandra, I'm excited about your progress. Yes, you are correct, if another lab shows positive, you don't need to spend the money on IGeneX.

We're going to show some tough love to our son, so he won't have the option of doing what your brother is doing. That must be frustrating for you. Here he is healthy and blowing it, and you're sick and stuggling to do well.

Yeah, you definately look like Quasimoto in your avatar ... NOT!

Sherry, thanks, he's required a lot of energy to parent, that's for sure. I also think you're right, that it's better to keep him on meds and see what happens ... I'm thinking it could be Lyme brain, too ... I know I can be Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, so why not him?

Susie, I used Detoxamin, plus NAC and Alpha Lipoic Acid to chelate the lead. You don't want to use the NAC without the Detoxamin. It's an EDTA suppository. You can Google it to see if you think it's something that would work for you. It does not work very well on mercury, but if your primary problem is lead, it's a good product.

I don't know whether it was the timing of the chalation of the lead, or just having treated Lyme for several months now, but I no longer have food sensitivities (not even to gluten).

Dear Kassandra,

I will be anxious to hear about the appointment today! I hope it goes well! :) We are all pulling for you! Thank goodness the doctor you are seeing knows about Celiac! So many know absolutely nothing.

Your appointment for Halloween is coming soon! Everyone in Rachelville is keeping their fingers crossed for you. For the record, you do not look anything like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! You are very pretty! I bet your back will be alright, we just need to keep sending positive energy your way!

Information on the female troubles would be good. Maybe there is something I am not thinking of. I had many cysts in the past. The Depo-Provera is the only thing that works. It has messed my periods up, though. The past couple years, I have had a period off and on every single day! I was tested for anemia, and I am fine though. :) I used to have it.

Dear Andrea,

Do you ever wonder if you are cursed? I often feel this way. There is something called a generational curse, and I think I have one. They spoke about them in the Bible. It says "The sins of the father are passed down to the son." My mother never had bad luck until she married my father. What does that tell you?

Before the dog comes home, I think I need to do a spell. This curse needs broken. I do not deserve to suffer for horrible things my ancestors have done. Trust me, they are not nice people on that side. All of the men were known to be notoriously selfish and stubborn. In Wicca, we are allowed to do spells to get us something we need, such as a new job, a home, a new car, etc. as long as it does not hurt anyone or anything.

Dear Sherry,

I have tried to find data entry jobs from home. So far, none I have found are legitimate. :( Do you have any links or know of specific companies that are reputable? I have not been able to see any good ones so far. Most want you to pay a start-up fee, which is usually a scam.

I hope your trip goes well! Where are you going this time? It sure would be nice to get to travel a bit. Being stuck in the house all the time is so boring and depressing. I am glad you get to see the world! Maybe one day, I will too!

That is wonderful news about you feeling better! :) The Zith must be working its magick! I like that antibiotic. My system is not nearly as aggravated by it. Sometimes I might get the poops a bit, but it is not bad. A lot of other people have much worse effects on antibiotics.

Dear Susie,

One thing I am sure of. The lead probably contributed to your miscarriage. Lead caused the Romans to die out. Sterility was a major problem back in that era. Their plumbing had lead pipes.

It is so true that the skin absorbs more than any other organ. Bath water can be toxic. There are shower filters you can get that purify the shower water. Rachel got one. I wish we had one. The shower water smells like chlorine! When I take a shower, my hair smells like pool water.

I think you are on the right track. I do not know why you would end up constipated. However, Rachel had the same trouble before. It may have to do with Candida. Constipation is really common. If the lead is being stirred up, the Candida is as well. Constipation is common with Candida.

If you feel you should stop the detoxers, do so. Whatever your intuition tells you is the right thing. Your body senses what it needs. The trouble is, we often forget or ignore it when it speaks to us. Trust your feelings. At least, this is the best advice I could give you until you are able to contact Foresight on Monday.

Dear Carla,

I am not an Excel person either! That program and I have a mutual dislike of each other! I keep a medicine log. I just take a piece of notebook paper, then put column headings of medication, time, what day, and the time. I even write am/pm and the colons ahead of time so I do not have to spend so much time writing it down. I hang it on the refrigerator.

Speaking of supplements, do you know if the ones from drugstore.com are any good? They have some good prices, but Dad is concerned they could be old. I am trying to save us money, but like Dad said, sacrificing quality is not good. I just want to be able to start doing something to help how I am feeling. Some of these symptoms I am having coincide with a magnesium deficiency, and B Vitamin deficiencies.

I had no idea there were suppositories of EDTA! I will keep that in mind if I end up with lead poisoning. Aluminum is probably my biggest trouble. I use foil a lot more than I should. I have tried to not use it so frequently, but if you cannot detox, there is still whatever was already there complicating matters.

I know you are worried about your son. It will be alright. Being tough is not easy, but it is for his own good. One day, he will appreciate it. You and Adam are good parents, and are just doing what is best for your son. No one would fault you for that.

Dear Everyone,

I called the vet this morning, and Dart is doing very well. :) He is in a room where people are there constantly monitoring him and other animals. We should be able to take him home Monday. I am going to call back again before noon and see how he is then. It sure has been quiet around here since he has been at the vet.

Sincerely,

Jin

Carla,

LOL!!! I don't really look like a hunchback, but if I sit naturally, I totally do! I remember sitting up straight in my avatar picture so I wouldn't look silly! As far as my brother, I totally agree that some MAJOR tough love needs to happen. I think it is ridiculous that he does nothing, and I agree...you must have been a great parent.

I agree with Jin, I have no IDEA how you remember to take all of your meds/supplements. That is my worry, how to remember to take them all at school, etc. Also, how does Chloe deal with school...has she had to miss a lot of it?

Jin,

My (Lyme) appointment is actually for next Saturday, and my back appt. is on Halloween. I wish they were both this week. Waiting is killing me!!!!!! I am so READY for some answers. I am worried though my back appt. isn't going to tell us anything. I am afraid he is going to tell me that he can't do anything for me, but I guess I'll try to stop worrying and just wait to see what he says.

So, last night, I did just that, and boy did my intestines give me problems in the night. My lower intestines were burning up. I had C when I woke up today and a normal BM an hour or so later, which made me feel much better.

We take detoxers in the morning and evening as per our Dr's instructions. A little more chlorella for us in the evening but otherwise everthing is the same.

As far as filters for the shower. We use one but I don't know what all it takes out.....I know chlorine though.

Speaking of supplements, do you know if the ones from drugstore.com are any good? They have some good prices, but Dad is concerned they could be old. I am trying to save us money, but like Dad said, sacrificing quality is not good.

I bought some of our stuff from vitacost.com. They have good brands and long expiration dates as well as great prices!

mftnchn Explorer

Jin, check out Beyond A Century for prices. They have some really good ones and my doc uses them regularly. What I like is that a lot are powders and very pure. Plus they are great about answering questions.

mftnchn Explorer

Also, sorry, I don't know what to suggest about the data entry. Do employment agencies handle that type of thing?

Maybe check colleges nearby, sometimes the bulletin boards post part time positions in the community.

mftnchn Explorer

Yes, on the zithromax. Herx just lasted a couple of days this time, but still not that much improvement in stool. I'll see what happens first week of Nov when I take another week off my abx.

Hey all-

how is everyone-

Rachel-

How did the DMPS go? I cannot wait to hear about it . I hope it went alright. DO you know which company they sent it out to for testing? if its doctors data even though they say it takes 10 days or so they usually have the results sooner.

Julie-

How are you doing?

Kassandra-

you are beautiful!!!!! NO more hunchback talk!!!

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Kassandra,

I say your brother needs a major noogie! My brother finally came around after having D so bad he nearly lost his job. I told him if he got sick enough, he would do the diet. About a month ago, he finally decided to give it a go. Now, he is feeling great, and has a whole new lease on life! He is not as negative as he used to be. I think the gluten was depressing him.

I wondered the same thing about Chloe. Taking supplements like that has to be awkward when you try to get through a regular school day. I am amazed the school does not fight about it. Just for me to be able to carry my inhaler around in school, I had to have special written permission from our doctor! Our school corporation was lousy. It still is.

Someone my best friend knew had a deadly reaction to corn, peanuts, and some other items. Just smelling popcorn would cause this girl to go into a severe asthma attack. :o There were a number of times she had to be resuscitated. The school was refusing to allow her to carry her Epi-Pen. Her school nurse would never have been able to make it in time. It was absurd, because they actually had to go to court and get an order for her to have her Epi-Pen with her.

Oh, your appointment is next week! I thought that would have been short notice. That shows how well my brain is working lately. Do you ever just get a major case of the duhs? I fear my brain is turning to mush since I have been out of school.

Dear Andrea,

RiceGuy also is a big fan of VitaCost. That confirms they are a good place to go. :) I checked out a number of supplements. I know VitaCost does not sell some of what I need. Stevia is very inexpensive and high quality there. I need to do a search on there and see what all they carry. Thank you for the info!

I think the first thing I am going to detox with is lemon water. After that, the next week will be charcoal being added. I have taken charcoal in the past, but for a different reason. It is worth a try to just add a new thing every week. I do not want to overwhelm my system. I have made a list of what to add each week.

Dear Sherry,

Beyond A Century is something I never had heard of. It is worth a look, too! You can find things in the most unusual places sometimes! If it were not for the Internet, I think I would be at a total loss on things. Thank you for the tip!

There are a couple of colleges I could check. The staffing agencies do have data entry positions, but none are from home. Most are at places where you have a full-time job. I really would be better off with something from home. I have contemplated working as a freelance artist. Getting the word out for clients is the tough part.

I am glad your herx was not a long one. :) Those can be very difficult to deal with. It can be totally miserable. Zith is great stuff, so I think it probably is helping. You have to go off of it, and then you will probably notice the difference more. I am not sure what is going on with the stool, but I hope it improves soon!

Dear Mia,

Hello, how are you? I am about the same. I am going to begin taking some supplements and see how I do. I worry I will not tolerate them, but you do not know unless you try. Some of the passing out feeling could be low magnesium and B Vitamin levels.

Dear Everyone,

I called on Dart yesterday before the vet closed. He is doing very well! We should be taking him home sometime tomorrow! I still feel terrible that he swallowed my hair and it got stuck in his small intestine. :( The vet took a picture of it! When I called to check on him, they asked my last name, and they still were not sure who I was. Then, I told them I had the dog with the hairball, and they began laughing and were like "Oh, yeah!"

Sincerely,

Jin

Mia,

I havent had the DMPS yet...not until Friday.

My first IV only contained glutathione, vit c and minerals. It was kind of a "practice" to see if I could tolerate it.

I "passed" but have to wait a week in between IV's so cant do DMPS till Friday.

I did react to the IV....I think it was the Vit. C but cant say for sure. I've reacted to C so many times in the past that I'm just assuming thats what it was.

Actually vit. c is suppossed to be avoided on the low oxalate diet which might be why I always end up having problems with it.

Anyways, I did feel some head stuff during the IV....but mostly after I left the Dr.'s office. It was the typical swelling of muscles that I get in my head/face/jaw. I got a stiff neck...stuff like that.

Daily vitamin C should be very low if you're having problems with oxalates....and I'm still trying to determine how much of an issue this is for me. Vit C turns to oxalate in the liver but I'm not sure how quickly someone might feel the symptoms. I'm also not sure how high the dose of Vit. C was in the IV.

I read that the Vit. C could continue to cause problems for up to 2 weeks...as far as oxalates go. I still have some swelling since Wednesday.

I'm gonna call the Dr.'s office this week and ask how necessary it is to have the Vit. C in my IV....cuz if its causing a reaction I dont see how it can be helping. I dont want then to tell me I cant have the DMPS but I dont want to have all this swelling all over again either. :(

I'm so glad you decided to call. I stand behind you 100% on this, you know that.

I still think it would be better to take your own vit c if they have to have it with the DMPS for some reason.

Hi everyone! I've been busy ... feeling much better, so I painted the vacant rental house yesterday ... the whole thing! My daughter did the kitchen. This is good because the house has been vacant for two months ... we need to get it leased out, but I've been so sick and Adam's always very busy when I feel bad.

I wanted to update you ... I didn't want to keep taking all I was taking for my digestive problems, so I let each run out and took one at a time. The VSL#3 is ultimately the one that really helps the most. Without it, I have constant diarrhea.

The oregano oil helps, too, but with the bart treatment, I don't get the stomach pain anymore, so I no longer need it.

Have a great Sunday ... I'm a little tired after yesterday, LOL, but I played my flute at Mass this morning for the first time in a month and a half ... I had been feeling too bad to play. Interestingly, I had no trouble playing the decorative flutey parts ... normally I can play melody or harmony, but get lost in the counting of the more decorative parts where I'm playing something different than everyone else. I guess something is helping with the brain fog. :)

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Rachel,

I am sorry to hear you reacted to the Vitamin C. :( I know you have had a terrible time with it in the past. I can see why you would worry that they will not allow you to do the chelator if you cannot tolerate the Vitamin C. Hopefully, they can just take it out. You probably cannot handle the Vitamin C due to the oxalate conversion. Oxalates act as chelators naturally, and it could just be trying to move those stupid metals around.

Dear Andrea,

I agree that Rachel knows what her body likes and does not like. The doctor should still be able to do the IV. At least these types of doctors are more aware that the patient knows what their body can handle. So many doctors in conventional medicine do not do this.

Dear Carla,

That is great you have accomplished so much! :) You probably are a bit sore today. Still, it is great you are feeling so much better! I have a lot of fatigue. Getting much done is not possible on many days. If I overdo it, I will be sick at the end of the day, and be totally useless for the next day.

I am hoping that the Solgar Bone Meal will help. It has 417% of the daily requirement of B12 and 100% of the daily calcium intake needed. There is no wheat, soy, yeast, dairy, sugar or starch in it. I am so worried I am not absorbing anything. Dad says that sublingual B complexes are a waste of money and that they are no better than the others. I just hope the Bone Meal does not irritate my system any.

I hope it does not interact with Prilosec or Celexa. I could not find anything when I did a search. I also thought you needed Vitamin B6 to absorb B12. Calcium normally needs Vitamin D and Magnesium. The supplement does not have them in there. Also, does B12 need to be eating with fat, protein, or carbs to be absorbed best?

I was also thinking that my coffee could prevent me from absorbing certain vitamins. Do I need to wait an hour or two after finishing my coffee to take them? I know calcium is often depleted if taken with coffee. I do not know about any other vitamins or minerals. I wanted to take a multi, but if I do not absorb things through my gut (what are the odds it has healed since I get glutened periodically?) there would be no point. I think my best bet is to buy a sublingual B complex and magnesium.

Sincerely,

Jin

confusedks Enthusiast

Ami,

Thank you! LOL! It was funny though. I still think it would be fun to go to his office dressed as a hunchback! I think he would laugh since he is a pediatric doctor!

Jin,

That's interesting to hear about your brother. I think if my brother actually HAD a job, it would be a different story. But he has done nothing since January! :o

I actually had asthma when I was younger and I had an inhaler also, but I just never told the school that I had it and I left it in my backpack because I needed it whenever we did anything physical. Then the school caught on, and they made me put it in the nurse's office, but once I had such a bad asthma attack I couldn't make it there so the nurse had to come and run out to give it to me. Then they ended up giving it back to me to keep because it was a serious problem.

As far as supplements, I would like to hear how Chloe does it, but I know that I leave all my meds (motrin, vicodin, zofran, etc.) in my backpack, but I am in High School. If there ever is a problem, they can feel free to call one of my Dr.'s. The main reason is because if I get nauseous I need the Zofran ASAP otherwise I won't get to the nurse's in time. It is a little awkward taking them at lunch (I was taking 8 pills at lunch for a while) but my friends are okay with it. The hardest part is not laughing when I take them all because I have had water come out of my mouth before!!!

Glad to hear about your dog! :)

Rachel,

I hope they are okay with you not taking the Vit. C in the IV's. Looking forward to an update on that. :)

Carla,

Glad to hear you are doing better! I am jealous of the brain fog being lifted. I feel like I always have some sort of attention disorder these days, and I never used to. I could study for hours and never need a break, but now if I study for 10 minutes I need a 30-40 min. break and STILL can't remember what I studied. :(

Everyone,

I can't remember if I talked about this on this thread or not, but we are in the process of getting a 504 plan for me to help with all the absences, etc. This way if I need to take a couple days off of school, I will be able to without getting the wrath from my teachers. I will also get extensions on work if I need to. So, the meeting for that is on Tuesday. We have to sit in front of a board of 6 people (principal, etc.) and they will decide if I am a good candidate. If we don't get accepted, we are going to get an attorney because the school has no reason to accept me. I have very good reasons for one. We are preparing for that (getting x-rays ready, printing out info on Celiac, etc.) which is a big pain in the butt!

I hope everyone has a good day!

Kassandra

I tried a handful of organic, gluten free cornflakes (just corn flour and salt).

BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER.

A few hours later I was sweating, dizzy, angry, exhausted and my brain was no where to be found.

(I was hoping to be able to have a grain to base meals around, but apparently I was over zealous)

I also had to take out dried dates (mouth reaction and regurgitation)

peanut butter (acid burning & regurgitation)

pickles (heartburn)

I did make a soup with collard greens, carrots, onions, chicken stock (homemade), yams that stayed down very well.

I also stewed prunes with some cardamom, and as long as I don't eat more than 7 of those, they work - in more ways than 1.

Roasted chicken also is doing ok as long as I don't eat it alone and not too much.

The biggest breakthrough - hot cocoa mix (milk free) into baby formula. It makes the baby-vomit-burnt-tires taste less noticeable and I can at least get down half a glass.

(None of the three hydrolyzed protein powdered I tried worked. I bloated and regurgitated them all.)

I overwhelming want to eat an entire bag of candy corn RIGHT NOW. Thank goodness there aren't any in the house.

Melmak,

What stands out to me about these foods is that they're all yeasty/moldy.

Peanut butter = very high in molds

Pickles = fermented and highly yeasty

Dried dates (as well as other dried fruits) = very moldy

Corn = the moldiest grain

Those are actually all high on the list of foods to avoid with mold/yeast problems so you may want to consider looking into that as part of your problem.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

I've been trying to follow along but I think I fell behind the past few days. Dont know if I'll have time to go back but I will try. :)

Melmak...I meant to ask....are you Kristina??

I saw Jin addressing a Kristina and was kind of stumped as to who that was.

Sorry if I missed that.

Hmmm...maybe KAT is Kristina??

Who is Kristina???

Please help...I'm a bit brainfogged since my IV.

Rachel,

When you went off corn, did you notice a big difference? Are you still off of it? I have thought about going off, but I don't know if I should. I think it would just be yet "another" intolerance which is probable a product of Lyme?

I saw Jin addressing a Kristina and was kind of stumped as to who that was.

Yes, Kristina is Melmak. Jin must have known that from another thread as it wasn't mentioned over here before Jin responded to one of her posts. :)

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Kassandra,

I am very proud of my brother! :) He has done so well! Plus, he does not have the other issues I have. That makes it easier for him to recover quicker. Chad actually gets out and about even when he does not have to work, now! For a while, he hardly could even visit my grandparents and help them out. They live near his place.

Were you responding to a post Ami made the other day? If it was a post from today, I did not see it. That is why I was wondering. Some posts do not show on here until later. The forum can be odd that way. Hey, you could go to the doctor as a hunchback and be Igor.

I am glad the school relented and let you have the inhaler with you. We had to get the note from the doctor. I was like you, the exercise aggravated mine. :( Our gym classes required us to run the mile for a grade, and every time I did, I would be out of school for two weeks. I would normally end up with broncchitis. Then, they would complain that I missed a lot of school, so we had to get a doctor's excuse for me to walk the mile instead.

I know exactly what you mean with the nausea. I have to have the Promethazine immediately! :o It hits so suddenly at times. Nausea is the most unbearable symptom! I sometimes packed pills in high school. Usually, it was just acitomenophen or Tums. I never took painkillers like what you have to take.

I hope you get the approval for the 504! I wish I had thought of that in school. I was actually forced to withdrawal to save my GPA. They forced me to drop out, despite having doctor's excuses. Our school corp sucks.

However, this was actually a good thing. Indiana is the 49th of 50 states in high school rankings! I ended up finishing my schooling with The American School by mail, which is fully accredited with real diplomas. It turns out, I actually upgraded by dropping out, because Illinois public schools were ranked 48th! Now that is sad.

I am glad Dart is fine now, too. I do not know if he will be eating solid foods or what. Intestinal surgery is pretty rough. It is still scary that my hair did this to him. Maybe I have a hairball!

Dear Kristina,

I am with Rachel. Mold is in all of those foods! No wonder you are so ill! :( I am sure Candida is at least some of your trouble. I get reflux from just about everything anymore, too. Peanuts naturally have mold present.

Dates and any other form of high carbohydrate fruit that is dried has fungus on it. This is unavoidable. Food has mold.

Some naturally have it, while others easily develop it. Pickles have vinegar. Vinegar does not like my system either! You probably feel like you swallowed Hades! That is how I get, too.

Dear Rachel,

I was thinking the exact same thing! Fungus is everywhere! I hate mold! It causes me so much trouble! Nothing seems safe to eat! If only mold would mind its own business!

Dear Andrea,

You are right! Kristina is melmak5. We were chatting on another thread some time ago. This was before she came to this thread. I encouraged her to come. I knew you guys could help her if no one else could! ;)

Sincerely,

Jin

melmak5 Contributor

I am Kristina, sorry for the confusion.

My first symptom was excessive burping, and since Alf was so proud of his burps with gusto, my name is a little joke/play on that.

Has anyone here had a problem with mold?

My roommate mentioned to me the other day.... what if its your cheese?

As part of my MA thesis I recreated a cheese from 18th century Massachusetts and its been aging in a small fridge in my bedroom, since last November.

I used to work in a cheese shop, and have been around cheese molds before, but I moved the whole operation out of my room "just in case."

I really don't think its the cause, but has anyone been diagnosed with mold toxicity and/or been treated for it?

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Kristina,

Cheese is not allowed on the Candida Diet because of mold. It is aged, and as a result, irritates symptoms in people with an overgrowth of yeast. You are in the right place at the right time! :) Mold toxicity is a common issue here. Donna and Rachel have had issues with this.

Another thing to consider is toxic mold in your living space. It can hide behind walls, in books, you name it. No place is safe from it! I am sure we have it in the basement. One of my classmates lost a kidney because of exposure to Aspergillus and Penicillium. :o

Candida is something that often is causing all of these reactions. Exposure to molds of all kinds will make things worse.

Even mold in your refrigerator can make you sick! Leftover foods are not allowed on the Candida Diet, because mold begins growing on foods more than 24 hours old in the refrigerator! I knew you belonged here! Do not worry, we will help you figure things out!

Alf, I love Alf! B) I grew up watching that show! I had a feeling that is where you got that from! Do remember when Taco Bell came out with those hand puppets of Alf in the Hawaiian shirt? I still have them! You are not the only one who burps like that. I could put a sailor to shame, and I always have belched like that!

Sincerely,

Jin

I feel like a complete idiot for not thinking of it myself.

I am going to freak out if it was this cheese the whole time making me sick.

I haven't had dairy or cheese, but I would NEVER have thought that my cheese project could have done this.

Is there a quick way to find out whats going on and/or heal? (delusions of grandeur I am sure)

I'm so glad you decided to call. I stand behind you 100% on this, you know that.

Thanks Andrea....we'll see what happens. :)

My main concern with taking the Vit C in my IV with the DMPS is that *if* its oxalate related and possibly binding with metals or causing other disturbances....what if it interferes with excretion somehow??

I dont really know what could happen but I believe all this stuff is interlinked and I just wanna make sure nothing intereferes with the DMPS and excretion of mobilized metals.

Of course...I really dont know *for sure* that it was the Vit. C....or that the same thing wont happen w/out it in the IV...but at least I'd be able to rule out oxalates as a cause for the reaction.

Prior to my IV I had asked the nurse if anyone reacts to the stuff....she said its mostly B vitamins that people react to....which is why they left them out of my IV...but the rest is pretty well tolerated by most.

There was 2 other people there with me in the IV room....they both had B vitamins in their IV...but I'm "special". :(

Thanks for the flight info.!! :)

Its definately affordable.....maybe every 6 weeks I could do it. I'll try to get on the ball with the phone calls this week. I'll send emails out to both Dr.'s...maybe Scott too...try to get this figured out.

I think you will be 100% behind my other decision as well. :D

No more toxic people bringing me down!!

Yeah...yeah....I know I've said it before but this time theres no going back.

I'm really mad at myself for falling into this again...and no matter how I look at it I dont see how it could be "innocent". Its a total deception and lack of consideration for my health issues...I dont see it any other way. <_<

The last conversation did not go well...very much on the defensive and *I'm* totally overreacting about nothing. It was just something that never "came up" before.

Whatever....it was the last conversation. I cant have that kind of negativity and deception around me.

Hopefully life will continue to bring happiness my way. :)

Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
