Donna, I think the physical only counts as a physical if you are feeling fine. If you go in for the breast pain, it will be covered like a regular doctor's appt. ... you won't get a complete physical, just the exam for the reason you went in.

I had a gyno issue last year ... same thing, two months before my appt. Seems like it would have been cheaper and easier to do the full exam at the same time, but since when does insurance make sense?

Oh, good advice on the foundation color ... it is always better to error on the lighter side than the darker side. :) If you want more color, use blush or bronzer.

Thanks Carla! I think I'll go home today and check my journal to get my dates straight, then call and see what happens.

Donna,

My mom had the same problem last yr. She was so scared. She could not even put an bra on that it hurt way to bad. She has had lumps in her boobs for years before this due to drinking pop. But when she went to the dr, they couldnt find anything wrong with her breast. She did end up having other problems in the other female area but they were not connected to the sore boobs.

btw, I have had breast pain from Lyme, and it is one of the symptoms on the list of symptoms that my LLMD has us check over every time we go for an appt. So, it could be Lyme-related ... but it's always good to have something like that checked out.

Green12 Enthusiast

Yeah Donna, I would have to agree that this is something you should have checked out, just to rule things out and put your mind at ease.

I know nothing about insurance and such, but I am hoping Carla's thoughts on going in for a normal appt. will work in this case.

I have always had lumpy cystic breast tissue, but I only get pain at ovulation and the pms part of the cycle.

Maybe it's hormone related and your hormones are shifting?

dlp252 Apprentice
Maybe it's hormone related and your hormones are shifting?

Maybe, but the pain is pretty constant. It's been every day for a couple of months now. I'm 52, so it could be hormonal, but wouldn't that be constant? Could also be some of the supplements I'm taking for the neurotransmitters I guess.

I've seen Evening Primrose Oil suggested on several sites for breast pain and was thinking of getting some just to see if it helps, but for some reason, Evening Primose Oil sticks out in my mind as something I might not want to take...wish I could remember why, lol.

I wish I knew, keep us posted about what you decide to do.

I took EPO years back, and I remember hearing something about it too that was a good reason not to take it...can't recall what it was either

Donna,

Let us know what your doctor says.

T was on EPO until we ran out of it.

dlp252 Apprentice

Well, I couldn't find a lot of serious side affects from EPO:

Maybe it was the liver congestion I was thinking of.

dlp252 Apprentice

Yeah, maybe that's what I was thinking too...or maybe it was because had some surgery...I don't know, lol. I don't remember really ever checking into it before, so it was something that said don't take this if...

CarlaB Enthusiast

I used to take Primrose Oil ... now I'm taking fish oils from my LLMD. It could be of benefit to you. I gave it to both Morgan and Chloe as they were going through puberty ... I know Morgan really noticed a difference in her hormonal swings (read "mood swings", LOL).

dlp252 Apprentice

Yeah, my LLMD wants me to take EFAs in the worst ways, but I haven't found any that I don't react to...may as well try this too, lol.

Does anyone have shortness of breath and really a fast heart rate? I feel like I can't breath properly...it almost feels like when I had asthma and I was having an attack. It's not air hunger I don't think, unless air hunger can last for days and days.

confused Community Regular

rachel,

I was reading what u said about ttg could be other things then celiac, is that only for the stool test or is that for blood work also. If its for blood work to, is that an reason why mine is still high in blood? All of the my other numbers are normal in the celiac panel but the ttg. If so that would make so much more sense to me then trying to fgure out why that is still high. My nd did say my candida is off the charts.

sounds like air hunger .... it's from the babs .... both the heart symptom and the breathing symptom. I HATED that.

Is it time for a herx? That was always one of my first symptoms a herx was coming on. If not, it could be the full moon .... babesia is a parasite, which is affected by the full moon.

Rpm999 Contributor

confused: i don't see how it could be anything other than the candida, that would make sense to me, especially since it's so high...see if it lowers when that's healed up a bit

I'm taking cod liver oil and I can't say enough about it either.

Cod liver oil and charcoal, who would of thought

Yeah, I've been wondering if cod liver oil would work. I'm afraid to buy it. I've tried fish oil capsules and I react to those. I react to flax of all kinds, um, seems like I tried one other kind of EFA, can't remember though. Oh hemp...reacted to that too.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Donna, I take Arctic Oils brand Omega Pure. They are mercury-free fish oil EFA's. Maybe they would test okay for you.

It may be time for a herx. I don't really know. I haven't herxed badly at all since I started the Mepron. It may take a while. I hate the heart/breathing stuff! Ugh, I feel like I'm dying, lol. <_<

CarlaB Enthusiast

Kassandra, you might count back how many days ago you started the Mepron ... it might give you an idea what kind of herx schedule to expect. :)

It's actually a physical reaction. I bought some mercury-free...tried a couple of different kinds too...one I got from my doctor, one from Whole Foods. But, I haven't tried cod liver oil yet--I can eat cod without reacting, so it's possible. I can't eat flax in any form, nor hemp apparently.

Do you think its because Evening Primrose Oil is high in plant estrogens?

Also, you might consider the new thermography. It is less invasive, less painful and doesn't put radiatio in the body. Plus it shows more abnormalities earlier.

Oh, thanks, I'll ask about this.

Welcome to the forum, @Mmoc! Please include the reference ranges for the IGA and the TTG tests in your next post if you have access to them. We cannot comment much otherwise as different labs use different reference ranges for these tests and also different units of measurement. There are no universal standards as of yet so the raw test numbers are not always helpful. Having said that, if your IGA (what we usually call "total IGA") is low, the TTG-IGA score will be skewed and cannot be trusted. Other kinds of tests for celiac disease would need to be run, particularly those in the IGG family of tests. Perhaps this will be helpful:

Hi there any advice welcomed. I have had 4 years of symptoms ranging from immune related anaphylactic symptom sudden onset food allergy to peppers/paprika/chilli/capsicum family derivatives. all these allergies fizzled out and following a food challenge test in hospital I reintroduced them a few months ago. Since then my digestive system is a mess. i have since noticed that 4 years ago when testing for iga allergies my iga level was .62 and my ttg was less than .1 (due to symptoms I was probably eating very plainly at that time). should I insist on being retested for celiac? I’ve since read two indicators for celiac include: sensitive to spicy foods when in flare up tooth enamel weakness and symmetrical discolouration patches on teeth which I have had since childhood on my two front teeth     thanks

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
