Good Morning everyone. Hope you all slept well. Here I am on the west coast time zone and I go to bed before the East Coast people.

It does not pay to go to sleep. Then you have to scroll several pages back on many of the threads to play catch up. Can't wait until Lynne and I go to Vegas on Thursday. I will never catch up when I get home.

That worked really well, so now you will know it's me! I am now back from my little trip, had a great time but sure missed all of you! It is going to take me days to read what everyone has been up to. If there are any highlights be sure to let me know!

We did go to the Outback but I have been pretty ill since we ate there. It could of been the Farmer John ham my mom put on the pizza, just looked at the label as I was eating it and saw soy sauce and wheat!

Anyway, I am glad to be back and hopefully my stomach will calm down

I think "Good googly moogly" goes back a lot farther than that-- I remember my grandfather used to say it & he's been dead over 30 years... sometimes it was "Great googly moogly" if the occasion warranted! He was from Mississippi, so maybe it was a local thing...

Burping contests, I don't think I've burped since going gluten-free, but prior to that, no guy could outburp me ... not that they ever knew for sure because I wouldn't burp in front of them But Adam would vouch for me that theirs was lame compared to mine.

So I found where the burping conversation came from....I was trying to catch up in Rachelville when I got confused about some of the carried over burps. Someone told me it came from another thread....so it's this thread...

OMG Eight Below...my friend and her daughters left this in tears in the first 10 minutes, went into another theatre, they slipped back in for the end, said it was wonderful but once I heard that, knew I couldn't go - - all those dogs left alone!! Remember, this is the girl who was forbidden to watch Lassie when it was on.....got grounded from it as started sobbing madly the minute the music started....had to get myself under control to watch it and never fully did.....still walk out of movies in which animals are in peril.....

Just a brief post - don't know what's going on - have sunk into a pit and crawling my way out.....heinous....thought I"d never see this place again Will get through but it will take a bit of time.

Allow yourself the pit. I learned the hard way that when you talk yourself out of all your bad feelings, they just come back to haunt you later. Better to deal with it now, eat a gallon of ice cream or something, wallow in self-pity for a while. Sorry it's so hard ... but you'll move on to something better.

I got mad at God this morning very momentarily because I read a proverb or psalm, can't remember, and it said that things would be so good he'll "feed you wheat." I thought, "Great, then I'll be SICK!!" Funny how things hit us when you least expect it!

Carla - - thank you so much for those words.....and the very ironic Bible verse (I'm thinking God has a sense of humour? ) I thought I was THROUGH with all this, the down periods! Makes me angry.....and tired......here's another verse that came to me this morning:

Try the Beatitudes ... they're great to read when you're down. They tell you what your reward for your suffering will be! A great source of hope and strength.

God does have a sense of humor, I often laugh when reading scripture!! Some of it is hysterical ... even Jesus dealing with the apostles!

Geez, there is something in the air-so many of us down. I find myself repeating my "mantra" over and over more and more--"faith, hope, love" -using it a LOT more lately to keep myself calm and reasonably sane.

Susie, my dear Dingogirl, you are in my prayers--I know how hard it is to try to make sense of the crud life throws at you--sometimes all you can do is rest on faith. Please keep coming back here to keep us posted on how you are. I know it is easy to crawl into a shell-I want to myself quite frequently , but just to let us know you are ok until you get through this hard time. Ice cream is a good idea, but maybe not nuggets.

Susan, you have to really look at the Ostrich. That sucker will cheer anyone up. When I get kinda down, I come on here, look for my ostrich and then just smile. He has the most goofy loving look and that is why I wanted him from Floridian. So, remember to look for the ostrich and let him take your cares away.

Thursday morning I leave for the airport and my trip to Las Vegas. Lynne and I have our planes land about 15 minutes apart. That is so cool. We are going to have a great time. We both have been trying to get plenty of rest this past week, so that we can really enjoy ourselves.
