That is wonderful news Celia. Don't feel bad as we have all been there and done that. And everyone is right - this is called a support group. You have a great doctor with a wonderful sense of humor.

How do I add my name under MY photo (he he)?

Hope everyone is doing better tonight.

<------------------------------------------------------is my bratty cat lounging by the pool. He LOVES water. He is a big nerdball. One day this summer I had looked out to see what he was doing (he only gets let out every once in a while and I always keep my eye on him). Here he was......paws dangling in the pool. I snuck back inside grabbed the camera and snapped his picture. So that's him...........chillin at the pool.

He also spends a great deal of his time indoors in the bathtub or sink. When I take a bath in my big tub he is sittin on the edge trying to play in the water. When I get out, he gets in  Such a wierdo.......

-Jessica

OMG this is my mom's cat, she has three, and one HAS to play in the bathtub, the sink, is obsessed with water....ha ha ha ha I have never known of another cat this way! so crazy.....very cute..... :)

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is feeling better. I keep thinking of Celia and that "tap water" issue. I sure hope she is ok. I think the osmosis water is what I may do but don't know what kind. Any suggestions? Do they take up a lot of space?

Hi everyone......sad little dingo-girl meltdown....friends just left, it was so wonderful having them here for three nights...three extra people is crowded in my little house, but, the silence is screaming now...everything WOULD have been okay had we not seen R's brother at a yard sale this morning.....kind of funny, not one but TWO of R's ex-girlfriends coming up to him....so, he and I chatted for about 20 minutes, and he caught me up to date on everything....but now, just moping around here. *sniff* will the sadness over R. EVER fully go away? :(

God help me, I sent him a two-sentence email just now.....CISSIE - BRING YOUR GUN AND SHOOT ME......what was I thinking......blatant online confession.....dear gaaaaaaaaaawd..... :o

sorry this is so sad, you know how I am......it will get better, just a rough one today.....PLEASE say a collective prayer that I will fully recover from this man. There is a hug that only R. can provide, a lap and shoulder and strong comfy-bear warmth and solidness that is like no other, and I hate him for that - - he truly is a wonderful person, just, dysfunctional and non-committal.

gotta go .....this is another post that could be erased soon.....:o

Judy, I'm with you, this R is new to me ...

Susan, there are some guys you never get over ... you just move on. You will love the guy you end up with, but it doesn't mean that you ever "got over" the guy you didn't ... you just move on. Sometimes I think email should be outlawed, it makes it too easy to say things you would never say in person!!!

I didn't really catch up, just read the last two pages ... going to check in on R'ville, then back to the crowd in the living room! I got a little overwhelmed and snuck back here for a while for some quiet time.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

oh sweet friends, so sorry to cause confusion! Judy - remember, just PM me - - don't go back into any threads!!! no, R - well heck, that's ROBERT. the other one - JR - he's more of an...irritant. Bad news years ago but I am long over that one and was never truly in love.

Robert..... :( he's the one I've been whining about since I got on this forum in January. Gave up gluten adn R at about the same time, but he was still in my life, but he'd broken up wtih me a couple of weeks before dx. then....still off gluten....back onto robert. NOT GOOD. gave up Robert and my wine-drinking for good about 9 or 10 ?? weeks ago. feels like an eternity. Most days I'm okay....but not always. I just wonder if I"m ever NOT going to be in love with him? :(

DEAR GAAAAAAAAAAWED Cecile, don't you EVER feel bad again for your mucus-y days on here....I am the queen of baring the soul and sniveling whining.....aghhhhhhhhhhh :o

Carla, thank you for your wise words. I just want to MOVE ON......and today was a snag. a cc, as Leah so cleverly put it. :)

OMG - - OMG - - - OMG - - - good thing he's so freaking busy, a single parent with his own business and doens't care or have time to read any of this....OMG what if other people I know are reading this...ha ha ha ha ha ha doesn't matter, if they've known me for more than a month they'd know this anyway :lol::lol:

Just bought tires. how heinous is that? wanted to drive to the mountains, and realized that I seriously could not. Such an annoying expense. Think of all the FUN things you could buy with $500???

thank you all for your support......I want to move on....I want to move on...I WANT TO MOVE ON...... :(

Hi, Susan, just parachuting in here again to check on everyone. The right guy for you will NOT be dysfunctional, no matter how great he hugs. Sap that I am, I believe that true love ALWAYS comes with great hugs--but without dysfunctionality (is that even a word?).

burpability.....excellent....so, there are contests there?

Yes, I have 2 brothers & 2 sons, & that means all sorts of contests! Usually I am called upon to judge, which I hate, since someone always ends up mad at me. So I'm telling you now YOU ARE BOTH THE BEST!!

good googly moogly... :ph34r::lol::lol:

YAAAAAAAAH! It has been driving me UP THE WALL trying to remember where "Good googly moogly" comes from, but I finally remembered! It's from a Nick Jr. cartoon that was on about 5 or 6 years ago called "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast."

I can finally sleep now....

This is so funny, Fiddle--last night my husband and I were watching "Dining On Asphalt" on the Food Network. Alton Brown said "Good googly moogly" when talking about a gigantic burger!

I didn't know about the cartoon, though--I've only heard it on here from Celia :D

@Jane02, I hear you about the kale and collard greens.  I don't do dairy and must eat green leafies, too, to get sufficient calcium.  I must be very careful because some calcium supplements are made from ground up crustacean shells.  When I was deficient in Vitamin D, I took high doses of Vitamin D to correct the deficiency quickly.  This is safe and nontoxic.  Vitamin D level should be above 70 nmol/L.  Lifeguards and indigenous Pacific Islanders typically have levels between 80-100 nmol/L.   Levels lower than this are based on amount needed to prevent disease like rickets and osteomalacia. We need more thiamine when we're physically ill, emotionally and mentally stressed, and if we exercise like an athlete or laborer.  We need more thiamine if we eat a diet high in simple carbohydrates.  For every 500 kcal of carbohydrates, we need 500-1000 mg more of thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  If there's insufficient thiamine the carbs get stored as fat.  Again, recommended levels set for thiamine are based on minimum amounts needed to prevent disease.  This is often not adequate for optimum health, nor sufficient for people with absorption problems such as Celiac disease.  Gluten free processed foods are not enriched with vitamins like their gluten containing counterparts.  Adding a B Complex and additional thiamine improves health for Celiacs.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Thiamine helps the mitochondria in cells to function.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins.  They are all water soluble and easily excreted if not needed. Thank you so much @knitty kitty for this insightful information! I would have never considered fractionated coconut oil to be a potential source of GI upset. I will consider all the info you shared. Very interesting about the Thiamine deficiency.  I've tracked daily averages of my intake in a nutrition software. The only nutrient I can't consistently meet from my diet is vitamin D. Calcium is a hit and miss as I rely on vegetables, dark leafy greens as a major source, for my calcium intake. I'm able to meet it when I either eat or juice a bundle of kale or collard greens daily haha. My thiamine intake is roughly 120% of my needs, although I do recognize that I may not be absorbing all of these nutrients consistently with intermittent unintentional exposures to gluten.  My vitamin A intake is roughly 900% (~6400 mcg/d) of my needs as I eat a lot of sweet potato, although since it's plant-derived vitamin A (beta-carotene) apparently it's not likely to cause toxicity.  Thanks again!
    • knitty kitty
Hello, @Jane02,  I take Naturewise D 3.  It contains olive oil.   Some Vitamin D supplements, like D Drops, are made with fractionated coconut oil which can cause digestive upsets.  Fractionated coconut oil is not the same as coconut oil used for cooking.  Fractionated coconut oil has been treated for longer shelf life, so it won't go bad in the jar, and thus may be irritating to the digestive system. I avoid supplements made with soy because many people with Celiac Disease also react to soy.  Mixed tocopherols, an ingredient in Thornes Vitamin D, may be sourced from soy oil.  Kirkland's has soy on its ingredient list. I avoid things that might contain or be exposed to crustaceans, like Metagenics says on its label.  I have a crustacean/shellfish/fish allergy.  I like Life Extension Bioactive Complete B Complex.  I take additional Thiamine B 1 in the form Benfotiamine which helps the intestines heal, Life Extension MegaBenfotiamine. Thiamine is needed to activate Vitamin D.   Low thiamine can make one feel like they are getting glutened after a meal containing lots of simple carbohydrates like white rice, or processed gluten free foods like cookies and pasta.   It's rare to have a single vitamin deficiency.  The water soluble B Complex vitamins should be supplemented together with additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine and Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) to correct subclinical deficiencies that don't show up on blood tests.  These are subclinical deficiencies within organs and tissues.  Blood is a transportation system.  The body will deplete tissues and organs in order to keep a supply of thiamine in the bloodstream going to the brain and heart.   If you're low in Vitamin D, you may well be low in other fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin K. Have you seen a dietician?
    • Scott Adams
I do not know this, but since they are labelled gluten-free, and are not really a product that could easily be contaminated when making them (there would be not flour in the air of such a facility, for example), I don't really see contamination as something to be concerned about for this type of product.
