JESS! Superb! You must be in our band, The Badass Snow Poodles, and join us on our float in the NY parade. You must be quite a singer if you're managing in musicals, so we could head up the vocals. By musicals, do you mean what I hope you mean? Like, great ol' showtunes (think Showboat, Fiddler on the Roof, Porgy and Bess)? Or something more...modern...and completely foreign to me? What key do you sing in most comfortably? Can you manage to keep strong notes in a moving vehicle with guns projecting gluten-free treats? ....Geez, I'd better get practicing....

well, the old classicals, as mentioned. I plan on trying out for Oliver! this summer, but I only have time to be a bar wench.

I also sing in our local choral; Handel, Dvorak, that type of stuff so if you need a shot of class while shooting goodies, I'm up for it. Not sure about key. I sing alto, and when I'm in practice I have a solid 2-2 1/2 octave range. I'm a little rusty now so I'll need some practice time.

Is the yeti up for catching treats shot off a moving float? Maybe we could add target practice the the vocal practices.

We've got our own version ('Strictly come dancing') on at the moment - :lol: ......how sad - I look forward to Sat nights to watch it....LOVE IT!!!!

My best friend and I were very bored one day and we watched SpiceWorld since my littlest sister loved the Spice Girls. We actually enjoyed the movie and watched it a few times after :ph34r:

Nikki, I must say that when we were in London I ventured into a Tesco's to get some food staples and it was mahhhhvelus. Better than the quickie stop shops we've got here. But two of the three times I stopped in at the big one near Trafalgar Square, at around three in the afternoon, there were several inebriated souls staggering down the aisles. We were amazed...how on earth do they make it to the end of the day? (Perhaps there was absinthe involved. Then I can understand and sympathize completely)... :lol:

um, ahem, I think Ewan is just fine, thank you. ;) don't LURVE him, did like him quite a bit in Big Fish (LOVE that movie!), but, ANY TIME there is a movie in which people just BURST into song as part of the plot.......and it continues to happen, again and again, and there is DANCING involved also..................consider me gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have walked out of many musicals......learned my lesson........just so bored I could SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o Only good ones: Wizard of Oz and Sound of Music (childhood) and Grease, later childhood. :lol:

Reminds me of a great old Elton John song off Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. "Dirty Little Girl" - as good as the singles. I think the sexual content kept it off the airwaves. Or was that "All the young girls love Alice" ?

Ewan is uber hot, I'd watch him in a WESTERN! (gag) :lol:

I do love musicals. But I can't watch Moulin Rouge over and over, because it's just too depressing. It was really good, though. Love, love, love Chicago!

Performing in them would be FUN- sitting through them is another thing. I had to be restrained physically to watch the Sound of Music when I was 18. OK- I kinda liked it :lol:

      I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

      Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon

      I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".

      If you were off gluten for two months that would have been long enough to invalidate the celiac blood antibody testing. Many people make the same mistake. They experiment with the gluten free diet before seeking formal testing. Once you remove gluten from the diet the antibodies stop being produced and those that are already in circulation begin to be removed and often drop below detectable levels. To pursue valid testing for celiac disease you would need to resume gluten consumption equivalent to the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread daily for at least two weeks, preferably longer. These are the most recent guidelines for the "gluten challenge". Without formal testing there is no way to distinguish between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity since their symptoms overlap. However, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the small bowel lining, not true of gluten sensitivity. There is no test available for gluten sensitivity so celiac disease must first be ruled out. By the way, elevated liver enzymes was what led to my celiac diagnosis almost 25 years ago.

      Then it does not seem to me that a gluten-related disorder is at the heart of your problems, unless that is, you have refractory celiac disease. But you did not answer my question about how long you had been eating gluten free before you had the blood antibody test for celiac disease done.
