Mornin' Sillies!

I just read The Rainbow Bridge again this morning, and wept anew...what a beautiful piece. I think I am now looking at my animals a little differently...a little longer, perhaps, with my heart swelling a little more.

On to Silliness!...I'm afraid my silly well is dry at present...anyone? :)

Got this from my sister this morning

Cute

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always getting into trouble and their parents know all about it. If any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys' mother heard that a new preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent the 8 year old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Do you know where God is, son?"

The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.

So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God?!"

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "Where is God?!"

The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time."

"GOD is missing, and they think we did it!"

I, for one, don't think Celiacs should ever have to succumb to a stomach virus <_< --I mean, come on, we get enough of that just trying to live life!!! <_<

Queen Jess--can you proclaim this?

OK

I hereby proclaim that NO SillyYaks (or SillyYeti) will be allowed to indulge in stomach viruses. We already take more than our fair share of toilet time and to take advantage of helpless viruses in order to claim MORE toilet time is just seditious.

And as long as we now have a non-posting advocate:

Tika, I know you have a lot to do with getting settled and all, but I would appreciate it if you would have a word with everyone's pets and inform them that there are to be NO MORE ILL HEALTH ISSUES amongst the furred. We have had enough goo to clean up to last us the rest of the year.

I expect complete compliance by all

Hi Susie,

Good morning after your long winter's nap :D So glad to hear you two girls are feeling better today.

Yeah--Richard....I used to see him reading once in a while, but I think maybe he's left us for good

AND

In honor of the Tikster everyone will have to use the letter 'R' excessively for the rest of the day.

from wikipedia:

Open Original Shared Link

Dog's Letter

The letter R is sometimes referred to as the dog's letter. This phrase has Latin origins, the Latin R was trilled so it sounds like a snarling dog. A good example of a trilling R is the Spanish word for dog: perro. [2]

Well, there you have it! The Queen has spoken--no more icky viruses, errant fluids or pet goo.

I can live with that :)

I even pmed Richard a few weeks ago just to say hi. Never got a response. He has went MIA since my honeymoon. Maybe I scared him when I went to Rochester for the honeymoon....I cannot keep friends :) I scare them away.

Someone as sweet as you? I don't believe that for a minute :D

I'm sure Richard just got very busy with his new job, and got out of the habit of checking in on the board ;)

Can you rumage up Richard?

I was thinking of Richard with the passing of our Stinker, and the FABULOUS avatar he pimped of her flying through the air with a Superman cape billowing behind her. Susie, you should put it up again. I want to see this super girl again!

P.S LOVE Gus's new haircut!!!!!!! (takes years off him! :D ) ......frankly I love the sub-standard look with curly tail!!!!!!

It is quite a ridiculous, and yet adorable tail. Very hilarious when he tries to wag it, as it doesn't swish...too tight a curl. It just quivers and his bum goes--very cute, perhaps, in a little pug, but just pathetic with an eighty-pounder...

Very good...we have a royal edict from our Queen. All Hail!

I was wondering, speaking of our Yeti, if he should perhaps spend a little time at Susie's. I realize that no one will ever take Tika's place, but he would be an enormous furry beast that would be there for a hug, or to take a couple of punches if grieving anger sets in, or just to clean up the house, so Susie can rest. Susie, do you have a hockey bag? Let him take care of it. OH! very important....roll up any carpets if he's coming.:lol:

BTW...Went to bed last night, and spent the hour before I drifted off choking back full-blown laughter, thinking about simultaneous naked Sillyville posting. .. .. ..

...I'd still like to know what our names would look like...

Forget it lady, I'm keepin' my pants on!!!

Ohhhhh my . .. .

:(

oh, sweet friends, I have very sad news.....

My beautiful, noble girl is gone. :(

For Tika:

Strength without insolence

Courage without ferocity

And all the Virtues

Of Man without his vices."

Ohhhh Susie .. . . .. :(

So very sorry for your loss. :(

Nikki - Rainbow Bridge - beautiful and I'm not ashamed to say I got a little misty.

<but don't tell anyone!>

Susie, I was going to request a tale of Tika. :)

You far exceeded my expectations there. ;)Tonkanese Lizard Stomp

And I can just picture you all at Carmel Beach. :)

"Held a job"

The books!

Pearls on the Peninsula! :)

She did have a great life and you two were blessed to have each other. <sniff>

Reading about the loss of Tika and the wonderful life she led brought tears to my eyes. :(:(:(

She's not hurting anymore. She had an extraordinary life and human mother.

Keep those wonderful memories and make more memories with Annie.

Hugs coming your way........I know they aren't the same as the real thing, but with the distance they'll have to do.

I second the notion for the Yeti to pay a very special visit to Susie. I also have gotten her a care package and it contains some great PA wine, and some gluten-free goodies. He can bring it to her doorstep :)

Jestgar Rising Star
great PA wine,

Is this one of those oxymorons?

Yes.  I have had the tmj condition for 40 years. My only help was strictly following celiac and also eliminating soy.  Numerous dental visits and several professionally made bite plates  did very little to help with symptoms
    • trents
Cristiana makes a good point and it's something I've pointed out at different times on the forum. Not all of our ailments as those with celiac disease are necessarily tied to it. Sometimes we need to look outside the celiac box and remember we are mortal humans just like those without celiac disease.

Also suffer badly with gluten and TMJD, cutting out gluten has been a game changer, seems to be micro amounts, much less than 20ppm.  Anyone else have issues with other food stuffs? Soy (tofu) and/or milk maybe causing TMJD flare-ups, any suggestions or ideas? --- I'm beginning to think it maybe crops that are grown or cured with glyphosphate. Oats, wheat, barley, soy, lentils, peas, chickpeas, rice, and buckwheat, almonds, apples, cherries, apricots, grapes, avocados, spinach, and pistachios.

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette
