Hey Janet - - how is your boy doing? haven't heard anything.....and I rarely leave the safety of this wackl thread any more........

He's doing OK. They say this surgery is much worse on adults. I have decided it's because their mothers aren't there to make them eat and drink which is key in healing quickly. He would prefer not to eat at all and I tell him he has to . . . and he does pretty good. Last night was the first night that he (and therefore I) slept through without having to get up for more pain meds.

Moved on to any solids yet??...or still on the ice cream :P

Well, of course I am still on ice cream . . . Oh, you mean my son???

See previous post . . . I forced him to eat some solids starting yesterday and we have progressed today. He wanted to know if he could have some crisps potato chips. I told him he could and that he needed to chew them verrrrrrryyyyy well so they wouldn't scratch. He had two!!! He snubbed his nose at my homemade banana milkshakes . . . I of course ruined them by adding . . . bananas!!!

Quickie update... They've made huge progress on the fire this afternoon, and although it's still burning, it definitely looks like the worst is over!

Glad to hear all is well with DS, Janet...man, I could use a surgical incision in my throat right now, causing high pain when swallowing foodstuffs. That boy doesn't know how lucky he is!! <_<

Okay, there are two pages to go until the Royal Flipover, and of course, I will be out this evening. Please keeps posting to a bare minimum until tomorrow afternoon, when I can sit for an hour or so, waiting....watching...coiled and ready to spring.....

*chuckle* from the Brit

'High Noon' sounds like a terribly American, nay Wild West thing to say.... like 'High Chaparral'...images of dusty tumbleweeds..........the sun beating down.......

I still say  is nearly as needed as :greenguy:.

Alas, we've abandoned the campaign for a full complement of smileys and not-so-smileys. :resignedtononresponsiveleadershipface:

OMG - you have no idea. Yes, we do have the look. when we were at David's on St. Pat's day, w/ about 10 people over, three of them (including Jenn) were pretending, while we were saying goodbye, to collectively vomit in this large paper bag one of them was carrying. Then, this guys says......"oh look! I can vomit from them without even sticking my finger down my throat!!"

And Jenn says....."that's why I call them my Kisseys."

 yes, what can she be doing tonight? during this important reign-changing event?

Yes, the wedding will be outside in the desert, actually, on horseback, at a saloon, bar wenches and saloon doors creaking, tumbleweeds, a big old shootout, spurs, coyotes, all of it.

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!! what in hell do I wear on the plane? You would all DIE if I told you the last time I was on a plane. I"m actually too embarrassed to tell you all. But, it was BEFORE 9/11. :( ( I do love flying - - but never have any money to travel and......being out of my comfort zone has always been difficult for me).

I ALWAYS ALWAYS look really ugly when I travel. There is no getting around this. Hair turns out badly, I get stains on myself, rumpled clothing, ugly outfits.....dear gawd. Poor David.

okay well - - I guess I"ll wear jeans on the plane and.....some dark-ish shirt or sweater....lest I really DO have some spillage accident ( I wear a lot of white and 'tis just not practical for traveling - or, even for living, for that matter :blink )

Oh! If you had any idea......

Painting isolated, desolate towns red; twitchy, undulating fingers inches from a trusty Colt Peacemaker anticipating the imminent life-or-death draw; ponchos, dusters & curiously petite cigars; accurate riflery whilst atop a steed at full gallop . ..

A barely audible creaking noise punctuates the windless silence. Rusty hinges on the saloon half-doors protest quietly as a figure pushes through them. She stands in shadow...an odd curl of flaxen hair is illuminated by the setting sun, as is the smoke furling slowly from a long cigarette held brazenly in her gloved hand. She moves forward a step, and the light now catches the full crimson of her parted lips, shining beads around her long, pale neck.....

It is the alehouse slattern, emerging into the evening light to witness the Russian roulette match that will decide it all....which lover will take claim of her, forever....

Sarah's phire is losing strength. Hmm. I don't think that sounds like what I mean, that is, oh darn, just phorget it. Sarah, I do hope things are looking up phor you and your phamily.

Ptaum, as your second reign nears the end, and we await your successor, do you have any phinal royal thoughts as our only two-term (not consecutive) leader?

And Susie is off to Lost Wages for a wedding! But it isn't hers. I expect that will come in the course of time, but I suppose that Alex and Ryan will get there phirst. Alex, we haven't heard phrom you lately.

Okay, this was just a bunch of random thoughts. A phine phit in the happy phamily we call Sillyville.

It's Phriday Knight, time for a little phun before the weak end really starts. ;)

Just got back from the neighbors where we the moms and kids watched "Enchanted" and the dads watched basketball . . . hmmmmm, doesn't seem quite right.

My daughter has lost another tooth today. The second one this week. Right after we got home, she asks my husband "you want to know why my mouth feels weird" and my son immediately responded with "because it's tired from you blabbering all the time" . . . he's feeling better.

so. y'all remember my rant from a few pages back about the woman I had to work next to who spent most of her time websurfing?

Well there was kind of a big blowout today and my boss asked me what I thought would help my frustration. I said that I was planning to switch desks as soon as our student left at the end of the year. He offered me a different desk that was far less desirable, which I declined. Then I left early (after only 8 hours...). well, I just checked my email and she sent me a note saying she was moving her desk (to the less desirable desk) and I could find her there if I had anything to say to her.

I expect she'll still spend her time surfing, but at least I won't have to be around it.

GAH!!!!   Good one!

Well, they'd gotten the fire pretty much put out on our side, but now it's cresting the top and trying to come back over again. <_< We've got a 20% chance of rain tomorrow though, that would help.

Maybe I'll go do a raindance out on the back deck!!! That would be fun.

I don't get it! He asks what would help your frustration... instead of asking her to curb her surfing! Something about that is bizarre.

Yeah, at least she's far away now, at The Crappy Desk.

Omg, where's Susie?! There's a SPAMMER over in "Other Food Intolerances and Leaky Gut Issues." Sic 'em Susie!!!!!!!

 What kind of lame-ass posts advertisements in a Leaky Gut forum, anyway?

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
    • asaT
plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.
    • asaT
i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
