Susie stole my clandestine word!!!!!!!!

all this talk of poos, and now I have to go.........

Actually, it is probably me that you have been seeing. I logged in invisibly about a week ago for a specific reason and haven't logged out and back in since. I will reveal myself again after this post..

Ahhh...waiting with baited breath. I too used to do this when I had moderator PRIVILEGES (HARUMPH!!!!!!!) :P

And when someone who shall remain usernameless was looking to pick fights with me (cause, you know how mean and abrasive I can be!!!!!!! Evil Boev is in da house!)

Oh harrumph, that's no phun at all. It was one of our own. Um.....can I still pretend it was Skaught?

Is it Skaught? Pscott? Pscaught? Scought? Scawt?

I am not the only person to visit Sillyville this way. There have been times when I have observed an anonymous member and it wasn't me. I have an idea who it is, but I'm not telling. (It's not Scott.)

Uh-oh- just tell us ONE thing- are they nice? Do they want to shut us down? Do they think we're phunny? (OK- that's three things).

And I have a question for the Oracle:

Why does my cat only want to sit on my lap when I'm going potty?

   NO ONE should go there!!!!!!!!

THERE"S SARAH!!!!!!!!! :)

Que Sarah Sarah!!!!!! We missed you!!!!!!!

Well sillies, as predicted, he's asleep on the couch. My Kissey!!!!!!!!! (sorry, sickening  we have a friend who looks at us and starts gagging at us sometimes - says, "oh look, I can throw up without even sticking my finger down my throat....." We're not called the Kissies fer nuthin' , you know ;) )

Seems like I've been spending a lot of time in the supplement aisle... We just found out Brian's cholesterol is really high. And the good cholesterol is really low. Our doc put him on Fish Oil caps and CoQ10... and a low cholesterol diet. He's starting it Monday. (shudder) Gonna be interesting.

Oh dear...... what will this mean? no more meats/grocery store (read: non-cootified) eggs, no cheese, what? Heinous!

Sarah - Jess is a Mad Scientist. A scientist, and she's MAD, barking mad.

No, No, No . . . been there . . . done that . . . made a couple of movies about it. No, Jess is working on a secret formula for decloaking Romulan Starships . . . thus ferreting out, who Opeter has been stalking.

 Our suddenly very Irish Oracle King O'Poeter!

AHHH!!!! MORE CHOW!!!!

This has something to do with the secret member that Peter is clandestinely chasing through various threads...I can just feel it. Perhaps it's a code word...chow.....hmmmm.

Um.........Boev........WHAT clandestine word?

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goign to watch movies tonight. Did I tell you all, the BEST movie I have seen in quite a while, and would put it in my top 10 list of all time - Lars and the Real Girl. <crap - repeating self again>

Peter, why do all of my animals follow me into the bathroom and stand there staring when I pee? I like your explanation about skin contact with the cats....this one's trickier.....

As I'm sure we've all learned, sometimes it's just more satisfying to google oneself.

Hmm. Perhaps you should consider closing the door, you exhibitionist! B)

To Google yourself is interesting, I suppose. A search on your name does not come up with anything that I found interesting. As noted, a search on my name gets the professor in England who studies the history of the vikings. Perhaps that is noteworthy, since my mother's ancestry is a mixture of Swedish and Norwegian and she is from Minnesota, the home of the NFL Vikings. Who knew?

Go searching for my brother Robert's name and you will find plenty.

Ahhh, today was such a GOOD DAY!!! :D I'm gonna bore you guys with details, because I'm in a good mood. ;)

Played outside with the kids this morning and afternoon (Red Light-Green Light, Follow the Leader, Simon Says, etc...) Brian took Lucas to a minor league baseball game this evening. It was through a local reading program, and there were a bazillion kids there, several schools. All the kids got free admission, free bats, and Brian got Luke a baseball cap. All the kids got to do a parade around the field. They had a blast!

I know summer is nearly here, because I've started getting pop-ins-- which I LOVE. My best friend's dad stopped by on his tractor to cut my field at the edge of our property. (Mutually beneficial-- hard for us to get with our mower, and he comes back in a couple days and bales it up for his horses.) I fixed two glasses of tea, because I could see there was another guy with him. When I walked down there, the other guy turned out to be a new neighbor who recently built a house up the road. Ez walked down with me, of course-- tractor.

My brother came by tonight to watch the race with Brian. A good friend of mine came by with her three kids. (This is the one going through the nasty divorce-- very suddenly got a lot nastier this week. :( ) Five kids, ages 1 through 7, running around the house like insane people from about 8:30 to 9:30.

Furthermore, although I've got us on a tight budget for a few more weeks, we're almost completely caught up on bills-- I feel HIGH on relief every time I think of it.

Only a couple more weeks to the school year-- which I am way more excited about than the kids are. :P I am such a child. I want them to have no homework, and just a 1/2 day at school. That would give us more time to PLAY.

Good Sunday Morning, everyone!!

Hey, where's Nikki been? She doesn't have an official holiday weekend happening - - Great Britain NOT recognising The Good Queen Vicki's Birthday, while the politically correct Canada insisting on such - -

Ahhhhhh . . . I thought that might happen . . . I wasn't going for an Irish reference. I was going for the opossum reference. . . hoping that you might make the connection with the recent opossum story. Should have used both words in the same sentence, I guess. Instead of ferreting out perhaps Opeter could have been playin' opossum. . . just needed to swap me varmits!!!

This must be a regional thing with psome of these psilly, psilent, psoundless letters. I have consulted four dictionaries, and three out of four pronounce the leading "o" but don't agree on how. Webster says a long oh, while both the regular and Canadian Oxford indicate a schwa (remember them?). The fourth one, a 1950 edition of the American College Dictionary, gives two pronunciations, the first one being with a schwa, and the second having the "o" silent.

And for those who were wondering, I hail from Moose Jaw, SK. Although I think I should campaign to have it called Middle of nowhere town. What do you all think?

Well, I can attest that Moose Jaw does indeed exist. We passed through it twice on our 1984 road trip to Vancouver. We passed through again in 1994 on our way back from Alaska. We have been to many places far more remote, many of them on that 1994 expedition.

Hi Sillies....been a long time.

Yesterday was my sisters college graduation so we went home for the day. Landen was in tow since we would have not made it home in time for him to be dropped off. So it was our first road trip with a child. After graduation we went to my moms for a graduation dinner party. By the time we got back last night it was late. It rained the whole way home, poured at times too.

So last night I didnt jump on here since I was tired.

Today we are getting rain again and I am catching up on my house work, I have to get laundry done and we need to get to the store too.

So hope all sillies had a good weekend...I will poop in later hopefully.

Have to know how middle of nowhere it truly is. Do you have yetis up there? that will be the determining factor. ;)

I keep the cats in at night, but never really worried about them going outside. There are many neighborhood cats and there's been no problems. This morning I didn't see Sampson so I went out to look. There's piles of gray fur in my neighbors yard and a lot of blood. Fortunately my neighbor came out and stayed with me and helped me search the bushes. We found nothing so we went acros the stree to the wooded area. There's an anmal trail, which we followed. Found another pile of fur. Followed the trail to someone's yard. I went across their yard to pick up the trail again. One tuft of fur caught on a branch. No real trails. We spent about an hour crawling through the woods. Found no more fur. No more trails. Had to have been a coyote. There's nothing else that could take a cat that big with so little evidnece.

I'm so sorry, Jess. and so very glad your neighbor was with you. How's your other boy?

jerseyangel Proficient

Jess, I am so very sorry....warm hug.

Guys, there must be a huge post count comin up or sumphin because our basement flooded today. It was by chance that Mark went down there and caught it before it got any worse. As it is, we had to move tons of wet, soggy boxes and have to cut all the carpet that was down there and get rid of it--it's completely soaked. Had a plumber out already...the sump pump stopped working, and of course we've had some rain the last couple of days.

Got us a new $500 <_< sump pump and one wet mess to clean up.

Be back later :)

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
