Dear Everyone,

Yes, Boomer is a sweetie. Well, except when he decides Mommy needs to get up to cuddle him while she is trying to sleep! Julie is right, he was originally named Peekaboo, but it was changed once it was discovered his little clodhoppers in the back were quite efficient. :) We had two that were litter trained, and they learn very quickly. People often believe that due to them being smaller animals, that rabbits are less intelligent. It infuriates me when vets are snobbish toward rabbits and guinea pigs and view them as less important as dogs and cats.

Dear Judy,

I am so glad your ear is doing better! :) Cauliflower ears are terribly painful. My mother used to get those. Your garden looks divine. What all are you growing this time?

Dear Bev,

OMG! :o I do not like the sound of your symptoms at all. Have you called your doctor? What medications are you on? They can cause this. Certain antibiotics can really make you ill.

Dear Janet and Jess,

I too, feel glitter is mandatory. Pyramids and crystals are important, too. You never know when yuo will need them! They have super powers, you know. Keeping them handy is smart.

Dear Amanda,

That is such a relief to hear your husband is doing better. :) Losing anyone is so difficult! Maybe he will reward you for being patient with him by giving you something nice for your birthday. Happy birthday, and eat some tasty cake with tons of icing for me! Turn your whole mouth blue! :P Well, pink works, too.

Sincerely,

Jin

P.S. Patti's sunglass adventure reminds me of what always happens to me with mine! No matter how careful you try to be, the stupid things fall off onto the floor anyway!

Youse guys- sumfin is wrong with me (vomiting, D, black tarry stools). They took blood and a poopy cow sample yesterday :(

:(:( Bev....... .what in hell? Well, let's just wait and see........ . . .. .sounds like a wicked glutening, and we all know that that goes away with time.....Thinkin' about you....... :)

*ONLY* because of this, and the side-view shot ~1/2 way thru, I noticed some footsies under the characters, but STILL didn't believe people could be doing that so perfectly precise for a few minutes.

Heard someone today say they practiced 8+ hrs/day for 4 mos and last night was the 1st time w/ no errors. :o

Those people apparently practised a full workday for 10 months, and pretty well had it down last week, error-free........unbelievable. Makes me look at my crappy, mundane, simple little workday and think, "yeah, so?"....... .. <_<

I could never believe in meridians and other necessary personal powers in a way that would allow pyramids and crystals to work for me (I'm waaaay to conventional :P ) but hey, if you can make 'em work, more power to ya!

Hi Sillies!

Thanks for all the warm birthday wishes here and in the other thread. You guys made me feel so special :)

Today was a lot of fun, we took a scenic train ride on the Middletown Hummelstown Railroad, I adore trains and this was like my dream. Due to me always working I have not spent a birthday with my family in years, so it was so special to have them around and I still have them until tomorrow, they are spending the night. We went to Wegmans and grabbed dinner. My mom and I are doing a jigsaw puzzle. Dad is almost asleep. John is hanging out too. Tomorrow we are heading to a flea market.

John got me this beautiful Wizard of Oz ornament and a huge Solar Powered Lighthouse. His mom got me this pretty ladybug bracelet. I can't wait to wear it to work. :) Did I tell you it is her birthday too? Yep MIL and I share our birthdays....interesting!

That's all for now!!

Dear Jess,

I absolutely can make the crystals work! :) They are wonderful. Just make sure they are charged in the sun and moonlight. This is essential for them to work properly. Energy is required for them to heal you. Gemstones have numerous properties, such as attracting love and health.

Dear Amanda,

Your birthday sounds like it has been wonderful! Tomorrow will be fun, too. Let us know how the flea market trip goes! The Wizard of Oz ornament and Solar Powered Lighthouse must be beautiful! Post a picture if you can. We would love to see. I bet that ladybug bracelet is nice! How neat that you and your MIL share a birthday!

Sincerely,

Jin

Good Sunday Morning, ALL!

Hey, Nikki's in Turkey! Wonder if she'll get any chance to post here.... . . .mygawd, who does she think she is, heading to another country, rich in scenery, culture and history, and proceeding to remain postless the entire trip? Are we not Nikki's entire life??:rolleyes:

Got the industrial, will-kill-anything bug spray, sunscreen and hat..... . . .

Jack really wants to pack his picture of the Titanic to put by his bunk. Not a pic of us, his family, or his friend, or even his pets, but the Titanic, something for which he has held a life-long fascination.:lol:

Yes, sounds like it's all good, having your parents for a visit, Amanda. I see my mom and dad very regularly (I'm VERY lucky), an hour or two every few days, but I wonder how things would go if we ever all spent an entire weekend together at this point in our lives..... .. . .

Methinks we wouldst drive each other clear 'round the bend..... .. .:lol:

Aged earlobes and apricots......(rubbing chin)......yes, this is true.

Hello My Psillies!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for all the concern which I clearly connived to take away from Janet's pyramidal PT knee improvement! :P Sorry Miss :D I am very glad your knee is better although I suspect that you would have SUPERPOWERS if you attached a crystal pyramid to it

Today, so far so good. They took blood on Fri. and yesterday Kurt had to drop off the uhm...contents of my own toilette (that's what husbands are for- carrying your sh*&t!!!!!!!! :P What a guy). The, uhm, smaple i submitted didn't look so good BUT I do feel better today so maybe a virus, fierce glutening ? They are checking for giardia (had THAT once in Wyoming- ugh!), C Diff, blood, all the good stuff. BUT since I feel better I'll take it as a good sign.

I'm not on any Lyme meds right now (just the usual) so it can't be that but it could have been a flare. Ah, who the HECK knows. I figure they'll call me ASAP if the news is bad.

Just gonna rest and it's Homecoming Weekend in Beverly (how are they gonna host all those people AND set off fireworks in me, I'll never know :P ) so I hope to go to the cookout/fireworks later.

BTW- we are supposed to get some EVIL thunderstorm later. Checked the radar (self-proclaimed weather junkie) and it looks like it's in PA right now. Judy, Patti, Amanda? Batten down the hatches? Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone.

My parents just went home, and we spent the morning at the flea market. I got a lighthouse table and two lighthouses for $5. The table is perfect, no scratches nothing. I love it :)

So we said goodbye and now we are trying to take care of Lucky. He is ill, and has been throwing up everytime he eats...he has not had a solid meal zand kept it down for a few days....we are trying to get a hold of the vet...poor kitty kitty.

jerseyangel Proficient

Yeah Bev--we're getting it now. It's raining pretty good with some thunder thrown in.

Luckily, the lawn is mowed and I got a lot of weeding done. I also spray painted a rusty star I had on the front porch a gloss black. Got a lot done, and as I was sitting on the back porch trying to stop sweating, I was silently musing that maybe I shoulda pushed for a nice luxury condominium when we moved last year.:P

But then as I watched Mark, looking not unlike Oliver Wendel Douglas, on his tractor/mower--I knew he never woulda gone for it

Don't have the TV on, but it looks like the worst is over, for now anyway. They say these storms can pop up anytime between now and tomorrow morning. It wasn't bad enough here to lose power--no high winds or hail--just rain and thunder.

Be careful down there--sounds like you're really getting hit. :)

Well, NO TEARS when we dropped the Ripper off, thank gawd. He gave me one of his huge, marvelous hugs, I smelled his boyish, messy hair, and he trotted off to his cabin with Eugene, a young kid he had just met who, like him, doesn't know anyone else there.

This is a co-ed camp, so he may end up hanging around the girls more - - he tends to get on better with them than the boys, because, to quote him directly, "Girls are usually a lot more sensible and kind. Boys my age can be crazy and babyish".

Yeah, well, Jack....dunno how much that's gonna change in your life........:ph34r:

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
