Make sure to come back and give us a Ballcock Report, Amanda.. .....

......and don't forget to get a look at his thumbs!

Susie's place has become a final resting place for critters......first mice, now a bird......something is luring them to this spot, where they feel compelled to end their lives!

Were you finding dead bugs in your house before this?

What next?...Will this continue?......Will the next one's be progressively larger?......say, perhaps a bunnie?<<GASP>>>.....I didn't mean that! :o

What does it mean????

When did her house start to be a catalyst for strange phenomenon?.....Weezee's uncharacteristic trash fetish?.....or was there something before that?

So many questions to ponder. <_< ..................hmmmmm.........maybe Amanda's guy in the trunk was looking for Susie's house......

Leaving work early so as not to miss a word (and get an early start on the whine wine...)

Patti!!!! Sounds like you had a great appt, your Dr sounds like she's on top of everything, definitely a keeper! I'm so happy to hear you are hopeful :D

btw, I did watch DSM. Thought it was fabulous!! I still love the son who is the ex-minister the best, he's so sarcastic and heartless, and does everything with a straight face, but it's SO hee-larious to me!!!

Where be Peter, and Lisa B, and Laura??

I'm here, and thankful for Patti's excellent doctor!!!!!! You can't put a price on that.

OMG Amanda this hosptial of yours

Yes- some things I would not recommend at our hospital but other departments are wonderful, Labor and Delivery (my friends have had children all raved) my family dr is awesome, The Reproductive Endo clinic where you seek fertility help--I have first hand experience there....I am not sure how many of you all know this since I didn't tell many but we are all family now, I donated my eggs twice, to 2 infertile couples hoping to have children. Both knew about the celiac and were cool with it too. Cancer care is good here and the Cardiovascular dept is amazing!

Patti- glad to hear all went well!!!! Its nice to be heard and walk away with the feeling that someone listened.

Landen is home this evening, just was down to see him. Jen is ok- we had a long talk and she was undrstanding. The reason I got upset with her is Becky has been very threatening since going home to Wyoming and its been scary for Jen and all, yesterday more Becky drama ensued so I worried about that.

Why, yes, I am watchng the debate tonight....The Canadian Federal Election debate, of course. :) There are five parties in the running, three big ones and two smaller, fringe groups...we have a Conservative minority right now (roughly equivalent to your Republicans), but they could be gunning for a majority. This is a big evening, lots riding on it. You guys should tune in. .. . .you may be surprised to see how impolite we Canucks can be when we're grasping fer votes. . . .....

You ARE the Critter Whisperer......that is why they came......they tried desparately to tell you sumphin........but you weren't listening......you had not yet become aware of your gift.

And so.....alas.....they died......the stress was more than they could bear.

They did try to convey their message to Weezer, but she misunderstood. She thought they said "You will find true happiness when you eat beans from the garbage can"

"The actual message was......"You will find true happiness when you meet the man of your dreams in Canada."

Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.

I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.

Are Bobresmill gluten free oats ok for sensitive celiacs?

thank you both for the insights. i agree, im going to back off on dairy and try sucraid. thanks for the tip about protein powder, i will look for whey protein powder/drinks!   i don’t understand why my doctor refused to order it either. so i’ve decided i’m not going to her again, and i’m going to get a second opinion with a GI recommended to me by someone with celiac. unfortunately my first appointment isn’t until February 17th. do you think i should go gluten free now or wait until after i meet with the new doctor? i’m torn about what i should do, i dont know if she is going to want to repeat the endoscopy, and i know ill have to be eating gluten to have a positive biopsy. i could always do the gluten challenge on the other hand if she does want to repeat the biopsy.    thanks again, i appreciate the support here. i’ve learned a lot from these boards. i dont know anyone in real life with celiac.

Let me suggest an adjustment to your terminology. "Celiac disease" and "gluten intolerance" are the same. The other gluten disorder you refer to is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which is often referred to as being "gluten sensitive". Having said that, the reality is there is still much inconsistency in how people use these terms. Since celiac disease does damage to the small bowel lining it often results in nutritional deficiencies such as anemia. NCGS does not damage the small bowel lining so your history of anemia may suggest you have celiac disease as opposed to NCGS. But either way, a gluten-free diet is in order. NCGS can cause bodily damage in other ways, particularly to neurological systems.
