Hello everybody! You've probably sensed me lurking around in the background. It wasn't INTENTIONAL Lurking! Honest! I didn't mean to lurk! Started out trying to find out what this Sam Hill thing was all about.....even started at the beginning ooooohhhhh! After 50 pages started jumping around until I got really tired. <_< . I'm still jumping around, but I figured after slinking around and peeking from the edges I ought to let you know right up front....YOU'RE BEING WATCHED! Now...I mean no harm, but like the little kid watching from the sidelines...I really want to play!

Thanks to all of you for the laughs these last few days. I really needed them. I love the little community that you've built up....will there be a community pool and park in the works? I expect to be peeking in now and again. I promise to make myself known from now on, so you won't feel like someone is reading over your shoulder. As Andy Rooney would say....."don't you just hate that?"

He's been using the crutch tip as dentive device. Had a big argument w/ Mrs Chow and she slapped him upside d'head, knocking his rubber 'dentures' out, causing them to fly through the air and land in the ho' tub. Previously was cinder block colored (matching his teeth ( :blink: )) but became discolored when exposed to the chemicals (or pre-teens) in the water.

EXCELLENT theory Jess!!!!!

Don't know much about building pools....but I did build a pond last year. Great for the birdies! Y'all are welcome to sit and sip and watch birds.....maybe when it gets warm again. I'm cold except in the warmest of temps!

Thanks for the welcome. Am looking forward to reading more. Right now I better get my butt busy doing something besides playing here. Time somehow gets caught up in the slipstream and is gone before I even know it's going! Could make for a wild ride if I could figure out how to grab hold :lol: (wheeeeee). Till later.......Theresa

Hello everybody! You've probably sensed me lurking around in the background.

Flourgirl!! Welcome back! You are Theresa, which means you are a harvester. Very good for us.....forget the pool - -could we get you to plot out and design a large, peaceful, hanging garden for us to loll about in and drink our absinthe? I think your name's on this one. . .. . ..

;):lol:

Sillyville=a weenal colony

YES!! Fantastic. I will design our crests. . . . ..... :huh::lol:

But, curiously, no adolescents...

Yeah.... .. . . where did our closest-to-adolescent, Erica, go?

'Tis what we refer to 'round here as The Vortex. . . . ....it surrounds and engulfs all of us regularly. Just plan to be late for things, not get half the items checked off on your daily "to do" list. . . . ...perhaps get fired....... <_<

My psillies cheer me when it seems nothing else can- can you believe we have over 1500 PAGES of pure laughter and support. All of us have been through a LOT yet we go on, laughing and cheering one another. It's pretty special :wub: :wub: :wub:

Oh Julie- Put the CARAMEL corn clusters down and walk away slowly with your hands up :P I saw them last night in Target and made myself look the other way :ph34r: :ph34r:

I really want margaritas in en's tub with Canadian snow slowly whirling down!!!

Bev, I loved what you said and I so agree. SO VERY SPECIAL, and all of you make this place what it is :wub:

You should not have walked the other way!! I am telling you it is to die for!! Especially the Apple Cinnamon Pecan, it transports you to a cozy mountain lodge with an open fire all snuggled up on the couch sipping hot apple cider...and interestingly enough you can see through the windows Canadian snow slowly whirling down :D

On the odd occasion, I find myself sitting alone in the ho' tub at night, and I'll suddenly picture all me Psillies sitting on the jetted seat rests all around me. It's a very tight squeeze, but SO wunnerful.. . . . .

Oh Em, this made me larff!!!

sillies - I have gone to the store, and I have Nuggets. :ph34r: somehow I am going to have to blame Jewel-lee. :lol:

GUILTY!!!! :D

And yes, where is Erica?!

Loved yer snowflakes Sooze, BEAUTIFUL!!!

Lisa, that is genius to put periods between and the shapes and then color them white!!

Actually, Sooooze.... .. those snowflakes are astonishing in their accuracy. Did you not know that Canadian snow falls just like that? Straight down, in rows.

We're a conservative, lacadasical place. . . . ..... :rolleyes:

I say bring back the All Things Weenis Symposium!!!!!

TOM!!!! Hee hee, I made a typo....but south of the border arts are so much funnier!!

Weenis Symposium!!

You use conditioner as well as shampoo???

.........Frizz Ease is what I use, never put it near your roots (greasy mess!!)

Maybe some straighteners would smooth things out for yer????

...and your right about the hair coloUr, as you got older you should ALWAYS go lighter as darker can make your skin look sallow :o

The expert has spoken!!

I would have to agree on the straightening products, or what I have seen categorized here as "smoothing" products. To this day I am stilll searching for the perfect product for me own hair (and I suspect I will forever be looking for it :lol: ) so I don't have any specific brand I can recommend Sooze.....I am currently testing out a smoothing serum by Biolage, but all the brands seem to have a smoothing line.

And Nikki is right, these serums and such you must use sparingly and with caution. They are oils so you could have a greasy mess on yer hands if you over use.

OMG!! Jewel- li's Caramel clusters sound DIVINE!!!!!!!!!! :P (GADS!, I may be ill, but I ain't lost me appetite!)

Divine indeed, I know what ya mean about the appetite. I have never been one to lose my appetitie at any time, or forget to eat :lol:

psssst, what is Tiger Pig?!

Believe me...it will be complete with a coat of arms and a clan motto.

Hmmmmm. .. . ....Weenal Colony motto.. . . .....

Well, my Scottish family maternal connection is the Leslie clan (we've teamed up with Nikki at some point for some boisterous marauding).....our tartan is a lovely hunter green and navy/black, and our motto is "Grip Fast".

Um.......that may not work so well for the Weenal Colony. . . ... :lol:

I did read back a ways (started with the first 50 pages before I started jumping around). Wondered what you'd come up with! Thanks, I'm starting to feel more at home already!

Patti, I hope your cold passes quickly. We've had lots of sneezing here but it doesn't seem to develope into anything. Maybe we're too miserable already......inspiring great fear into the little germies until they run screaming into the night! :lol:

:lol::lol:

Hmmmm... .. .what, indeed, is a Weenal Colony.. . . . .

((sigh)))... .....Tareighsah.... . ...if ya hafta ask, you'll never know. :huh::lol:

Weenal is a posited adjective form of Weenis, Soooozie's sudden, hilarious term for "penis" (if you have any interest in learning the ASL signage for this word, we have this available in our exhaustive thread, as well - - go back about 300 pages).

Since we, as an exclusive group here in The Pville, have been known to digress fairly regularly into such subject matter, Patti brilliantly referred to us a Weenal Colony.

Who is our Commanding Officer? General? Colonel? I should think it'd best be Ptaoughmghmn or POeter, since they actually own weenii. . . . ...

      I agree, there can be contamination at many points--milling is another possible source of contamination for any flours.

      Keep in mind that with manufactured food products, "gluten free" doesn't equate to no gluten. Things that are naturally gluten free can be cross-contaminated with gluten in the field, in shipping and in processing. In the U.S. companies can use the gluten free label as long as the product doesn't exceed 20ppm of gluten. That amount still may cause a reaction in some people.

      Dd10 was tested for celiac four years ago bc two siblings were dx’d (positive labs and biopsies). Her results at the time were positive ema  and ttg (7x the UL), but a negative biopsy. We checked again three months later and her ttg was still positive (4x the UL), but ema and biopsy were negative. Doc said it was “potential celiac” and to keep eating gluten, but we were concerned about harming her growth and development while young and had her go gluten-free because we felt the labs and ema in particular were very suggestive of early celiac, despite the negative biopsies. She also had stomach aches and lethargy when eating it. We just felt it’d be better to be safe than sorry. Now, four years later, she doesn’t want to be gluten-free if she doesn’t “have to be,” so underwent a 12 week gluten challenge. She had labs done before starting and all looked great (celiac panel all negative, as expected.) Surprisingly, she experienced no noticeable symptoms when she began eating gluten again, which we felt was a positive sign. However, 12 weeks in, her labs are positive again (ttg 4x the UL and ema positive again as well). Doc says that since she feels fine and her previous two biopsies showed nothing, she can just keep eating gluten and we could maybe biopsy again in two years. I was looking up the ema test and the probability of having not just one but two false positives, and it seems ridiculously low.  Any advice? Would you biopsy again? She’s old enough at this point that I really feel I need her buy-in to keep her gluten-free, and she feels that if the doc says it’s fine, then that’s the final word — which makes me inclined to biopsy again and hope that it actually shows damage this time (not because I want her to have celiac like her sisters, but because I kind of think she already does have it, and seeing the damage now would save her more severe damage in the long run that would come from just continuing to eat gluten for a few more years before testing again.)  Our doc is great - we really like him. But we are very confused and want to protect her. One of her older sibs stopped growing and has lots of teeth problems and all that jazz from not catching the celiac disease sooner, and we don’t want to get to that point with the younger sis. fwiw- she doesn’t mind the biopsy at all. It’s at a children’s hospital and she thinks it’s kind of fun. So it’s not like that would stress her out or anything.

      Thanks for the replies. I already use a gluten-free brand of buckwheat flakes I occasionally get itchy bumps. I'm still reviewing all my food products. I occasionally eat prepackaged gluten-free crackers and cookies, so I'll stop using those. I use buckwheat flakes and Doves Farm flour as a base for baking. Would you recommend eliminating those as well? It's a constant search.

      Gluten free food is not fortified with vitamins and minerals as regular food is.  Vitamin deficiencies are common especially in recently diagnosed persons,  Get a 25(OH)Vitamin D blood test. And work on raising it.  The safe upper blood level is around 200 nmol/L.    "Low serum levels of 25(OH)D have been associated with increased risk of autoimmune disease onset and/or high disease activity. The role of vitamin D in autoimmune diseases   🏋️‍♂️Good job!   I find the commercial milk will give me mild stomach burn at night, while pasture/grassfed only milk does not bother me at all.  While you are healing, listen to your body.  If it hurts to eat something, eat something else.  You may be able to eat it later, or maybe it is just not good for you.  Lower your Omega 6 to 3 ratio of what you eat.  Most omega 6 fatty acids are inflammation causing.    The standard american diet omega 6:3 ratio is estimated at upward of 14:1.  Thats why fish oil works
