GAAH!!!!!.....EMOTIBUSTED!

But what about Lisa's hubby??? Lisa, does yer main squeeze celebrate barfdays??

Are we talking about puke, still? If your talking about BIRFdays.........only the ones he remembers...........seriously can't ever remember him barfing

Safety Dance!!

I remember this!

I must confess that lately it's become a serious issue with me and dancing.........I have a STRONG urge to dance every time I hear good music.....no matter where I am. The morning announcements at school always begin with an intro of salsa music.........it's killing me!

I do occassionally break loose and then the kids are like this....

:huh::huh::unsure::blink::ph34r::huh::rolleyes:

....do you suppose they had festering codpieces??? ........ looked like the right era

YES!! looks rather Medieval....must watch it again, see if I can spy under the band members' trousers.. . . . ..

They have festering codpieces under their pants???? :o

  oh well .. . .game over I guess - I haven't even heard of but 2 of those!!

HA!!!!.....I win! :D

2. Ignoranus (n.): A person who's both stupid and an a$$hole.

8. Sarchasm (n.): The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the Person who

doesn't get it.

11. Karmageddon (n.): It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really

bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a

serious bummer.

5. Willy-nilly, adj. Impotent.

13. Pokemon, n. A Rastafarian proctologist.

:lol: Me favorites!.......especially Karmageddon! I have another list of these from maybe last year.........did I get them from you, Jess?

What about cows and pigs?? I don't ever see them blowing chow . . . OK maybe cows vomit . . . just the little bit into their mouths, right?? . . . isn't that what "chewing their cud" is??

Exactamundo!

Funny you should bring up cows chewing their cud.....

Cows and rabbits are similar in that they both have a fermentation chamber with microorganisms that digest otherwise indigestible plant material and convert it to nutrients. Some of the rabbit microorganisms are different from those in cows, but many of them are the same or similar (McBee 1971). Both cows and rabbits also have a mechanism to pass the contents of their fermentation chamber back to the mouth and then on through the digestive tract.

The difference, though, is that cows cud is undigested stomach material........rabbits cud has already become poop!

Eeeewwwwww, Bunnnnieeeeee!!! :o

My deaf student just got a cat yesterday........it slept on her head last night

Two days ago...when they went to look at it.....it was 4 yrs old. Today it is 7 months  She doesn't always hear information correctly, I think, so don't know which is right. Her name is Ella. This is good, because she wanted to call her Gabriella, which when she says it, sounds like 'Gal-li-lel-la' :P

hence my great amusement with it.

Suezeigh . . . very sad to visit the shelters :( but you are right to wait for a connection . . . it is (for people like us) a life-long committment!!! I think if you get a kitty that is black then it should have Angus in it's name . . . Angus Jett or Mrs. Angus Jenkins.

 Capitol idea!!!!!!

And if its brown, it should be named Samantha Or, as I like to call her, puppy girl.

You'll find just the right one, Susie.

 would it be weird to call my cat Puppy Girl?

Sophie wants to do her high school volunteer hours at the Humane Society....she wants me to do some dog-walking shifts with her. I just dunno if I can handle it, honestly. . . . . . .. :(

would it be weird to call my cat Puppy Girl?

Nothing wrong with that. I had a cat named Ivan, whom I adored. I got him when he was only 4 weeks old from a shelter. He truly was my puppy cat. Followed me everywhere....helped in the gardens, liked to smell the flowers :) , rode in the wheelbarrow, loved to ride in the car (stretched across my shoulders so he could look out the window), climbed ladders to help me work on the roof, basically did everything with me at home. He was a kitteh who chose me.....what a godsend he was for me. Lived to be 19, and will always have a place in my heart.

This reminds of a story I used to love when I was little. Can't remember the point of the story, but it was called Puppycat.

Hey Patti...Judy, too......sorry you are feeling a bit out of it all. You'll find your psilly.....probably wherever it was that you had it last. Then again....it's one of those things that moves about by itself when you misplace it, but I don't think that psillies can travel very far on their own power...can they? Geez....I hope not, anyway.

We will find him/her when kitten season starts, in spring. Maybe even a bottle-fed kitteh - Weez saw one and was licking and lickign and LICKING it to death, frantic to mother it - she loved it

Neither of them were anemic 6 months after the Celiac diagnosis. His other vitamin levels (d, B12) were never low. My daughters levels were normal after the first 6 months. Is the thiamine test just called thiamine?
    • knitty kitty
Yes, I do think they need a Thiamine supplement at least. Especially since they eat red meat only occasionally. Most fruits and vegetables are not good sources of Thiamine.  Legumes (beans) do contain thiamine.  Fruits and veggies do have some of the other B vitamins, but thiamine B 1 and  Cobalamine B12 are mostly found in meats.  Meat, especially organ meats like liver, are the best sources of Thiamine, B12, and the six other B vitamins and important minerals like iron.   Thiamine has antibacterial and antiviral properties.  Thiamine is important to our immune systems.  We need more thiamine when we're physically ill or injured, when we're under stress emotionally, and when we exercise, especially outside in hot weather.  We need thiamine and other B vitamins like Niacin B 3 to keep our gastrointestinal tract healthy.  We can't store thiamine for very long.  We can get low in thiamine within three days.  Symptoms can appear suddenly when a high carbohydrate diet is consumed.  (Rice and beans are high in carbohydrates.)  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so symptoms can wax and wane depending on what one eats.  The earliest symptoms like fatigue and anxiety are easily contributed to other things or life events and dismissed.   Correcting nutritional deficiencies needs to be done quickly, especially in children, so their growth isn't stunted.  Nutritional deficiencies can affect intelligence.  Vitamin D deficiency can cause short stature and poor bone formation.   Is your son taking anything for the anemia?  Is the anemia caused by B12 or iron deficiency?
    • lizzie42
Thank you! That's helpful. My kids eat very little processed food. Tons of fruit, vegetables, cheese, eggs and occasional red meat. We do a lot of rice and bean bowls, stir fry, etc.  Do you think with all the fruits and vegetables they need a vitamin supplement? I feel like their diet is pretty healthy and balanced with very limited processed food. The only processed food they eat regularly is a bowl of Cheerios here and there.  Could shaking legs be a symptom of just a one-time gluten exposure? I guess there's no way to know for sure if they're getting absolutely zero exposure because they do go to school a couple times a week. We do homeschool but my son does a shared school 2x a week and my daughter does a morning Pre-K 3 x a week.  At home our entire house is strictly gluten free and it is extremely rare for us to eat out. If we eat at someone else's house I usually just bring their food. When we have play dates we bring all the snacks, etc. I try to be really careful since they're still growing. They also, of course, catch kids viruses all the time so I  want to make sure I know whether they're just sick or they've had gluten. It can be pretty confusing when they're pretty young to even be explaining their symptoms!
    • Scott Adams
That is interesting, and it's the first time I heard about the umbilical cord beings used for that test. Thanks for sharing!
    • knitty kitty
@lizzie42, You're being a good mom, seeking answers for your son.  Cheers! Subclinical thiamine deficiency commonly occurs with anemia.  An outright Thiamine deficiency can be precipitated by the consumption of a high carbohydrate meal.   Symptoms of Thiamine deficiency include feeling shakey or wobbly in the legs, muscle weakness or cramps, as well as aggression and irritability, confusion, mood swings and behavior changes.  Thiamine is essential to the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine which keep us calm and rational.   @Jsingh, histamine intolerance is also a symptom of Thiamine deficiency.  Thiamine is needed to prevent mast cells from releasing histamine at the slightest provocation as is seen in histamine intolerance.  Thiamine and the other B vitamins and Vitamin C are needed to clear histamine from the body.  Without sufficient thiamine and other B vitamins to clear it, the histamine builds up.  High histamine levels can change behavior, too.  High histamine levels are found in the brains of patients with schizophrenia.  Thiamine deficiency can also cause extreme hunger or conversely anorexia.   High carbohydrate meals can precipitate thiamine deficiency because additional thiamine is required to process carbohydrates for the body to use as fuel.  The more carbohydrates one eats daily, the more one needs additional thiamine above the RDA.  Thiamine is water soluble, safe and nontoxic even in high doses. Keep in mind that gluten-free processed foods like cookies and such are not required to be fortified and enriched with vitamins and minerals like their gluten containing counterparts are.  Limit processed gluten-free foods.  They are often full of empty calories and unhealthy saturated fats and additives, and are high in histamine or histamine release triggers.  It's time you bought your own vitamins to supplement what is not being absorbed due to malabsorption of Celiac disease.  Benfotiamine is a form of Thiamine that has been shown to improve intestinal health as well as brain function. Do talk to your doctors and dieticians about supplementing with the essential vitamins and minerals while your children are growing up gluten free.  Serve nutritionally dense foods.  Meats and liver are great sources of B vitamins and minerals. Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your progress!
