Here, you can only buy beer (by the case only) at a "beer store". If you want a 6-pack, you have to go to a bar or hotel and purchase it there.

Wine and other liquors are only found at the Wine and Spirits stores. Nothing at grocery stores.

PA really needs to start to live in the modern times and start selling the beer in the grocery store!

We can in Indiana . . . just not on Sundays . . . or election day (wouldn't want impaired judgement in the voting booth :P )

Well, it depends. Here in Ontario, if you work in a provincially regulated non-union workplace, then the third Monday in February is Family Day. It was first observed in 2008. Federally regulated workplaces are not covered by the legislation, but some companies, such as banks, close. Many unionized workers do not get it off, because the collective agreement specifies what days are holidays, and most have not been renegotiated. Talk about confusion. We close the store.

If I recall correctly, California sells alcoholic beverages in grocery and convenience stores 24x7. So does Illinois, if my memory is correct. Such civilized places.

Hmmmm....tabbies......Bryce is our big male orange tabby...a 20-pounder. Big, lazy and in love with everybody. He deeply respects and fears Tess, our little 7-pound mix. Very hilarious - - I've seen her give him regular hell, this li'l thing loudly reading the riot act before the big, cowering boy . . . .. . . :lol:

I've been watching GMA and other coverage and I realized that I feel like this is the first president who is part of the culture he's been elected to serve. He uses a Blackberry, he emails, his wife dances with her daughters on camera.

Why did we ever have people running the country that didn't have an understanding of how the country ran?

Hehe the 2 states I've resided the longest!!

CA sells everywhere but not while bars can't serve betw 2am-6am.

IL same but stopping at 3am, last I knew, in '87.

Better get to the cashier by 1:59!!!!

My phirst (adopted) cat was a siamese.He belonged to a disinterested neighboUr...spent most of his time in me Mum's house.

I waited in ALL pharking day for the boiler man (all day callout 8-6) who DID NOT turn up.....I even phoned the office this aft to check he was coming :rolleyes:

But HEY!... I'm a stay at home Mum....got ABSOLUTELY nothing else to do with me time have I?????? :angry::rolleyes:

      @Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

      Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

      Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

      Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.
