I missed you all and often thought about you down there! especially because EVERY store on the main street sold underwear that said " I (heart) love to fart" and a t-shirt that said "I'm not drunk- I'm just naturally friendly, silly and clumsy"

Let's see- food excellent! Water was 70 degrees but only one real beach day. Got down to 47 Wednesday night- brrr!!!!!!!!!!! Went on a glass bottom boat tour, saw Hemingways' House, went to the Butterfly Conservatory, rented mopeds, snorkeled (in a wetsuit). Relaxed. I ate like a pig- seafood twice a day every day!

Had a moped accident  The main street where all the bars and shops are is called Duval. Somewhere in front of a gazillion people I started my moped and confused accelerate with brake :blink: flew across the street, hit the curb, bike fell down, I skidded about 10 feet on my left side but walked away with a scarped knee and bruises because I was wearing a helmet, pants, day hikers because it was so cold. When the officer (very handsome if I remember correctly) asked me if I had been drinking I said, "Unfortunately, no!"

In the observatory, it's good luck if a butterfly lands on you. Not only did a beautiful blue morpho butterfly LAND on my shoulder- he took a poop! The blue butterfly of happiness pooped on me

We had a great time. I am so tired! Tan (lay out even if I had to do it in sweats and socks!)

No pics yet- I took my slow camera (film!) but Kurt got some so I'll get em up.

am soooooooo anxious and want my Peanut home. :( I just called, they said he's fine but whether his personality has changed remains to be seen. I told a little lie  and said I had an appt this afternoon but my mum would be here with him (that part not a lie, she insists on coming over) and wanted to pick him up before.

They are NOT happy with me....they want to keep him all day, WHAT IN HELL FOR? what are they going to do? he's not seizing any more.....

He should be home, with us, and not in a cage. :( He's been through enough.......

Jess.......um........I need some scientist lecturing, pleez

I don't know anything about seizures, keep this in mind.

I can't imagine what they're looking for. He has to eat and drink and pee and poop, but it could be a while before that happens. When you bring him home, confine him to one room, low light, somewhere soft to nap. Keep him away from anything that could hurt him, and block anywhere that he could get wedged. Treat him like he's still drugged and can't take care of himself.

He will be held in my arms like the tiniest, tenderest, wee babe, or snuggled on the couch, the bed, wherever he wants. shades drawn, very quiet here. He will be served white albacore tuna

I have already vacuumed so that that calamity wouldn't be going on. He is eating and drinking over there. Everything is so nice and clean for him. I have a rather loud and raucous friend (who LOVES cats) coming over tonight for dinner, may re-think that

BEV GOT BUTTERFLY POOPED!! This absolutely MUST be a lucky omen. . . . .

I had a dear friend say to me last night "well WHY did you do that? didn't you think about what you were doing?" - - I mean PHARQUE, obviously I have deep regret and was NOT being careful - - when everyone else had been so supportive and sympathetic. I sort of yelled at her

OMG. . . . . Haven't we ALL done something like this, due to a fixed income, and being next to certain that all would be okay? Lord, I have, once or twice, put my own prescription eye drops into my animals' eyes to avoid the heinous expense of veteranairy conjunctivitis drops. Gawd, now I will be always be thinking twice, and perhaps that is a good thing. . . . . . . .

I'm so glad Peanut is still with us.

Jess is right, all four of those functions have to be occurring for him to be considered out of danger.

Many medications are not safe for certain species, and cats are among the most sensitive.

We sell most products without batting an eye. We generally assume that the customer who picks up what she wants and brings it to the counter knows what she is buying. Not so with flea products. We *always* confirm with the customer that the animal on which they intend to use the product is the correct one. With dogs, there are even some where the weight of the dog is important.

Unfortunately, some people think that a "stronger" flea product will work faster. It won't and could seriously harm or kill their pet.

Also be aware that itching is often not due to fleas.

To test for fleas, brush or comb your pet over a hard surface, such as a tile floor. See if tiny, dark specks come out. If so, moisten them. If there is a flea problem, the specks will turn red as a result of being moistened, indicating that they are flea droppings. No specks, or specks that do not turn red when moistened, suggest that the itching problem is due to another source.

Several posts while I was writing this. Must go catch up.

I am SOOOOO glad you discuss this with your customers Poeter......wish every store did.

I looked at the package today of that evil flea stuff. RIGHT ON THE FRONT, not in large letters but in letters I can certainly read wtih my glasses on, it says

DO NOT USE ON CATS

:( :( :(

If only I'd paid attention....not been in a hurry......heeded the warnings in my head....if only. :(

Psuessly.....you did something with all good intentions. It's over (almost, anyway). Really, it does no good to beat yourself up over it. It's over and done....it's been rectified....you meant no harm....let it go. For your own sake, and that of Peanut-kitteh :wub: (one for each of you).

Bev-really is home from her adventures!!! Sounds like a blast....with minimal damage. Nice to have the chance to get away and have some phun.

Pieter....a good man for advice for many and assorted reasons. :)

Giannet...you survived the invasion, and getting flattened into 2 dimensions. Did you leave any black holes behind? Hope your mood is improved now that it's over.

Niknik.....hower yu doin'? Just because you're paranoid, does NOT mean that they are not out to get you!....(Sawwy....bad phun pun)

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
    • asaT
plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.
    • asaT
i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
