Don't EVEN git me started!!!! There's 1 freakin white tile in the middle of the new-still unfinished-bathroom that sticks up a good 1/4 inch above the rest. I'm clutzy enough to trip over that sucker daily!

 We are in the same boat...I just had a cup o'tea and a Lara Bar. Lunch....

I've been at work since 0630. All I've had is a cup o coffee and an Odwalla bar <_< I WANT ICE CREAM!!!!!

Friends of ours in Jersey had their kitchen floor tiled "professionally", and within a year some of the tiles cracked because the contractor didn't level the floor correctly. They had to have it all redone.

...Al & me watching 'Dr Who' (he is OBSESSED!!...t'is the highlight of his week)

Haven't seen that show in years. My father stills watches it. When my brother got married about 20 years ago, his wife made him a coat like the Dr Who at that time wore as his wedding present.

Bought a tile cutter. Plan to do my bathroom too. And maybe my able-bodied-assistant's kitchen, if we can talk her mom into it. She wanted the humongoid $160 cutter but the sales person talked her out of it.

Love Purely Decadent ice cream. Haven't had it in a whale while (thought this was funny, so I left it in, but still had to edit....just a tad OCD about things like that). I wonder if agave would give me the same problems as sugar?

Lovely day, today. Hubby and I went garage-saleing on his motorcycle :D

We had to use our excess bathroom tiles to weight down the bottom of Emileigh's "kitty condo"; this dainty miss weighs in at over 16 lbs and the top floor of the condo is cantilevered  (or at least it used to be until we put a supporting member underneath) Well, Maine Coons are BIG kitties:D

This was a gluten-free day at our house! M had to do a family project for scouts so he and I made 2 kinds of gluten-free pizza crusts. We hadn't tried to yet. We made Chebe and gluten-free Pantry. Both came out good. We have ways to improve them next time. We just had the ice cream - Turtle Tracks and PB chocolate. Very yummy. Boys didn't like the turtle tracks because it tasted coconutty. Hub really liked the TT because it tasted coconutty. Thanks for the recomendation.

Well, apparently my fears on that front were completely unfounded. I guess the days I was interviewing and stuff people were wearing their dull clothes, because I haven't got anything remotely as flashy as what some of those girls are wearing. But the new job is really great. They really do train you and pay attention to what you're doing, it's awesome. I'm tired of places that don't actually take the time to train you what to do.

Gah! Must get on Phacebook to scope out the details, but what TERRIFIC news about Nathan, Leeeese! :D What an amazing story he has to tell - - well, your entire family's story, really - - this jaw-dropping journey through the last couple o' years.. .. . .... ..I'm telling you, it's a book!

Phantastic!!!! I wish I had his energy! He's been mountain biking, hiking, planting trees, installing gutters, building a pergola, putting in a vegetable garden, finalizing his research, writing papers.......it wears me out just thinking about it!

Since he finished his rounds of chemo in November, he has had two maintenance doses. The first made him pretty nauseous, but this last one was fine. His doc had changed his ant-nausea meds. The doc is giving him these doses occassionally as a safe-guard. His was such an unusual case, they don't know what to expect. You will very likely see his case in the medical journals one day. Anywho....this chemo does not keep him from getting out and doing things. :D

Quick poop in cause I HAD to share this with you all. It's ridiculously awesome (and VERY cute!).

Since 2008, two French hikers have chronicled their trek from Miami, FL to the tip of South America, a journey of 15,000km (about 9,320 miles) through 13 countries.

But what elevates this hike down a hemisphere straight into the Cuteosphere is the third member of the team: A stray kitten who joined them in Louisiana.

However, the shoes are great! After my 12 hell yesterday, I was down a pound! Down 4, 8 to go!! May all go to hell this week since we'll be in Victoria.... Afternoon tea at the Empress hotel may screw it all up, but for 55$ per person, you'd better believe I'm gonna eat anything and everything they set in front of me!! ;)

Segments of the protein Casein are the same as segments of the protein strands of gluten, the 33-mer segment.   The cow's body builds that Casein protein.  It doesn't come from wheat.   Casein can trigger the same reaction as being exposed to gluten in some people.   This is not a dairy allergy (IGE mediated response).  It is not lactose intolerance.
    • trents
Wheatwacked, what exactly did you intend when you stated that wheat is incorporated into the milk of cows fed wheat? Obviously, the gluten would be broken down by digestion and is too large a molecule anyway to cross the intestinal membrane and get into the bloodstream of the cow. What is it from the wheat that you are saying becomes incorporated into the milk protein?
    • Scott Adams
Wheat in cow feed would not equal gluten in the milk, @Wheatwacked, please back up extraordinary claims like this with some scientific backing, as I've never heard that cow's milk could contain gluten due to what the cow eats.

Hello, @NanceK, I'm glad you're willing to give Benfotiamine with B Complex another go!  I'm certain you'll feel much better.   Yes, supplementation is a good idea even if you're healing and gluten free.  The gluten free diet can be low in B vitamins and other nutrients. A nutritionist can help guide you to a nutrient dense diet, but food sensitivities and food preferences can limit choices.  I can't consume fish and shellfish due to the sulfa hypersensitivity and iodine content, and dairy is out as well.  I react to casein, the protein in dairy, as well as the iodine in dairy.  My Dermatitis Herpetiformis is aggravated by iodine.   Blood tests for B vitamin levels are notoriously inaccurate.  You can have deficiency symptoms before blood levels change to show a deficiency.  I had subclinical vitamin deficiencies for years which affected my health, leading to a slow downward spiral.  Because the B vitamins are water soluble, they are easily excreted in urine if not needed.  It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   Wheat and other gluten containing grain products have vitamins and minerals added to them to replace those nutrients lost in processing.  Manufacturers add cheap vitamins that our bodies don't absorb or utilize well.  Even normal people can suffer from vitamin deficiencies.  The rise in obesity can be caused by High Calorie Malnutrition, where people eat more carbohydrate calories but don't get sufficient thiamine and B vitamins to turn the calories into energy.  The calories are stored as fat in an effort to ration out diminishing thiamine  stores.    It's time to buy your own vitamins in forms like Benfotiamine that our bodies can use well.   Not sleeping well and fatigue are symptoms of Thiamine deficiency.   I'm certain Benfotiamine with a B Complex will help you immensely.  Just don't take them at night since B vitamins provide lots of energy, you can become too energetic to sleep.  Better to take them earlier in your day.   Do keep me posted on your progress!
    • NanceK
Oh wow! Thanks for this information! I’m going to try the Benfotiamine again and will also add a B-complex to my supplements. Presently, I just take sublingual B12 (methylcobalomin). Is supplementation for celiacs always necessary even though you remain gluten-free and you’re healing as shown on endoscopy? I also take D3, mag glycinate, and try to get calcium through diet. I am trying to bump up my energy level because I don’t sleep very well and feel fatigued quite often. I’m now hopeful that adding the Benfotiamine and B-complex will help. I really appreciate your explanation and advice! Thanks again Knitty Kitty!
