Are you kidding me?? Balls with sauce?? I had to back away from the computer to keep from putting down something inappropriate.

Um... ........ . yeah.. ... ... ..I, too, was overcome with the possibilities, and backed dutifully away.... <_<:rolleyes:

I was actually telling DH about POeter's balls. We have met POeter and Jacquie in the flesh, but at the time the subject of P's now infamous balls never came up, and we never got to see them until the pic was put up here.

They're probably much more impressive in real life. If we ever meet again, POeter, please bring along your balls - - a photo, I just sense, does not do them justice.

Holy crap... . . . . . ......in all the misery and ugliness of the horrific oil spill in the Gulf, I have just found a piece of beauty. Our national news station just had a live interview with Phillippe Cousteau, Jacques's son. who was offering his expert perspective.

Hmmm....the fascinating, ever-present Status Button. I have pondered this thing, and wondered much... . ... .... .my official Status is Neutral.

I suppose this is a good thing.

M (14) has a MD appt for yearly check. Going to insist he have the blood tests for Celiac. Have printed the info page from Univ of Chicago Celiac Ct to explain what he needs. Neither boy has symptoms but it seems it's a good idea to make sure nothing is going on. I am optimistic that this MD will have a small clue about celiac disease.

Correct--he came home Friday night and went back today. I've been through this plenty of times, but somehow this time is really hitting me hard.

Yes, excellent possibilities.. . . .. . ....Hell, I am NOT simply neutral! I am married, middle-aged, a mother, an employee, of average height and weight.. . . ..... . . ..actually, that does sound fairly neutral, dunnit?.. .. ......<_<

Perhaps, this being a celiac site, the status button only relates to the disease itself.

Choices of Daily Status: Bloated, Flatulent, Itchy, Fatiqued, Flattened Villi, Healing Nicely.... . .... . :rolleyes:

Gaaaah! Glad to be at work today, tis hard to give up my Mondays of quiet house and getting things done for a houseful of loud people who want clean laundry, but don't seem to want to let me do it <_< But, the kids were getting along sooooo well this weekend and for that, I am uber thankful. Hub and I got to go on a date Saturday night too, which was fun.

To a psilly, more wodka is defintely needed. :lol:

      @Scott Adams That's actually exactly what I ended up asking for— vodka tonic with Titos. I saw on their website that Tito's is certified gluten-free (maybe many of the clear vodkas are, I don't know, I just happened to look up Tito's in advance). I should have actually specified the 'splash' though, because I think with the amount of tonic she put in there, ...

      Be interesting to see the effects of dairy reintroduction with gluten. As well as milk protein sensitivity in and of itself the casein part particularly has been shown to mimic gluten in about 50% of celiacs. Keep us posted!

There’s so much known about celiac disease with all the scientific research that’s been done so far yet practically and clinically there’s also so much unknown, still. Wise idea as it seems my grandson has the beginning symptoms (several celiacs in his dad's family), but parents continue to think he's just being difficult.  Argh.  There's a test I took that diagnosed gluten sensitivity in 2014 via Entero Labs, and am planning on having done again.  Truth be told, I'm hoping it's the bromine/additives/preservatives as I miss breads and pastas terribly when home here in the states!  Be well and here's to our guts healing ❤️

      Lol that’s so true! Hope you get clarity, it’s tough when there’s doubt. There’s so much known about celiac disease with all the scientific research that’s been done so far yet practically and clinically there’s also so much unknown, still. Out of curiosity what’s her dairy consumption like? Even compared to early years to now? Has that changed? Calcium is dependent in the mechanism of antigen presenting cells in the gut. High calcium foods with gluten grains can initiate inflammation greater.  This is why breakfast cereals and milk combo long term can be a ticking time bomb for genetically susceptible celiacs (not a scientific statement by any means but my current personal opinion based on reasoning at present). Milk and wheat are the top culprits for food sensitivity. Especially in childhood. There are also patient cases of antibodies normalising in celiac children who had milk protein intolerance/ delayed type allergy. Some asymptomatic. There were a couple of cases of suspected celiacs that turned out to have milk protein intolerance that normalised antibodies on a gluten containing diet. Then there were others that only normalised antibodies once gluten and milk was eliminated. Milk kept the antibodies positive. Celiac disease is complicated to say the least.
