OK, do we need to return to songs that get stuck in our heads or jingles? We are NOT boring!!! Just burnt out. Perhaps we all need to have a glass of wine at the same time and that will bring back our pfunnies (and yes I know I overdid the wine the night before the funeral).

Anyone here follow Rachel Maddow? Evidently there's someone on the internet who has decided that she is a lesbian vampire (yes she is a lesbian but I don' personally care). So she has two moles on her neck that appear to be where a vampire bites. Now I don't think it's pfunny (other than how ignorant the man on the clip is), but it's not boring. Some of these are repetitive. Ii think that the first two are different. I find the man accusing her of being a vampire to be both pfunny and scary but not boring.

Any signs of an arc being built somewhere.....

So where did Noah keep the woodpeckers on his ark?

So where did Noah keep the woodpeckers on his ark?

Great question!!

I have a beautiful cockatoo. I should have name him "Houdini". We broke a couple of the ceramic bowls, so I bought new ones. Same thing but plastic.

Well, he figured out how to get the plastic bowls out of the place where they go, then how to take off the hook holding the part of the cage closed where the bowl goes, then how to take off the whole section of cage off after the hook was removed, so that he can get out.

I think I finally outsmarted that bird .... I put bottle lids underneath the bowls so he can't lift them up at an angle to get them out.

So I'm wondering, how did he keep any of the birds on the arc at all? They surely only stayed there if they wanted to!!

celiac-mommy Collaborator

Well, if the drawing in children's books are any indication, they flew along side the ark. Duh......:lol::lol:

Well, yeah, but where would they fly to?? Even the godwits only fly for 9 days - 40 days is a bit much for any bird methinks :D

kareng Grand Master

Used to have a rabbit that would open his cage door. The cage was on a table, so he had about 3-4 inches of table when he got out. He would then hop on top of the cage and wait for me to get home and feed him.

Several neighbors dogs get out of thier yards and come sit on my front porch.

Just like Carla's bird, they were bored but didn't really want to run away!

I suppose that Noah's birds would have to rest on the ark at some point. I'm assuming he didn't need to take any ducks or pelican or that sort of bird?

CarlaB Enthusiast

Yes, my bird just wants out. He doesn't like being caged up. He's been out all day, so he's happy.

mushroom Proficient

And he wouldn't have to worry about the Kiwis flyin' - they need a plane

GAAHHH! NO arcs are being constructed here!! DS is struggling with his advanced grade nine mathS, and if I see one more arc, hypotenuse, tri-frickin'-somethin-er-others, tangents and cosigns (wait.. . . . ... . that's my daughter's advanced functions).. . ... . . . ....hell! Get thee to a tutor, she screams!

People don't really do that, do they? <_<

....Or the termites?

Well, he figured out how to get the plastic bowls out of the place where they go, then how to take off the hook holding the part of the cage closed where the bowl goes, then how to take off the whole section of cage off after the hook was removed, so that he can get out.

Holy crap.. .. . ... . is he doin' the dishes yet? Laundry? Can he endorse yer cheques?

40 days is a bit much for any bird methinks :D

... . . and nights. .. . . . . ...I somehow suspect, from what we've heard so far, that Jyesssss may well be up to it.. . . .

Hmmm, watched the first two. Rachel Maddow is hot. I guess all female vampires are hot. Yummy! But I am not sure I want to live in MexAmeriCanada though. I can't hardly remember the words for one national anthem let alone three!

Now my computer says it is 6:37 pm. Seriously!

I am on my 3rd day of vacation and I have had to work every day of it so far. Called my doc and he said I am probably not diabetic but am low on vit D still. So got to up it some more, 800 units isn't enough it seems.

Hello everyone in the funny room I'm new to this place and need a few laughs so my only friend here (she sobs uncontrollably) GFinDC invited me on over where the crazy people live. I think I'm going to like it here... Talked to my doctor again to day (sheesh I think he's in love with me or something he calls every day) and couldn't help but remember the look on his face when he said my gastric emptying study was normal and I said ok so were the eggs in the terlet in the morning normal too.. WIDE EYED DR... LOL I chuckle everytime I bring that image back. Sooo, hence more testing and now I am here with the crazy people. Last I'll say on the reason for being here!

I have two cats, they let me live here with them and pay the bills for them.. Aren't they just precious to do that for me? :P

Thanks Loey, I've been addicted to humor since I can remember. Like the time my Dad made my Mom so mad that she threw a plate of spaghetti at him and he ducked and it hit her 'brand new' white curtains.. I laughed for days over that one and I was only 7 LOL

Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.

I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.

Are Bobresmill gluten free oats ok for sensitive celiacs?

thank you both for the insights. i agree, im going to back off on dairy and try sucraid. thanks for the tip about protein powder, i will look for whey protein powder/drinks!   i don’t understand why my doctor refused to order it either. so i’ve decided i’m not going to her again, and i’m going to get a second opinion with a GI recommended to me by someone with celiac. unfortunately my first appointment isn’t until February 17th. do you think i should go gluten free now or wait until after i meet with the new doctor? i’m torn about what i should do, i dont know if she is going to want to repeat the endoscopy, and i know ill have to be eating gluten to have a positive biopsy. i could always do the gluten challenge on the other hand if she does want to repeat the biopsy.    thanks again, i appreciate the support here. i’ve learned a lot from these boards. i dont know anyone in real life with celiac.

Let me suggest an adjustment to your terminology. "Celiac disease" and "gluten intolerance" are the same. The other gluten disorder you refer to is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which is often referred to as being "gluten sensitive". Having said that, the reality is there is still much inconsistency in how people use these terms. Since celiac disease does damage to the small bowel lining it often results in nutritional deficiencies such as anemia. NCGS does not damage the small bowel lining so your history of anemia may suggest you have celiac disease as opposed to NCGS. But either way, a gluten-free diet is in order. NCGS can cause bodily damage in other ways, particularly to neurological systems.
