After starting it, we went to work on GFP brownies. My brother made them when he hosted the family at Christmas, and they were just awesome. So we picked up the mix, and now they are cooling on the kitchen counter.

Gads, POeter....your brother can cook, can write internationally-acclaimed novels. . . .......what can't he do??

Betcha you've got better balls than he does, and a bigger deck. . . . .

:o:lol:

What is the reason, again, that your brother gives for not eating mushrooms? They are not on the same developmental level, er sumfin? It was fascinating, I must say........just canna remember any of it. . . . . . ..

Jestgar Rising Star

well, while I was phorumless without a computer, the cats AND the room mate pointed out how much time I'd been spending crouched over my keyboard.

I'm gonna try actually accomplishing something today, like making Open Original Shared Link . (I'll try not to strain anything)

Rob couldn't cook to save his life. When it is his turn to host Christmas we go to a restaurant near his home. This was my other brother, Alan.

Rob believes that you should only eat things that are developed at the same level as we are. So animals must have eyes, feet and a spine, and plants must photosynthesize.

I compiled a history of the Silly Crown. Our founder, Richard, was leader for 199 pages and 374 days before the modern, post-Richard era began with Beverly's assumption of the Crown by starting page 200. Until yesterday, the average reign was 31 days, with Bev's being the shortest.

Monarch ... Crowned .. Reign

----------------------------

Richard . 29-Sep-2006 . 374

Beverly . 08-Oct-2007 .. 19

Amanda .. 27-Oct-2007 .. 37

Tom ..... 03-Dec-2007 .. 32

Jess .... 04-Jan-2008 .. 26

Sarah ... 30-Jan-2008 .. 27

Tom ..... 26-Feb-2008 .. 31

Jess .... 28-Mar-2008 .. 38

Peter ... 05-May-2008 .. 29

Emily ... 03-Jun-2008 .. 31

Nikki ... 04-Jul-2008 .. 34

Susie ... 07-Aug-2008 .. 28

Janet ... 04-Sep-2008 .. 33

Erica ... 07-Oct-2008 .. 31

Jacquie . 07-Nov-2008 .. 34

Amanda .. 11-Dec-2008 .. 35

Susie ... 15-Jan-2009 ... 2

Lisa H .. 17-Jan-2009 ... ?

What does the future hold?

When I lived in Armenia everyone would head out to the fields and pick whatever edible thing was growing as soon as it was warm.

After months of no fresh vegetation you'd be surprised what tastes good.

Yikes!!!! HOW long were you there????

omg.....We were actually down on the Rideau Canal fer a skate this aft, and I couldn't help thinking of how much that would hurt, being tossed over the guard rails and onto the ice. There'd be no way to make that less than very painful, even with the substantial natural padding that I have accumulated. . .. . ..

But *I* haven't developed to the level of photosynthesis! :o Should I not eat plants?

:lol::lol: Yes....we, I believe, are from the Pre-Photo Classification. .. . ..

I have not yet found the metabolic pathway that converts carbon dioxide into organic compounds. . . . .. but I'm looking, I'm looking!!!

So, POeter.....all live things that we eat must have feet, spines and eyes?

Gad.

Like. . . . . did your brother mean that ALL things with eyes and feet are fair game?

Would he eat Mickey Mouse?

Can they have a gazillion eyes, like insects?

Hmmmmm . . . drawing a blank . . . does something have a spine and a gazillion eyes?? Nothing's coming to mind.

So your brother would eat something advancely developed like a rat but not something like . . . shrimp??? . . . OK, I just gotta say . . . he's wrong . . . shrimp scampi is sooooooooooooo much better than rat scampi . . . . . . or so I've been told.

psawyer Proficient

I suspect that a rat would fall within Rob's eligibility criteria, but probably not his taste. Shrimp would not qualify. B)

And speaking of things to eat, we baked bread and brownies this afternoon. :)

It is still snowing.

Susie, where are you

elye Community Regular

Where is Soooozie?? Has she come in as a guest, and been reading through her reign all afternoon?? Has she been at a mega-service at church, asking for us wackls to be saved?

Mr. Jenkins has a new name. He is now called Jax, or Mr. Jaxon, until further notice. He is quite cute. :)

Came back early from The Sur - was not a good time.

Sillies - - I will NEVER be able to read 100 pages, 'tis all lost to me :( ......I can't catch up. Going to nap, or try to, now...............

carry on!

Awww Susie . . . sorry to hear The Sur was not good. :(

Let me tell you . . . it's not as bad as it sounds . . . very short posts . . . but if you want, I will summarize:

blahblahblahblah the sound of about 4 to 10 sillies all talking at the same time

some song lyrics

some horrendous links of Captain Kirk signing (and I use that term loosely)

This is probably the only post out of 1,500 to have true intellectual importance. B)

Sorry the trip was a drag, and you missed all the phun here while you were away.

Jenkins is now Jaxon, or Jax for short. Fine, as long as you two are still together. You need a guy in your life who by loyal to you (as long as you feed him). ;)

Edited typo that changed meaning.

Looking for help sourcing gluten-free products that do not contain potato or corn derived ingredients. I have other autoimmune conditions (Psoriatic Arthritis and Sjogrens) so I’m looking for prepared foods as I have fatigue and cannot devote a lot of time to baking my own treats.

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's completely understandable to feel frustrated, stressed, and disregarded after such a long and difficult health journey. It's exhausting to constantly advocate for yourself, especially when you're dealing with so many symptoms and positive diagnoses like SIBO, while still feeling unwell. The fact that you have been diligently following the diet without relief is a clear sign that something else is going on, and your doctors should be investigating other causes or complications, not dismissing your very real suffering.

It is just so sad that health care in the United States has come to this.  Health insurance should be available to everyone, not just the healthy or the rich.  My heart goes out to you.  I would not hesitate to have the test and pay for it myself.  My big concern would be how you could keep the results truly private.  I am sure that ultimately, you could not.  A.I. is getting more and more pervasive, and all data is available somewhere.  I don't know if you could give a fake name, or pay for your test with cash.  I certainly would not disclose any positive results on a private insurance application.  As I understand it, for an official diagnosis, an MD needs to review your labs and make the call.  If you end up in the ER, or some other situation, just request a gluten free diet, and say it is because you feel better when you don't eat gluten.      Hang in there, though.  Medicare is not that far away for you, and it will remove a lot of stress from your health care concerns.  You will even be able to "come out of the closet" about being Celiac!

Yes, I've posted a few times about two companies: Request a Test and Ulta Labs. Also, pretty much we can all request any test we want (with the possible exception of the N protein Covid test and I'm sure a couple of others) with Lab Corp (or Pixel by Lab Corp) and Quest. I much prefer Lab Corp for their professionalism, ease of service and having it together administratively, at least in DC. And just so you know, Request a Test uses Lab Corp and Quest anyway, while Ulta Labs uses only Quest. Ulta Labs is cheaper than Request a Test, but I am tired of dealing with Quest, so I don't use them so much.

PS - I think you meant this site, but I don't believe it has been updated in years: http://glutenfreedrugs.com/ so it is best to use: You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
