Hi Dear Psillies,I went to the oncologist yesterday and it seems I have Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. The good news is that it' the slowest progressing of cancers. Will fnd out what stage I'm in in two weeks.Love,Loey.S.

jeez, Loey......that sucks.

But at least you have an answer, so now you know what you're dealing with.

Woot!!

It's not raining!! I'm going for my walk this morning. Haven't done so in a very long time (stupid distracting boyfriend :P ) and I'm so excited. :)

Okay guys, my brain keeps playing tricks with my fingers, or the other way around  There I was over on another thread spouting away about gluten free pasta, and what comes out but "gluten free pasture" You can take the girl off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the girl. Except that we don't even call them pastures or fields here in New Zealand; we call them paddocks. However, we do put old nags out to pasture, which is probably where I belong

Holy crap.... . I is gonna be Kween for many, many harvests, methinks.. .. . ......

Michelle has made terrific, steady progress -- she is now in 9th place out of 61 remaining teams, and the only musher in the top fifteen with all sixteen dogs still running.

HOW EXCITING!!!! :D :D

WIH?! So I'm trying on my swimsuits yesterday trying to decide which ones to bring and I happened to turn around to see how the back looked...mistake, I know...but it appears that sometime recently I sat in cottage cheese and it STUCK to my arse and backs of me thighs! Then I spent another hour looking for sarongs and cute skirts to hide the mess. This is very upsetting!

I don't think I posted this one. They also made a really nice one for the school but haven't put it out on Youtube yet because it might leak secrets to the competition. J is in the first picture, lower left corner in white.

They have a website. www.mmr2410.com It is updated only when you might expect teenagers would - when they have a lot of homework and a chemistry test.

they talk of quakes and fires instead

Of teenage boys

of broken limbs

But Spring springs bring

Phresh phlooding phun

washing out what now is done

Build your boat and chuck the oars

grab the sides and ride the rides

We are the psillies

We live for fun

We dance and sing and smile again

We got the bridge club up and running last night, but had to run on chocolate because "someone" (no, not me, I would never do that) forgot the rum  and the local is a "no entry" zone of rubble

The one that says you move into an area and after a while buy a house. We decided to buy one where our hearts are (the town the kids live in) and keep a small apartment here. We've been house-hunting up here for a few months and something just didn't feel right. This feels right--we were planning on retiring back there anyway, so we'll just shift things up a bit.

:D :D :D

jerseyangel Proficient

I feel I should also mention that since we are right out side of NYC, we can get a house down there and a small apartment here for as much or less than a home here. Not to mention phamily dinners at me house again.

:D Wackadoodle :D

Hi, I posted before about my son's legs shaking after gluten. I did end up starting him on vit b and happily he actually started sleeping better and longer.  Back to my 4 year old. She had gone back to meltdowns, early wakes, and exhaustion. We tested everything again and her ferritin was lowish again (16) and vit d was low. After a couple weeks on supplements she is cheerful, sleeping better and looks better. The red rimmed eyes and dark circles are much better.   AND her Ttg was a 3!!!!!! So, we are crushing the gluten-free diet which is great. But WHY are her iron and vit d low if she's not getting any gluten????  She's on 30mg of iron per day and also a multivitamin and vit d supplement (per her dr). That helped her feel better quickly. But will she need supplements her whole life?? Or is there some other reason she's not absorbing iron? We eat very healthy with minimal processed food. Beef maybe 1x per week but plenty of other protein including eggs daily.  She also says her tummy hurts every single morning. That was before the iron (do not likely a side effect). Is that common with celiac?

Celiac disease is the most likely cause, but here are articles about the other possible causes:

Hi @Atl222 As @trents points out, there could be many reasons for this biopsy result.  I am interested to know, is your gastroenterologist concerned?  Also, are your blood tests showing steady improvement over the years? I remember when I had my last biopsy, several years after diagnosis, mine came back with with raised lymphocytes but no villous damage, too! In my own case, my consultant wasn't remotely concerned - in fact, he said I might still get this result even if all I ever did was eat nothing but rice and water.   My coeliac blood tests were still steadily improving, albeit slowly, which was reassuring.

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @Atl222! Yes, your increased lymphocytes could be in response to oats or it could possibly be cross contamination from gluten that is getting into your diet from some unexpected source but not enough to damage the villi. And I'm certain that increased lymphocytes can be caused by other things besides celiac disease or gluten/oats exposure. See attachment. But you might try eliminating oats to start with and possibly dairy for a few months and then seek another endoscopy/biopsy to see if there was a reduction in lymphocyte counts.
