We ARE in fact going to Vegas at end of March for a wedding......ha ha ha ah!!!!!!!!!!!!! now settle down, all ye mad sillies, 'tis for some good friends of his....alas, young Jenn is coming with us!! and it will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo much fun........this is a shocker - I have never been to Vegas........... can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Las Vegas -- very fun! Strangely I've been there 3 times and Ryan and I are thinking about going this summer as a somewhat delayed honeymoon. I was 12 or so the first time and couldn't wait until I could go back once I was legal. I love gambling but thankfully I also have a fondness for my money so I am able to contain myself.

Susie, if there ever is a place for an impromptu wedding Vegas is it . . . Hehehe, just kidding. But had Ryan and I been in Vegas at all last summer I think I would have done it -- I didn't think our wedding was every going to happen!! May 10th can't come soon enough!

No breakfast in bed as I was the first up - but the kitchen did look like a bomb had gone off (does that count?? )

The boys know what side their bread is buttered and dutifully gave me a card AND some smelly bubble bath stuff (cleverly with NO help from their father  )

Awww . . . very cute! :D Happy Mother's Day!!!

Thank GAWD Sophie still thinks boys are disgusting...... :)<_<

I remember that feeling well! My parents were also quite happy with that point of view. I think I always thought boys were kinda disgusting until I found my boy.

She obviously likes the sound of it, as she is saying it regularly. It's "fan-f*ckin-tastic"

 I love it!!! Let's hope her vocabulary rubs off on all of her neighboUrs in their retirement community.

How the hell does someone in their 40s decide to do this?

College's 1st taste of freedom this isn't.

:o

I have to just be a little bit wicked and say this: um, is it his new roommate sit-yoo-ay-shun??????????? gah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Requiring both The Phaerie AND the vicodin, just to cope????????????????????? I've had entire relationships wherein those two would have been most helpful..........................

<cracking self up>

So......Must tell you all about my errand trip out with my mom, and the uncomfortable development that has happened. My mother will be eighty in a month, but she's got all her marbles (at least, all that she's ever had)....Now, it seems that she has suddenly picked up some new vocabulary. She obviously likes the sound of it, as she is saying it regularly.

It's "fan-f*ckin-tastic". She says it at home, when we're speaking about the weather..."Look out the window. It looks fan-f*ckin'-tastic out there!", when she is discussing things with my Dad: "Oh, Les, you should wear that cardigan more often. It looks SO fan-f*ckin'-tasic!!" Gad....So, she sprinkled her conversation with it while out with me. At Home Depot, she told the elderly clerk who was helping her get paint, "That is exactly the colour I've been after. FAN-F*CKIN-TASTIC!!" I'm quickly walking away, by this time. Then, AGAIN, at the grocery store, to the bag packer, a teenage kid..."That's great....just put my eggs on the top, there.... fan-f*ckin'-tastic, young man."

Um.........okay......continuing in the theme of being accusatory and just ugly and nasty.........

You......are...................LYING. This simply can NOT, I repeat CANNOT, be true. You're just fibbing us, to toy wif us, now aren't you?????????????

OMG...I'm quite flattered that I could be considered creative enough to make this stuff up...I mean, really, who would concoct a story about their 80-year old mom saying fan-f*ckin-tastic? Man, I should be so imaginative....

Actually, I should get my mom on here to verify all this. Ya know....type out the dreaded expression once or twice....

But, see, she doesn't find any of this humorous, or strange. She thinks, "well, everybody's using these kinds of expressions. What's the big deal?" ...Sigh........

AMANDA!! FAN-F*CKIN-TASTIC!!

Was there a deluge of coins for you today at the casino? :)

The casino sucked....PA is just getting into the casino scene....but the casino opened 10 minutes from our house, its called Hollywood Casino, all it is, is slots.

The first thing that bugged me was I was carded by just walking in the door....and yes I know it is great when people think you are young but they allowed a lot of other younger....sluttier dressed girls go by but stopped me. Not only was I carded but then they made me wear a bracelet on my wrist just like they give at the County Fair so you can go on rides.

SO after playing around awhile we decided to walk around and find new machines. The only slots I like are the ones where the lines can be played diaganol and such. So I found us two machines and John was standing there not wanting to sit down. I see a 10 dollar bill lying next to my chair and then a 1 dollar as well. SO I put my foot on it and finally got John to sit down. When he gave me my voucher to put in the machine I dropped it and picked up the money.

I know it is not right to take money off the floor but I consider myself lucky! 11 bucks is a big deal! I was excited. We left the casino shortly after. Not winning. We each take $25 and thats it so I guess we can't expect too much.

We will just make the 3 hr haul to Atlantic City...much more fun!

My house is still ok too, no buckles in the floors, all windows intact,

Sillies I thought of you all today whilest I surfed through the channels while folding laundry. My fair Brady was on VH1, which has Greg brady and that model Adreinne Curry from the Surreal Life. I guess they are still together. Anyway in this episode she was laying in bed and suddenly sticks her rear in the air and says A$$'s of Thunder and farts louder than I have ever heard....on national Tv.....

Ok now the old stuff . ..from before hearing of the terribly terribly premature demise of The Talented Mr. Healey. :(

John seems passed out now, but wasn't when I came home to watch my U of Az hoops at 1p. It's just such a brain-drain, sapping my energy to interact w/ him when he's durrrrrr-RUNK. Not just buzzed or tipsy.

Made for a pretty crappy mood all day.

Kinda tough to suddenly have to find things to do out somewhere, but I DID find a pretty close Sunday jazz jam. Might be one of the 1st places I play.

So strange to start the day so well then it totally sours just from having to deal w/ the morning drunk. It's just reeeee-effin'-dik-you-luss .. . ..

It IS the 1st time for this, but when I agreed to have a roommate, his 8yo was here & he was never overly inebriated.

Maybe I made a mistake.

Maybe a victim of bait & switch.

Morning Sillies!

Well another weekend which flew by and here I am at work again....I didn't sleep much last night which seems to be something that is getting better throughout the week but I struggle with it on Sunday nights.

Emily where are you???? You're my morning gal!!! I might need the brain for a bit today...can you spare?

elye Community Regular

Morning, Sillies!

One week until our March break...you guys in the States have it this week, n'est-ce pas? How about you chaps across the pond, Nikki...do your students get a (ridiculous) week off in March?

Carla! You look beautiful!

Anyway in this episode she was laying in bed and suddenly sticks her rear in the air and says A s of Thunder and farts louder than I have ever heard....on national Tv.....

How could I have missed such culturally-laden comic material? <_<

Meant to quote you, Ptaum, on your dire roommate situation. You said, questioningly, "Maybe I made a mistake". Well, not to play up the Emporer's New Clothes thing, but I think that it has ended up being a mistake, and you are feeling it in energy-sapping ways, in the days turning sour...it may well have been a seemingly good arrangement at first, but boy, I don't think too many people could be tolerating this stuff like you have. Such a shame....you're finally getting your health in order, seen some turnaround, happy days....but this....

I'm sorry John's draggin' ya down.... :(

Boy, some sadness lingers here today.

Just reading about Jeff. He had battled cancer all of his life, and music truly helped him get through the pain of treatment and the knowledge that his life would likely be a short one. I will listen to his songs differently, now...I'm sure I'll hear new things.

Back to Silly!!! Carry On!......

Colleges around me do the spring break but not the actual schools with younger kids. My sister is on spring break from college this week and John's brother is on the following week.

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.
    • Mari
Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.
    • Mari
Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
