. . . problem is, they're are NOT the best readers. Just think of how they would try to pronounce all those different spellings of Tghawm.

But hey, you'd be providing that ever-desirable teaching moment, as well as the opportunity for those Cubs to practise their famous motto: "Always be ready!" One never knows when one will need to pronounce or spell such names as Ptaoughymnmn, or such words as eigen vector or dominatrix. Janet, this is bound to get you back in as assistant den leader - - perhaps put you right in the leadership role!

Are either of you gonna offer an explanation so I can stop trying to figure out what they mean by 'decompose a matrix'???

Gad....I did not even know that "decompose" could be an active verb, let alone how in hell one would do it to a matrix.....

:huh::lol:

Jestgar Rising Star

That was pretty much my reaction

I know, and the odd newbie that stumbles on here must think, "Whoa...that poor guy with a name like that! What kind of parent would DO that to their child?!"

Hey, Ptaouoyghmnmn!! It worked!! There's Susie!

:)

DingoGirl Enthusiast

OMG - Ptauoghoiuoiehghhlmmmmmmmmmmm  summoned me and here I am!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm new around here, but how long have you been on Effexor? My DD used to be on that....and several others at different times. Many of the ones she tried worked at first, but after a while became ineffective. She hated to keep changing and was sure nothing would ever work. She's been doing really well for over a year, but I don't know what it is she's been on. I'll have to ask.

BTW, what kind of jewelry do you make?

Hi Lisa, and others of you who have asked about my med - -

you know.....I think I've been on this Effexor for - between two and three years, maybe longer?!! It could be almost four years.

I do think it's time for a change..........I feel SOOOOOOOOOOO tired and heavy and - even as though breathing is a struggle - that is just part of what physical depression feels like to me. :( So - I have an appt. tomorrow w/ doctor. I am so relieved, because I can just SO tell that........thing's aren't right. They're certainly not as bad as they CAN get - - but I'm not going to let things get that far.

When all I want to do is sleep and sleep........and I start thinking that I am worthless and things are way too hard (and worse thoughts than that - I'll spare the details).....I must pay attention.

Sarah - I have been on 150 mg. of Effexor.......which used to work. I am going to switch to someting entirely different as there are some side effects on this drug that I'm tired of.

So - had lunch w/ Kissey today at our fave Mexican restaurant. He is so precious - a tremendous gift to my life and very supportive. Doesn't need me to be anything right now except around him.

After I stopped laughing, and regarded Gus who was trotting happily in her wake, saying to himself, "for Gawd's sake...it's a bloody train! Save this for a groundhog", I yelled at her to come back, which she did. Promptly. Too phunny....

Em - I love the visual of the big, leggy poodle chasing the train

Amanda! You are about to make what perhaps could be judged a big flipover (4500)....Perhaps we get skin irritations at the smaller flipovers once we get high enough, and the fluid deluges at the thousand-marks. Susie, did you hit a 500-flipover when you went to the cabin? These rules could change throughout the duration of this thread, so we must be ready. Perhaps King Peter has been briefed on such matters....

:o OMG - do rashes count? why - I should think yes - - the poison oak rash really oozes after a while. certainly fluids with that........

dear gawd - I see that I'm approaching 4000 posts..................... HOLD TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh! Both my kids have experienced this - - very contagious, and known as "Fifth's Disease", and I cannot remember why....

Amanda! this rash............Fifth's Disease.......prolly because you might get this rash after a regular and constant consumption of fifths of vodka er sumfin?

SARAH - Ezra on steroids..............zoigs!!!!!!!!!! The benadryl is a bit fatigue-ing, thank God.

Gads, trying to understand principle component analysis and Eigen vectors. I'm pretty sure if you place the word "theoretical" in front of any subject, that subject should be considered only "theoretically" important. (As in, "I'm theoretically working today").

STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm . . . yes, this could be a good way of getting out of being assistant den leader next year . . . problem is, they're are NOT the best readers. Just think of how they would try to pronounce all those different spellings of Tghawm.

 absolutely brilliant idea..............

<ahem>

Ps-ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww- pzeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

YoooooOOOOOhoooooooooo

   LURVE the spelling

There was a newbie reading earlier........poor thing :(

Oh my Goodness Sarah!!!! Poor Ez . . . at least it doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. When my son was on prednisone and bouncing off the walls at the docs office once, I mentioned in passing to another mother that he was going to survive the illness but I was going to have to kill him because of his behavioUr. She remarked "that's how I feel when my kids are on steriods" . . . and she didn't even know he was on it . . .:lol: Yep, get that boy to the allergist, stat!!! It took me two months to get in to see one so make an appointment soon!!!

Oh sarah- this kid is a trooper!!!!!! Poor little guy!

Bring that cute dingo (Angus's nickname went from Dingus to Dingy to Dingy Ding Ding Ding- she'll fit right in!!)

OMG Bev--not another tick!!!!! :o:angry::angry::angry:

They just love you--the nasty little buggers....I guess at least all the antibiotics you're on will kill anything before it gets a chance to get a foothold. If there's one thing you don't need..... <_< You poor thing.

Well guys, I might not be around as much for the next week and a half or so.....I'm letting Matt take my laptop with him on his trip starting tomorrow. I can use his computer, but probably won't be on as much.

Susie, I hope that you can get the antidepressant figured out....whether you need a different dose or another med altogether. Do those possibly lose their effectivness after taking for a long period of time? I don't know, just tossing it out there. One thing to take into consideration is that your chemistry has no doubt changed in the last few years on the diet--maybe something different would be more appropriate now.

While extremely hot for SJ - 25 or 30 deg F over avg for mid-May - it only felt like a nice day in Phx. :)

King Peter, that is a terrific pic, and it absolutely MUST become your av. And of course, the screen is stuck in Sillyville....

Maybe it'll be a tall, dark and gorgeous technician!! Uh....is this possible, in your experience?

This reminds me of a question: Last night DH found a Japanese rice beer at our local beer store called Sapporo. The clerk told us it was gluten-free so he bought a six-pack. I did a bit of reading on it, and the jury is clearly out. It seems to employ barley, but it is altered (?) in the fermenting or cooking process (again, ?) to the point where it should be harmless to us. Anyone know anything? Our Scott says that we should proceed with caution.

Oracle Peter?

May start a new thread on this.....

Sapporo?????????????????????????

I don't think it's any closer to gluten-free than Bud & Michelob are, which are also made of rice instead of wheat.

I don't think healthfood-store-guy knows wtf he's talking about, tho I HAVE heard similar claims before.

P.S. I had to read "beef w/ sushi" 4 or 5x before I realized how close R & F are on the keybd! ;)

:( That's disappointing. Tastes great, it's 5%, and it's cheap....

I forgot to mention my suspicion of the high amount of glyphosate allowed to be used on wheat in USA and NZ and Australia. My weight was 69kg mid-2023, I went down to 60kg in March 2024 and now hover around 63kg (just after winter here in NZ) - wheat-free and very low alcohol consumption.

Hi Jess Thanks so much for your response and apologies for the long delay in answering. I think I must have been waiting for something to happen before I replied and unfortunately it fell off the radar... I have had an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy in the meantime (which revealed 'minor' issues only). Yes I do think histamine intolerance is one of the problems. I have been lowering my histamine intake and feeling a lot better. And I do think it is the liver which is giving the pain. I am currently taking zinc (I have had three low zinc tests now), magnesium, B complex, vitamin E and a calcium/Vitamin C mix. I consciously think about getting vitamin D outside. (Maybe I should have my vitamin D re-tested now...) I am still 100% gluten-free. My current thoughts on the cause of the problems is some, if not all, of the following: Genetically low zinc uptake, lack of vitamin D, wine drinking (alcohol/sulphites), covid, immune depletion, gastroparesis, dysbiosis, leaky gut, inability to process certain foods I am so much better than late 2023 so feel very positive 🙂

Hi and thank you very much for your detailed response! I am so glad that the protocol worked so well for you and helped you to get your health back on track. I've heard of it helping other people too. One question I have is how did you maintain your weight on this diet? I really rely on nuts and rice to keep me at a steady weight because I tend to lose weight quickly and am having a hard time envisioning how to make it work, especially when not being able to eat things like nuts and avocados. In case you have any input, woud be great to hear it! Friendly greetings.

I was not taking any medications previous to this. I was a healthy 49 yo with some mild stomach discomfort. I noticed the onset of tinnitus earlier this year and I had Covid at the end of June. My first ‘flare-up’ with these symptoms was in August and I was eating gluten like normal. I had another flare-up in September and then got an upper endo at the end of September that showed possible celiac. My blood test came a week later. While I didn’t stop eating gluten before I had the blood test, I had cut back on food and gluten both. I had a flare-up with this symptoms after one week of gluten free but wasn’t being crazy careful. Then I had another flare-up this week. I think it might have been caused by Trader Joe’s baked tofu which I didn’t realize had wheat. But I don’t know if these flare-ups are caused by gluten or if there’s something else going on. I am food journaling and tracking all symptoms. I have lost 7 pounds in the last 10 days.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @Hmart! There are other medical conditions besides celiac disease that can cause villous atrophy as well as some medications and for some people, the dairy protein casein. So, your question is a valid one. Especially in view of the fact that your antibody testing was negative, though there are also some seronegative celiacs. So, do you get reactions every time you consume gluten? If you were to purposely consume a slice of bread would you be certain to develop the symptoms you describe?
