You won't believe how long it took for me to get the turkey's done remark.

Sorry you don't feel good Bev. Are you on new meds yet?

:lol: - Noooooo, Carla's the one willing to wear uncomfortable underwear to "torture" her husband . . . I'm thinking she's all for the AC/turkey timer option . . . 'tis more torture for the hubby!!!

Not uncomfortable underwear .... they're actually comfy even if they don't look it .... but the bras that make things look more interesting, aren't that comfortable .... but they also don't let you have the turkey timer look.

Why do they make mannequin look that way??? Who are the marketing clothes to anyway? I don't think women particularly like that look!

Oh... mah... GAH!

Carla got me to thinkin', and I just sent Brian a few frisky IMs at work... I think he may actually get home at a decent time tonight. Which means I may actually get some help with dinner and Pod Children wrangling! :D

Now you're learning! He's going to want some wrangling tonight after those frisky PM's!

OK- here's a warning: do NOT attempt to highlight your hair when in a bad mood-

I need to remember that .... next time I get my hair highlighted and I'm in a bad mood, keep my mouth shut so the stylist stays in a good mood and doesn't screw up!

 Don't scare me guys! It's a good thing that all of those invasive GI tests have helped me overcome some of my body shyness. I will definitely need bring some back up along to give me a gentle firm push into the fitting room with the consultant. I feel like I'm going to be weighed, measured, and found wanting!

That was so sweet. Some wild animals are so darn cute; I can see why people want them as pets even though it's such a bad idea. When we learned about the Amazon Rainforest in elementary school I did a project on the Open Original Shared Link and I thought they were the cutest animal ever and was so sad that I couldn't have one!

I LOVE this!!! I think Ellen had the video on her show. That is so neat that the lion remembered them when they were told that he wouldn't.

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Ptaum, I heard your summons!)

Well........lots and lots of bra/boob talk..............here's what *I* have done: walked into a posh bra store, looked at the saleswomen <_< and announced:

"I DEFY you to find me a bra that fits, that does NOT have an underwire."

 ( <---- their faces)

saleswoman: "what size are you?"

me: "well, 38A might work, but even that is too tight around the lats and ribcage."

saleswoman: "Oh. Well, I'm sorry, we don't have anything in that size."

HARRUMPH!!!!!!!!!!! Give me an anal scope any day......taht involves drugs and lots of napping afterwards.

much to comment on sillies, but too tired and overwhelmed these days. the chronic joblessness is really getting to me......... :( I can't even BRING THE SILLY.

I am supposed to go to the beach tomorrow, but we will see, Crazy G is acting, well, crazy, and not sure she can even GO tomorrow..........so who knows.

got nowt else.

Love to the sillies.

p.s.

new av.........it's me wif my bottle of St. George absinthe......SOOOOOOOOOOO yummy........ but look closely, on my right hand, middle finger, you can see my BLACKENED fingernail, from the huge windstorm that blew the front door shut and smashed it. I"ll have a black nail for the rest of my life, BTW, unless it falls off soon ('tis threatening to do that)..................

:)

CarlaB Enthusiast

Hey, good thing that lion recognized them or they might have been dinner!!! Cool video.

Susie, I had a black toe nail ... it fell off ... now the other one is partially black ... I have absolutely NO IDEA what I did to either of them! I bruise very easily, but that seems ridiculous. The second one looks like it will stay put ... I just polished over it :)

Morning Sillies...today is the big FL day!!!!

Our plane leaves @ 9:25pm, I did our Southwest online checking and we are both in the "A" group to board so we board first which is nice :) I am scared now and I didn't sleep last night, and when I did sleep I slept on the couch...since I didn't want to disturb John sleeping peacefully. I have all those what-if's running through my head.

Anyway I am at work until 2 and then I leave for the day. We will finish up at the house and leave for BWI by 4:30. So its all good.

I feel we are pretty prepared for security and all. The people at Southwest have been very helpful all along answering my questions and telling me what to expect. I got some gluten free goodies last night to put in my bag.

Emily congrats to the ripper!!!!

Mornin', Sillies!

Well...... . . . .

MIL arrives this evening on a 7:15 flight from waaaaaaaaayyyyy up north. Here for eighteen days, ten of which we will be in the US..........whew. She will be staying here, looking after our ark of animals and the ark itself, going through our medicine cabinets, stumbling upon my account on c.com and consequently learning what I really have to say.......

Gad. (If a newbie shows up on here with a name like oldnorthernlady er sumfin', asking a lot of questions about elye, what kind of a mother/spouse I seem like.......GO EASY, PLEASE!)...

:huh::lol:

He found a bra that fits? Just teasing- GO RIPPER GO!!!!!!!!!!!

:lol::lol:

I was walking around in my room in my bra and a pair of jeans. Jack came in and asked me, "Why do they call the crack between a lady's boobs Jesus, anyways?"

I turned to him and said, "Um.... .. it's called CLEAVAGE".

Boy, does that exchange ever open things up for comic revelry......:lol:

Susie! So glad you've checked in! You look beautiful in your pic, as always. Well, yer nail looks gross... ..but you look lurvely. :)

Actually, this is the first time in 10 yrs, last trip on the plane was a very rough landing in stormy weather in Atlanta....that really turned me off. Then of course 9/11 didn't help....I bet once I get there I will feel better.

How often do you fly?

I go to NY every fourth month. Then I go on business trips with Adam several time per year. So, I fly every couple months.

Very rarely have I ever had a tough landing. They practically do a strip search now (don't wear much jewelry, wear shoes that are easy to take off), so I don't think anything is getting through. My husband had toothpaste confiscated because it was over 3 oz.

You'll be fine. Just get there early.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Ours is a work trip, and John is going along. We really make out when we are driving somewhere since then John is totally free, here I had to pay for his airline ticket.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Technically, I work for Adam .... though when I backslid, I stopped going in because I didn't feel good enough, and now it's summer, so I'm busy with the kids. But come fall, I'll be back ... so being on the payroll makes it so I can go for free. :D

This is a "business" trip .... he has a big job in Miami that we'll stop by and take some pictures of for his portfolio.

I am a dyslexic typer as it is, always inverting letters and such, makes for some FUN typos!! But it's even worse on my lap taop, dunno why, sticky keys or something.

Morning Sillies...today is the big FL day!!!!

Yay Amanda, today is the day!!!!!

Take lots of deep breaths, you'll be landing safe and sound in Fla before you know it :):)

Hi all :D

My quote thingy was acting up again this morning--bounced me back to the top of the page and then I hit the wrong key and lost the whole reply field......said the heck with it! :P

I'm back to try this again.....

Anyway, Amanda, have a good, safe trip. I hate to fly, too--just one of my many phobias......you'll be fine. Mark flies quite often, and I'm never scared about that

Emily.....the MIL is visiting again, I see :D I remember the last time.....all of your small, whispered posting  Actually leaving the country during such a visit---I'll have to remember that one

It is nice that she will be there whilst you are all here--someone in the house (albeit possible snooping) will be so much safer ;)

Glad you're doing better, Julie. :) We need to dust off the Design Star thread!

Souczie!!!!! I missed you :D Working, not working....it's a constant internal tug of war. I understand ;) I worry about you when you're absent for a while.....

Gee, what else--this not being able to quote is a royal pain.....

Pataughmn--did you see the phaerie? :P

Where's PeOter? And Gian-knit?

Took my last Effexor the day before yesterday, and I'm feeling some withdrawal issues. :( Got sick to my stomach, rapid heartbeat, shock-like tingles last night. I took a phenergan (Rx anti-nausea) and that helped. Today I'm emotional like crazy... There's a woman over in the pregnancy forum who found out she was pregnant the same day she was diagnosed with Celiac, and she's really scared that she's going to miscarry... I wrote what I hope was an encouraging reply, but got all teary eyed while I was doing it. Sigh...

I do have a phunny to report, though. You know how Ezra is obsessed with super heroes and super villains? Well Lucas fixed them both some turkey dogs in the microwave, with my supervision. Because it's always a good idea to repeat myself, I reminded them--

"Now don't forget, you're only allowed to use the microwave when I'm right here. You're NOT allowed to use it without my supervision."

Ezra walked slowly up to me, and laid one hand gently on my arm. Wide eyes, awe in his voice. "Mom... you have... SUPER Vision?"

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.

Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
