I'm batedly (is that a word?) expecting the candidiasis bloodtest results today. With my luck lately I won't hear til who-knows-when ....

As in, wif bated breath? Hmmmmm . . .....Only you could come up with an adverbial form of this expression, Ptaoughmghmn!

Just heard from Tony & I might have an interview as soon as Monday & I have to pretend to be confident that I can physically do it, tho the physical demands aren't much & would be no more than 4hrs at a time.

Still .. ..I really don't know that I can do it but I'm damn sure I have to give it my best shot.

Wow, Ptaum. . . . sounds scary, and great! At least it's part time at first, like an easing into things, perhaps. . . . . ....what will you be doing?

It'd be running tests & characterizations on memory chips. When I was an engineer, it's something I'd usually send a tech to do unless it req'd on-the-fly editing of the test program. But engr'g usually means 9-10hr days and no brainfog, and I'm nowhere near capable of either.

Heyyyyyy I suppose there's no chance the next 100 pages could take until Columbus Day . ....hmmm ... ..that's a shame.

P.S. Have I ever mentioned that I've spent a decent amount of time in Wasilla AK?

Ain't touchin' that wif a 10 phoot pole B)

Pataghumn--hope those tests come back on schedule and you're not left hanging again.....Wow, the job interview!! :D Exciting, and admittedly scary at the same time. I truly wish all the best for you with it--it sounds like a fantastic opportunity to get slowly back into working. Take things one step at a time, and do the best you can--no one can expect more of you than that. ;) I think you're gonna do just fine :)

Kinky Boots. . ....... . . .This sounds splendid. Is there a character in this named Nikerler? Is this how, in fact, it is pronounced? I wonder if this name is as difficult to pronounce for a francophone as "squirrel' is.. . .... ... ...

Going to watch my cousin and her kids racing in a provincial regatta today at Mooney's Bay here in Ottawa... . .rowing, paddling and kayaking. It is only supposed to get up to 12 C (50 F) today, which makes for a very chilly time on the water.

Bah, it had better not be too chilly on the shore.. . ...... . I am just NOT ready for cold weather.

Even wif me hot tub.

Weezee's new favorite thing in the world is to go to coffee or lunch.....see, she had never been as I could never take the two dogs together - too much canine management - but now she and I go and meet phfriends rather regularly - - Weezee takes it upon herself to become the "greeter" and make friends with everyone on the patio  she MUST have everyone like her.......poor, co-dependent little thing

Today - - -GLORIOUS crisp fall day - but no clouds. :( clouds and rain only for one day. but......my mom bought a tree for my back yard - - quite a bargain - a Gem Magnolia (about 12 feet tall now, will grow to 25) for forty five dollars! a special at Home Depot. (good gawd, I am not planting it, don't worry, can't even lift the thing, 'tis about 75 pounds and have enlisted Stepford's gardeners to help).

And an acquaintance now runs the Fresno State nursery, went there yesterday and she gave me a bunch of free nasturtium seedlings and stuff.......

Paul Gross is a Canadian actor (maybe more famous in Canada than here? dunno, Emily or Peter would have to clarify) Did you ever watch Due South? That's probably what he is most famous for in the U.S. He played a Canadian Mountie that comes down to Chicago and works on the police force there with his side kick dog, I loved the show and Paul was so dreamy!!!

I am looking for a video on You Tube to show you and omg....don't you love all the tribute videos people put together with clips and/or pictures set to cheesy romantic balads, confessing their undying love for the actor/actress?!?!:lol:

CDC Alert

The Centers for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically. This virus is called Weary Overload Recreational Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues, or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely. If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises.

Take two good friends to the nearest grocery store and purchase one or both of the antidotes - Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.

You should immediately forward this medical alert to five friends. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life.

hmmm.... i think there's a certain age requirement for those particular remedies... how about something along the lines of Curtailing Annoying Never-ending Detailed Yucky HomeWork(CANDY - H.W. edition)?? yeeeah that was pathetic and on about a 3rd-grade level - i'm not in much of a creative mood <_<

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some very disgusting things happened today!!!!!!! :o

GAH!! *squirm* *gagging excessively*

it's a blonde cocker spaniel, male, almost 4 yrs old. Friend's of a friend can't keep it anymore because one of their teenagers has asthma and has become allergic to him, so they are looking for a good home to take him in.

julie she sounds adorable!!! WE WANT PICTURES :D

Sillies- I do not think it is pink eye- I woke up with a clear eye- completely. I took a shower and then had to run to the eye dr to drop something off. Even the woman there said it didnt look like pink eye. I get home and it was starting to get a little itchy and now its red and irritated again. Fine till I got in the shower and thats when I had trouble last time.....Its an allergy to something, but nothing has changed in my shower--no new soaps or detergants nothing. I still have not put a contact into that eye but what to do next?

aww amanda... did they figure out what it is yet?

Oh, the bird is dead.

Judy! I have often thought of this, wished it even. . . . I often want another arm. The question remains: Where would the best place be for it to function most effectively, to pick up the slack, to be in the best spot to perform what my other arms/hands miss? It's fascinating to ponder. . . . . do I want it out the centre of me back, to do chores and small jobs that can be done with my back turned, not requiring direct watching? To most easily fix my underwear/jeans when they're riding up my butt?

How about out the top of me head? For waving above everyone else at airports, concerts, auctions. . . . . ...

Between my boobs, to separate them (they'd look better, methinks), and to carry that extra grocery bag in front, to shake hands with the third person I meet in a group. . . . . ...

....Dunno. . . . . . must ask The Ripper. . . . . . ...

I think I was. He's quite a handsome devil, that Paul. . . . .and he has a critically acclaimed new movie out that he stars in/produces/directs. . . . .He's much more, apparently, than a pretty face. I believe it's called Paschendale. Must look for it!

Dang......did it again and yeah I should admit I am 63 with clumsy phone thumbs. I started feeling better quickly and a doctor a year later said I had to eat  poison (gluten) every day for a month so he could formally diagnose me and NO FREAKING WAY. I couldn't then and can't imagine putting my body through that crap (no pun intended) on purpose ever again.  Why ingest poison for a month to have some doctor say Hey, All you Have To Do Is Never Eat poison Again..

15 years ago my best friend 'diagnosed' me as Celiac. Oh my heavens, within 3 days, no lie, I felt human again. Took me about a y

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.

Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.
