I think the site is still in its infancy stage...hence why the retailer info isn't working correctly.

Here's the AB press release link:

AB said the site is not functional yet but will be soon.........hopefully then the retail locator will work.

In the mean time you can call the toll free AB number (www.budweiser.com) and ask for the number for your local Bud ditsributor and they can tell you if it's coming to your area. Apparently some bars/restos will be offering it as well - yea!

Publix update - I called the store closest to me and was told they may get the beer tomorrow but if not, they will have it on the 26th.......the Publix 2.2 miles down the street from the first store says they think it's there but not up on the shelves yet so she has to call me back to see when it will be available for purchase. She will also tell me the price per 6-pk. So Turtle - you should be able to get it if you are here on the 26th if not before!

Woo Hoo!!!!! My distributor is going to try to have it in my Wal-Mart by Friday, day after tomorrow!!!!!

Happy dance...happy dance

:D:P:lol:

Thanks for the tip, Floridanative. I called 1.800.DIALBUD, and they gave me my local distributor number. Also, at 1800DialBud the "voice on the other end" said that it did "go national" on Monday, so that it's not a matter of IF it will come to my area, but a matter of who will carry it locally. My local distributor said he just got it in, and.......Wal-mart on Friday :)

Hehehe, I'm not even a big drinker, beer or otherwise, but mandatory deprivation plays games with cravings.

floridanative Community Regular

Oh my........Publix better get it because I may be thrown in jail if I have to go to Walmart before Christmas........but I must take beer to FL for beer-battered shrimp on Christmas eve!

To all my beer-loving buddies--I just saw this--

Probably nothing new, but thought I'd share!

Thanks for linking to that article, Patti. It was nice that they also gave Bard's Tale, New Grist, and Romapo Valley props.

Big Article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in the Business Section on Redbridge rolling out nationally. It will be $7.99 for a six pack and sold in organic and health food stores. Can't wait to try it!

Guhlia Rising Star

Just a quick FYI, apparently the recall on Red Bridge was due to suspected contamination. Supposedly there was no contamination afterall and beer was returned to all distributors. We bought our second case tonight and have still had no problems with it.

It was also on MSN through MSNBC today: Open Original Shared Link

I'm not a beer drinker, but this is all exciting! I think its great that it is obviously made with "our" population in mind, especially since it is such a growing market! And, great publicity! It encourages me that they worked with the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness on this.

I just wanted to follow up on what floridanative said, as far as Redbridge beer in the metro Atlanta area. It is now available (at least as of 12/20/06) at Mac's in Midtown. I bought a six-pack last night there and it was fully stocked in the refrigerated case. It was buried in the middle with all of the regular beer so you kind of have to hunt for it. It was around $8 with tax.

As for the taste test...I am pleasantly surprised. This is definitely a decent beer. It reminds me of some of the products the local breweries here put out, which I always enjoyed. Obviously it's been awhile since I've had regular beer but I did have a friend taste it who drinks regular beer and she thought it was pretty good as well. It would be great to get other gluten-free labels in here just for a little variety but for now, I'm happy to have a little "brew" back in my life!

I just saw it on the "crawl" during Good Morning America! I guess that means it's hit the big time! :D

Good Morning America?!?!?! What did they say?!?!?!

arc Newbie

They actually have it in our little burg in the wilds of far NE Washington state. I bought a bottle the other night to have with my low carb, gluten-free pizza. I have never been much of a beer drinker (it always hurt my stomach, for some reason  ) but I thought it was good. My wife tried it and said that it was actually something she would drink. I almost feel like I should buy it just to help it be successful.

It's funny - the main reason I tried it was because I could, not because I wanted beer. Weird, huh?

What sort of stores are carrying this? Regular grocery stores? HF stores? I miss beer!

I didn't see them talking about it, it was just the words that run across the bottom of the screen that said that AB has released a new sorghum beer for people allergic to wheat. It did not mention Celiac Disease.

I totally agree...for me it was wanting what I couldn't have. I've always preferred wine over beer, though I was becoming a budding beer snob before the celiac disease kicked in. Still, it was really just about the only thing gluten-free out there that I hadn't tried so that made the anticipation even greater. :)

This will mainly depend on "our" input. I have talked to reps of my local distrubutor about putting it in the supermarkets. I don't see that being a big problem. Also I talk to the manager/owner of resturants I frequent about the availability of products like this. They talk to the route sales person of the distributor who in turn make the necessary arrangements to make this happen. "We" will be the driving force for where this ultimately shows up. Call or e-mail any business (store, resturant) that you would like to see this product sold. Since AB is national then it could go almost anywhere.

Grrrr.... I can't find anyone carrying this, and even my requests for it don't seem to be that important on their own. So everyone contact your local stores and ask them to carry this. Especially if you happen to be in the Northern Virginia area. :P Or if anyone in this area knows somewhere that is carrying this let me know!!

WOOOHOOO!!! BEER!! Now I won't have to ask my friends if I can smell their beer anymore!

You guys have Whole Food up there, right? You may want to call them up and ask...I kinda think they'd have it. My friend owns a restaurant so she said she'll pick me up a case from her distributer...I can't wait!!!

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.
    • Scott Adams
Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
